"Isn't this ancient disaster similar to what happened in(the Bible history)Sodom and Gomorah!?" 6-16-2024'
@@RoenaMorgan Did you know the Romans murdered countless Israelites, demolished Jerusalem to rubble and stole precious Jewish artifacts from Jerusalem before returning to Rome?
The Romans did that only 11 years before Mt. Vesuvius erupted.
Similar but not the same.with the cities of the plain destructionwas total and destroyed event he buildings sot that in the end all was ash and salt and sulphur balls . Even bones were turn to ash in the cities of the plain.
So total was the destruction that even today the soil is poisoned and sterile unlike Pompei.
Salt was the salary paid to Roman soldiers. It is implausable that enough "money" was dumped on the ground to render the soil sterile nearly 2000 years later.
The chained dog abandoned by his master, was the most poignant. The animal had no choice and no chance.
I have always been fascinated by the story of Pompeii. It is a stark reminder that history is people, just like us, not some abstract thing on paper. It is also a stark reminder that life can change in an instant.
One thing for sure, no one can fight the earth when it decides to make its changes. No weapon is as powerful as the earth itself.
There is one - God. Who created heaven and Earth.
Jesus is coming. On April 9, 2021, my vision went black for a quick moment, then I saw in gold letters - Thus saith the Lord. About four hours later, On April 10, in my sleep I heard - Prophet. Tell them I am coming soon. Maybe 3-5 min after that, at 1235 AM, our area had a 3.1 eq.
If only Greta Thunberg & all the climate change disciples understood that about the earth, we would have one less group of narcissistic toddlers harassing everyone, stopping traffic, vandalizing ancient art & archaeological sights & wasting so much effort & money giving them what they demand whether it’s supported by science or not. Climate change wokesters are one the worst religious groups on earth, & one that most normal people would be glad to seee disappear. Here’s to the true religions & peaceful religions who contribute positive things to humanity. 🕍💒⛪️

why do all videos feel the need to do "back stories"? if someone doesn't know about Pompeii then go watch a video or read about it. this video is supposed to be what supposedly newly found there.... so stick to what the title of the video is... I don't need a recap of Pompeii.
Totally agree
This is new. Most of Pompeii wasn’t touch by archaeologists.
Obviously not every human creature on earth is fortunate enough to know all about Pompeii, also some children might have never heard of Pompeii. The background story may or may not be to our liking, but it is interesting. SOMEONE should attempt a more accurate and correct film of this topic.
Perhaps other people do need the "back stories"
It drives me crazy and the use of stock video as well.
This will sound a bit crazy,i had a dream i was there when that volcano hit that day when it did! My dream seemed so real!! Inside of a building there was a boy about 10 years old that i was following around. I seen red velvet curtains and people were in a hurry to leave the building. I seen the stadium outside of this building. I never had a dream that felt so real like this. I am so interested in the videos of pompeii. I have never been out of the United States in my lifetime, i would love to go to pompeii just to see if something in my dream connects to me. I am 60 years old and never believed in reincarnation up until i had that dream.
You gotta make that jump and go there, its now or never, have a safe trip and happy holidays!
So, the bread oven caused a fire in the city that was totally on fire and being buried by super heated ash at the same time. But, the oven caused the fire. Right.
Thank you for giving me 20 minutes of my life.
You obviously did not understand what they said or watch the whole video. They don't say that's what caused a fire. They constantly say it's was a volcanic eruption
Pompei is a stark reminder that the toil of Man is fragile against the power of Nature. The powers that be ought to keep this in mind.
And hundreds of thousands now call that area home ... Man kind ,never learns ... Ever
We’re just 🐜 gonna keep building no matter what
You did not show the men sitting against the wall. Not cool!
Thank you, My exact thought..
Of course not. It is just a trick to make you watch. It is so obvius!
The men against the wall were African slaves they had afros, not helmet head like whites or Asians would.
Thank you. I won't be watching now.
@@JannyMahasame!!
What I don’t understand is, being a city under Roman rule, did Rome forget the existence of Pompeii….there are no records of it in Rome anywhere and years after the eruption when the lava cooled down, why was it never searched for and excavated ? No record of it came down from the Roman Empire….i find this very strange! They recorded everything!
Pliny the Younger left a graphic eyewitness account of the event, seen from across the Bay of Naples. The Romans did record it.
What would be the point of wasting labour to dig out dead people?
@@malcomgain Yup. Also Rome has so many ruins itself (it's like a lasagne...) why would they need to go looking for new ones to excavate? And to ancient Romans Pompeii had no value, it was just ruined houses and dead bodies.
I went to Pompeii in 1975. I'd love to go back and see all the differences now. A lot more has been uncovered, and I can see by this video!
Likewise 💜✨
I was there in 1972. I'd love to see the changes, like you.
@francesmorton7183 to bad we could just make a plan and go! I had tons of fun and it was exciting.
Forgot what year my mom and I went there. In the 70s. Love to go back.
Yes I was there in 79. I was impressed but now I would love to see the fresco and paintings.
It looks so big now!!!
I wanna go back😢
Nice pictures, but horrible narration.
Don't say "without worning". There was sings, just they didn't understand. And don't say the city was covered with (...) lava. There wasn't lava just ash and pumice
graffiti on the walls of Pompeii show us that its inhabitants all knew how to read and write
Of course they did! The ancient Romans were advanced intelligent people who conquered most of the world! Not illiterate peasants living in caves or mud huts.
That poor dog......not that the bodies of people weren't tragic but....I'm a farm girl and in a fire, we free the animals FIRST then get ourselves out. It doesn't always work out well. Good doggo.
I would die before I would leave my dog, that man must have been a coward, and a no good POS I hope the man never made it out.
A huge display of the artefacts and people came to Melbourne art gallery, capital of Victoria in Australia on 26th June to 25th October 2009, it was the most tragic and fascinating display I have ever been witness to, heart breaking and devastating, but truly remarkable, I will never forget it ever
Repetition does nothing to enhance this video. Its quite a turn away from actually .🤔🤨
But the mountain did give warning that it was going to erupt
Pyroclastic flows move much much faster than 7 km/h.
They can reach 700 km/h but generally they move at about 100 km/h (60 MPH).
Thanks. Kilos confound me.
I traveled to Pompeii in 1980. Young college kid.
It was so small in comparison to now. I would love to go back.
I was in Pompeii just a year ago. It was fascinating! Would love to go back.
What historians and archaeologists tend to forget to mention is Napoleon Bonapartè,s family Caroline Bonapartè dedicated a huge amount of her life and money to funding and doing the excavations, studied archaeology herself for working to unearth Pompeii. So if do a back story go at least all out!! And mention, how it came about to be excavated and why! How and when it happened! So on and so forth! More time is given with backstories than the title given to the posted video! (About many historical video's) new findings is "New findings" if a person knows nothing find the relevant information to then stay updated on further information and findings. History is forever evolving obviously, so new subjects are always being made and found. Start from the beginning and continue as far and as long as possible, as we will all become part of History 👍✨️🤩
We were just in Pompei this past September 2023….
Amazing!!!
Herculaneum honorary mention
A "Pandora's Box" of ........... WHAT!?!? Lots of hype and dramatic proclamations. Just shut up and tell us about the catastrophe.
To much banging on , A bit overdone
Yes shut up we want to see the muscular men sitting showing off their ...☝️
I like the video and channel, but the discoveries do not change everything as stated. Please don’t use that expression.
Did they just mean that date scratched in charcoal? The narration here is irritating.
The calendar was changed centuries later, by the Church. November refers to the eighth month, now called August, for Augustus.
remind me of the difference between a population that has seen slow destruction of its social norms by society and a population that sees slow destruction created by nature. some wake up, some run, some never wake up. and such is life.
Might that not be the date at which that fresco was scheduled for renovation and not the actual date of the day.
That alone is not exactly evidence.
I was thinking the same thing. A scheduled date for renovation.
Pompeii did not erupt without warning, there was seismic activity, rumbling and smoke for weeks prior.
I’ve been there amazing place and rooms . Myths and legends are real based in fact , inner Earth and other planets 🪐 have so many beings .
Find it shocking and sad you blurred out a fresco of a naked person.
American puritanical "sensibilities" deny the beauty of the human body. Especially the penis. Indo-Afro-Europeans are much more accepting of the entire human body; both penis and breast.
why would the Romans have a painting of Poseidon? He was a Greek God. The Roman God of the sea was Neptune. Many of your facts and comments look very "Iffy" to say the least.
If the pyroclastic flow is only going 7 miles an hour they had a lot of time to get out of there
Pyroclastic flow is a deadly mixture of hot ash and toxic gases. It moves much faster than 7 miles per hour.
@@lthornton7802 ohh the video said 7mph
Sulfuric acid by air.
It would be interesting if they could find modern descendants or relatives of those who died at Pompei.
As stated in the video, the intense heat destroyed the bones after ash encasement. No bones. No DNA. Therefore, no possible definative links to descendants 2000 years later. IMO
Stop censoring ART!
If you want to blur the image, why don't you just censor the whole thing and omit it and continue the tradition of fear.
The anatomy of people has changed a lot since the year 79 AD! At 21:01 there is an image of a statue of a young man that is totally out of proportions.
How is it out of proportions?
@@ankhpom9296😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Statues of deformed anatomical anomalies were used teaching young medical students of multiple human conditions, diagnoses, and possible cures.
Pompeii was near the Bay of Naples. Perhaps, some people were able to escape by boats to other nearby Countries, scholars should investigate what became of these people, now with DNA they would not be difficult to trace.
DNA would only show people living in the region. No direct ties to Pompeii.
The intense heat, lasting for years after ash encasement of 10+ meters (22+ feet), would destroy all DNA. No DNA = nothing traceable to descendants.
.
Modern analogy: a cooking campfire smoldering with hot embers under less than a half inch of ash the next morning.
HOW DID THE "COMMENTS SECTION" ON THE CATHOLIC WOMAN WHO WENT EVENGELICAL GET MIXED UP WITH THE
TOPIC OF POMPEII?????
Amazing lesson for humanity!
The story of Pompeii is so sad. I hope the majority of them did not suffer long because that's what I would hope for myself and my loved ones.
Pyroclastic flows are way faster than 7kph. More like 70 mph or more likely 60-70 miles per hour. A person can run 10 kph, so 7 is weird. Check your facts BEFORE you post.
Archeologists now believe that it erupted in October.
Flat bread has been used as plates in more than just Italy
Heartbreaking.
What an amazing city , so advanced. The Romans brought us so much culture.
Latest information suggests there were signs of eruption a day or so beforehand. However, no-one seemed to understand these signs - or even knew what volcanoes were.
Isn't vesuvius still an active volcano?
So interesting and amazing! Thank you!
So what about the picture of men shackled with ropes on the page???? I've been to pompeiii 3 times but not seen them.
Again a false impression given to make me watch it the whole way through. This should not be allowed
How is the date of the eruption by a few months “game changing?”
I liked your work but the opening image is a bait and switch?
I thought so.
This video is just a review of all was discovered in Pompeii....nice to attract new interest with those statues on the cover of this video......useless all done before...
I enjoyed watching this video. Thank you
Great video. When showing some of the frescoes, why is there blurring out pieces of art depicting the human body? We are all adults.
The skeletal remains of the man with the large rock over him? We refer to him as *Chud* and that he had gotten drunk and peed on Vulcan's temple wall.
I believe there was warnings but not everyone left.
The supernatural mumbo-jumbo near the end ruined this video.
The nature of Nature. You got to respect that for that is what makes the world go round.💕🙏
The unluckiest man, I do believe reflects the gravity of breath. 😢
The amount of commercials for a program such as this one have doubled !
Loving this amazing Channel, thank you.
Glad you enjoy it!
Pity they commentator didn't bother to get the correct prounciation
I have no word it was horrible very scary 😮
one critique the Roman Calendar was 10months.
There are lots of people who have never seen any information about the city before.
You lost me when you started to talk about ghosts 😂
My ears pricked up when I heard ghosts. 😃👻
It just had to be an American woman that got “possessed” by a demonic Roman ffs 🤔😂 ohhhh the drama
Very informative and fascinating.
This is a wonderful study.
This dog was not there out of loyalty
This dog was in chains !!🫨
And probably unsafe to get near!
I just watched a documentary on the new dig. This was a really huge city!
I am fascinated
Great watching this I love things for lost times
On my bucket list now!!
The video does not illustrate the title. The wooden artefacts are from Herculaneum. Too little relevant detail about Roman culture. Too much repetitive handwringing about "the devastating eruption".
Why the exaustive back story? If anyone clicks on rhis channel they most likley already know the exaustve back story and just want the click on your bait, so again, most people who have a brain already understand the story, your welcome for my post but im not going to watch the rest of this video because i already know the story and you obviously have nothing more to elucidate on this subject, you tube should not allow this type of content.
Well done, thank you.
I need a recap, loved all the info👍
RECAP:
Volcano erupted/exploded. Most wealthy escaped b4 eruption. Many poor people died. City buried by pyroplastic blast & ash. Currently, still being uncovered. Beautiful cera.ic frescos showing daily city life. [However, many edited inserts totally unrelated. Some from Herculenem, China and 1930s America.]
Poorly narrated and edited, IMO .
Wow some real experts on the feedback
Bla bla bla bla
How much talking
every time it is shocking the world 😂
October 17 might have been the scheduled date for a fresco to be done on the wall.
Seasonal fruits shown, only available during fall/winter. Not hot summers. Mid August date (of Julian calendar) inaccurate. According to current archeology scholars.
@@frankmeyers2864 sorry, I don’t remember enough about my comment to understand yours. Why would the6 not do a fresco when there are fruits?
(Or aren’t fruits)
Classy people!!
👌🙏 for the information
All I have to say is if y don't like it don't watch it quit griping anout
The most unique item discovered was the ash covered man who was pleasuring himself the second he died. Very obvious in the pictures. Instead of running he chose to do that. Or its a flase story and he was urinating and toplled over in that pose.
It doesn't make sense. They had to hear it but all these people didn't move.
Amazing
Hard to believe that thousands of people still live in the same area!
Everyone has to live somewhere. So little fertile land to raise crops. Volcanic ash is very rich in trace minerals for optimal food production.
They worshipped those gods. I saw the floor mosaics on Cyprus all of the stories of the gods. It was everywhere. It was serious.
The Uk is covered in volcanic ash 😊
USA is covered in voluminous ass
Good for the garden.🤔
This city is a Cementery; so many people died in there. 😔
3:33 a ghost town? There WAS NO town. It was completely buried. More like it turned into a cemetery.
The picture of the dog keeps haunting me😢
The gases from the volcano killed people & dogs. None could escape the gas.
Are there incidences of the paranormal?
I visited in 1962. So much more since then. Lost interest when para normal crept in.
How could someone do that to their beloved dog.😢
Maybe a 3-star review.
fascinating---except for the ghost nonsense at the end.
The eryotion was in October
The roman calendar at the time had 10 months.
@@appaloosa42 the old Roman calender was substituted in 43 BC by the Julian calendar; adding January & February, introduced by Julius Caesar.
Has anyone noticed the men's faces in fresco are the same?
