- "Tina: The Tina Turner Musical," nominated for 12 Tony Awards, is reopening on Broadway next month - which also marks the return of Tony nominee Adrienne Warren. Correspondent Maurice DuBois talks with Warren about how she recreated the rock legend in her fiery performance. Warren also talks about how time off due to the pandemic reoriented her career, including her work with the Broadway Advocacy Coalition, a group dedicated to fighting systemic racism in the theater industry, which will be awarded a Special Tony Award for its efforts.

I saw Tina Turner in Atlanta years ago. Some ladies and I could not understand how she could dance in heels as she did for 3 hours. We were so tired, especially me from a sprain right leg, we sat down. But what made me like Tina even more was the big beautiful smile on her face while she entertained. I could tell she LOVE her work as a performer. She has been my favorite entertainer. I love others but that love for what she did as a performer encourage me so much.

I'm so embarrassed that I wasn't aware of Tina being on Broadway; I saw Deborah Cox on Broadway when she portrayed Whitney and my goodness what an incredible show it was! Undoubtedly this will be just as equal. Needless to say I'm definitely gonna pay homage by checking it out.

I saw the reopening last night. IT WAS AMAZING. I’ve never seen an audience so ELECTRIC. We were rooting for Adrienne and Tina… Adrienne DELIVERED, BABY! GO SEE IF YOU CAN BEFORE ADRIENNE LEAVES ON OCT 31!!

Didn't know anything about the Broadway show . Had heard Ms. Turner had left the U.S. to retire from being TINA . So glad to see her happy & successful . A heroine for all .

I had the Mad Max soundtrack, the record, as my mom bought it in the year it was released. That was my intro to Tina, but she had so much more & the best legs in rock’n’roll!!!
I wonder if she was hand-picked by Tina to play her in this musical? The same way Tina chose Angela Bassett to play her in the movie? I'm sure this is a stellar production and Ms. Warren gives an outstanding performance, but having seen Tina in concert on more than one occasion, I can't imagine anyone being able to bring that kind of electricity to the stage, regardless of how much they prepare or rehearse for it. Tina was one of a kind; a true force of nature. But that doesn't mean I won't go see it, I just don't want to be disappointed.

I saw Adrienne on her return to the Aldwych theatre last night. Astonishing. It was like Tina's spirit was there. This girl is 'simply the best' and that's no disrespect intended to the others that have played Tina.

Both the actress, former singer both talented! I wish we Americans would talk more about people who leave the country and why? We shouldn't shy away from stories about Americans who move on from America 🇺🇸🌐😌🌍🌎🌏. I love this country but think sometimes if I can be successful somewhere else in the world? 🤔🧐

I saw Adrienne Warren in tina turner the musical in aug 2018 in London UK sold out show everybody on there feet. Epic .. Show came to the states it was worse you couldn't get a ticket my friend tried it cost her $600.00 . Me I bought my ticket 2 month prior. Adrienne Warren is still Epic
