What is Micro Teaching?

The STARTALK Arabic Institute for the Next Generation trained and supported a cohort of 30 undergraduate college students with an advanced background in Arabic language to become proficient in pedagogy, applied linguistics, and cultural studies for certification as classroom teachers. Participants earned undergraduate credit on successful completion of the course requirements.
This was an intensive, three week residential workshop at Harvard University Center for Middle Eastern Studies, consisting of 104 instructional hours, and included a teaching practicum mentored on-line by high school Arabic teachers from California, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Ohio, and Washington, D.C.
