@@philz7462 Why did he, as a mega basketball star/celebrity pay a random girl he had sex with besides his wife to not tell anyone he had consensual sex with her? Probably because everyone would bash him for cheating and being a piece of shit. Better yet, she came out and tried to get more money off him by saying he raped her because she blew that money instantly and wanted more. After all the bullshit with women falsely accusing men of raping them, I refuse to believe any of them at first glance without fair trial like everyone should. Kobe being the star he was helped him have a fair trial instead of just being locked up and having the key thrown away if that was me.

Either way he was not a perfect person, and perhaps shouldn’t be looked at as a role model because he cheated on his wife regardless of whether it was rape or not. But through his dedication to basketball he inspired millions of people. That should be celebrated, if nothing else. I respect your opinion though.

InfinityWard He thought he had consent coz the woman led him to believe that initially. He made a mistake and learnt and grew from it to become an amazing dad to 4 daughters and did so much good. He apologised to that woman and paid her damages. It’s resolved and over. How many times will you punish a man over and over for the same mistake that he’s already grown from? Retraumatising the victim over and over by bringing it up everytime? You are defined by the good you do, not the mistakes you make in life as long as you make amends and learn your lessons.

Kobe is definitely a legend and an idol a lot of people look up too, but we have to remember that there were 8 other people on that plane too, and they have people that love them, including two 13 year old girls, who had so much life ahead of them. Please just keep all of them in your prayers. Like Michael said, we need to also celebrate their lives, because they would want us to be happy. I bet he is looking down right now smiling to see the impact he made, and I really hope they weren't in any pain. I think in a way this hardship can truly help us come closer together as people on this earth and realize what life is, and how we really need to love each other. What hits me even more, is seeing people's response to this, and it really makes you have more hope in humanity seeing people feel emotions with each other. I love all you guys, and lets all try to spread more love. (:

Our sincere condolonces from Finland. May the victims rest in peace and our prayers and hearts go to the friends and family of those who passed. As a former Ice Hockey player KOBE was my idol growing up even though the sports are very different from each other. I remember when I was 10 years old and I visited Houston, I demanded that my father would purchase me a ticket to the Rockets game against the Lakers. And the most important thing for me was the see the warm up because I wanted to learn how Kobe prepared for the game. I was almost the first person in the building when they opened the doors. I never forget that day which was so inspirig to me.

I think Kobe's passing is a inspiration and a message to mostly young people that you can accomplish so much even at a young age if you have the desire to win. This is a person that started playing in a professional sports field at the age of seventeen years old. He couldn't even sign his NBA contract. He was partially responsible for having three NBA titles before his 24th birthday.
