I loved how Jimmy said "and 7 of his friends" and not use the term "others". They were sure important to Kobe and anyone.

A single death is a tragedy, a million deaths is statistics.
No disrespect to Kobe and the family but almost A BILLION animals affected in australia and thousands and thousands of homes and people died. Similar thing happened in Brazil. Just a few weeks ago, A Ukrainian plane crashed in Iraq AND ANOTHER 170 PEOPLE DIED and even yesterday a plane crashed in the ISIS AREA in the middle east. Hundreds die everyday in syria and yemen and now hundreds are dying due to corona virus. I DONT HAVE MORE WORDS.

At the very least, we Los Angeles citizens know that he knew we loved him. What so often happens with death is that people feel guilty that someone wasn't appreciated while they were alive. Kobe is a hero in LA and he had to have known that because we were loud, stupid and obnoxious about it.

I feel the same way bro, I'm a huge Lakers fan, in San Antonio Texas, and it's not easy being a Lakers fan here, especially when Kobe and the Lakers had rivalries with tim Duncan and the spurs. I went to watch them play the spurs every season, Kobe saved the day many times against them. I miss that guy, I wanted to see how successful he was going to be as a coach. He was a great father, and became a great husband.

I noticed when Kobe was interviewed by himself he was kind of shy and quiet but when Kimmel interviewed him with his teammates he was stern and almost leader-like. You can tell why he inspired he’s teammates so much.

I thought he was pompous, arrogant, and proud. The reality is, he was confident, humble, and, best of all, he NEVER said anything negative about anyone during these interviews. He always took the opportunity to say something positive or give praise. How much we can learn from that simple action that he was doing consistently.

As a kid of a single mother who knew nothing about sports, I learned how to play basketball from watching Kobe on ABC on Sundays back in 1999/2000. Watch the game, then go try to emulate him. In a lot of ways Kobe filled that father figure role in my life. He didn’t know it, but at 30 years old now, I owe a lot of who I am today to him.

I'm German and only knew Kobe from seeing him in one early episode of "Modern Family". I was never a big sports fan, but after that episode I saw him on TV like in the news or somewhere, and whenever he appeared on the screen, I got happy. I don't know why, but this man had a talent of making people smile by just existing, just showing up. Just by seeing him. When the news broke of his passing, I hoped so much that it was untrue. I was in shock to find out that it was true and it didn't only take him, but other innocent people, including his daughter. I still smile when I see him. He was such a great guy. He is missed. And will forever be missed, loved and remembered. He's taking care of his big girl up there ❤
