  • Look no further, this is the closest you will get to oven baked fried chicken. Best of all, there's no additional oils or fats used. There's no point in oven frying anything if it's drizzled with a ton of oil, you may as well deep fry it. This crispy oven fried chicken recipe is without any oil or fat, so you know it's healthier. This is probably the healthiest fried chicken recipe you will ever find. The result is amazing and simple to do. Forget KFC copycat recipes, now you can make an original fried chicken, in your oven at home and without fat. Happy cooking and enjoy! Let me know how you went once you tried it, I'd love to know! Chef Joel.

    Made this last night, came out to be perfect & wife loved it! Few tips: 1 - pre-heat the oven at 250 C (higher than what they say here) and cook the chickens at this temp for 10 minutes, then bring the temperature down to 180 degrees. This will help to raise the internal temperature faster without burning the chicken. Also, halfway take them out, collect the oils from the tray and baste them on the chicken and put them back in. This makes it extra crispy and the oil is from the chicken fat rendered out - so that's extra flavor there!

      dnitemarez bake for exactly how long?

    • @dnitemarez
      @dnitemarez 4 года назад +40

      @@mindfoolness4652 something between 35 - 45 minutes. Depends on the size of your chicken pieces. Bigger they are, longer is the cook time. I poked the largest piece's thickest side with a toothpick to see if the juice coming out is clear or not. If it's clear, means its thoroughly cooked and ready to take it all out.

    I made this for my family on New Year’s day 2024 and was pleasantly surprised that this worked. I did marinate it for 4 hours without the egg, but added it to the marinade before flouring it. Based on some reviews, used cooking spray halfway through cooking. I popped the leftovers in the air fryer the next day and it was crispy and fresh as day one. Thanks for a great recipe.

    Always best to check the online recipe: Preheat your oven to a temperature of 400°F. Place in oven and bake for approx 30 minutes, turn oven down to 350°F after 5 minutes and continue the other 25 minutes. Chicken will be cooked once there’s sufficient juices on the dip tray, but use a meat thermometer to be sure.

I adjusted to a higher temperature for the first 15 minutes, and my overall bake time took longer (65 minutes), however that could also be because I live at a high altitude (or my oven is wonky-- or both). OK so it took a couple of tries to get this right, but it was so worth it. I think the big things for me were bringing the marinated chicken out of the fridge and letting it get to room temp, making sure the oven was pre-heated, letting the chicken rest for 5 minutes after the coating and brushing buttermilk on the white spots. During cooking I started with a pre-heated 200, then turned it down to 180 after 5 min. I got the butcher to cut up a whole fresh chicken - no defrosting a bird or buying it piecemeal at the supermarket - and that makes a difference too, I think. I had 6 people to feed and every piece was devoured. Gone! Thanks Chef Joel! 😋

Also do your self a favor and buy yourself a new oven cuz if you cooked chicken for 45 minutes at 375 degrees it would be overly toasted and burned up..lol

      oooh shut up sophie, are you this stupid? what is it you cant comprehend? deepfrying and drizzle some oil on something isnt the same fucking thing, and also not everyone are comfortable deep frying, and it for sure fucking isnt always less messy, and an oven requires basically no attention more then throwing it in, do i need to go on, you just wanted to complain, next time sopie just shut the fuck up
