This looks decent, a fair bit of work, but looks like the pay off is worth it. I commend you for looking to introduce more detailed recipes (South American inspired seems to be a theme?) whilst still putting your own (bbq) twist to them. Have followed the bbq channels for years it does seem the area is becoming a little samey - theres only so many ways you can smoke brisket / ribs / pulled pork hey... well done for keeping things fresh and not just rehashing the same cooks time and again like many others seem to do. Keep up the good work and ill Look forward to seeing whats next 😊
I’m from Texas, and this looked freakin delicious! I’m used to traditional carnitas here, but would be 100% on board with smoking them first. Made my mouth water, well done.
I enjoy your channel mate. I'm in Orlando Florida and I do a little bit of barbecuing myself. I learned about your channel from watching Chud's BBQ on youtube. I appreciate what you guys do! In my opinion rice never belongs in a burrito. I feel like restaurants use it as a filler. Sometimes I like beans on my burrito and sometimes I prefer the beans and rice to be on the side. Once again that's just my opinion. Cook on mate! 🍻
Great work! I lived off burritos many summers on the Mexican border and eat them often here in Texas. We call them tacos, but I know places in Mexico that even call them burritos. It’s awesome see you do these cooks all the way across the ocean. Keep it up, really enjoy your content and watching your bbq journey.
Looks great! The best burrito I ever had was at some small place in Chicago. My Spanish speaking friend insisted that I drink agua fresca to wash it down. This type of drink created the perfect counter balance. I highly recommend never having a burrito without it! Keep up the great content!👍
I bust out laughing when you put that on the scale (yes, this Yank knows metric because he bakes a lot) . You nailed this one all the way around, even the ridiculous size. Kudos from Central Illinois!
What timing.....I literally smoked a pork shoulder this past weekend and make carnitas with the leftovers.....and a homemade salsa!! Roasting the veg is crucial.....great job, mate...looks amazing!!
Dude, that is a killer looking burrito. I too love a quality burrito also. Cholula is a favorite of mine also, another is valentina. Great video, now I know what I am making this weekend.
I'm with you brother!! You have to have the cholula! Have you tried the chipotle cholula?? It's amazing! I also really like that HC Tex-Mex rub. I use that all the time myself. Good looking burrito! I bet you had to take a nap after eating that big ole thing!
@WilsonsBBQ Both places are 🔥. If you have the time try bdaddys bbq. They (Like Leroy & Lewis) were able to move into a brick and mortar from a food truck. Very good.
Love the technique on the carnitas. So after the pork is tender, you just remove foil and cook uncovered at 275° F for the last hour and it crisps up nicely at that temp correct?
Sorry, I may not have been clear. I meant to say that I much prefer basmati over regular long grain rice. I think it suits the burrito better. Long grain kinda reminds me of when you buy a shitty burrito at a festival or something.
I’d like to know more about the flavour profiles of the different types of chilli you use, eg, heat, flavour, etc. Also, have you tried The Sauce Shop “Original Hot Sauce”? Made by a little independent company in the UK, nicest hot sauce I’ve tried (But I now need to try the one in this video 😆)
I haven’t! I’ll have to give it a go! Yes good shout. I should have described the chillies a little more. Sometimes it’s easy to forget people don’t know exactly the thing I’m using or where I get it from. Especially when it’s something I use weekly
Thank’s for watching! Yeah it’s a super common cut here. Didn’t realise it wasn’t so easy to come across in the states! It’s great for doing a super mini Carolina style whole hog cook..!
@@WilsonsBBQ Yes indeed, been going there since it opened around 15 years ago. It's like Chipotle except way better. Plus it's local, not some national chain.
Valentinas is my favourite hot sauce! I always have it in the cupboard ready to go! For this, I just used cholula as it reminds me of my first few years being obsessed with burritos
What are your favourite burrito fillings?

Chile relleno add shrimp.
Think there would be appetite for a series where you make bbq with meats we can buy at supermarkets in the UK. This is a great start!!!
Great idea!
I literally laughed so loud......"this is fucking delicious" 😂😂. So honest and raw.
When you said..."a little more Cholula", I was a subscriber! OMG I gotta try this. I've been looking for a good burrito recipe!

You had me at yep.
Dude! That is the most delicious and biggest burrito I've ever seen. Gotta try this.

The burrito assembly really got me craving one of these bad mama jamas!

Great job on the Carnitas. Looks amazing.

That’s a great two handed meal !
Nice! I'm watching from San Antonio Texas and that looks authentic! Well done
That’s awesome to hear. I’m heading to San Antonio in April for the day to hit 2M and Rees Bros. Thank’s for watching!

Oxford Mission Burrito YES!
That looked incredible-thank you. Sorry my fault for not understanding but did you prefer the long grain to the basmati? Thanks again.

That's ~1.75 lbs for us Americans :) That's a good looking burrito! A bit of sour cream would be delicious in that as well.
Ha I should have included that conversion! I almost hate to admit I’m not a huge fan of sour cream 😣
For the algorithms bay bay!!!
Now I want a burrito!
Looks amazing 😮
Was real real good!
So cool that you can get pork shoulder with skin on. 😎 Not (generally) available in US. ☹️ Another great recipe!! 👍
Thank’s for watching! Yeah it’s a super common cut here. Didn’t realise it wasn’t so easy to come across in the states! It’s great for doing a super mini Carolina style whole hog cook..!
Mexican restaurants typically use long grain
Reminds me of a Cabo Bob's burrito. Did you stop by there when you were in Austin?
I didn’t. No. Not heard of it before. Would you recommend.

@sammyk874 it’s on my list for April!
Now I need a burrito !!!
Same. Thank’s for watching!
Truly epic !!
It really was good!
and now I'm hungry lol gonna try this
Please do! Let me know how you get on!

Man you need to try Valentina’s next time you are in Texas!

More Mexican food 😎
Absolutely love Mexican (inspired) food!
@@WilsonsBBQ hey it’s Mexican approved from me 😂
@@VillanuevaMedia Then Mexican it is!
Lol crushing garlic is like the easiest thing u can do, good job tho no rush man
They were knife crushed, just not peeled.
You lost me with the salsa and Cumin in the Guacamole. Other than that, not too bad!!
that is not how you wrap a buritto XD hahahahaha
