Can't believe 17 people gave this a thumbs down! It's a boardwalk with attractions. It's exactly what it's supposed to be! What did you expect? On the bright side, so far 750 intelligent people gave it a thumbs up!
Really good Wildwood Boardwalk video. Well-shot and steady, pleasant commentary, no trendy ultra-fast cutting or goofy fast motion, and without any of the usual horrible, irritating machine music added in the background. Very refreshing -- like a dip in the ocean. :)
I was JUST up the boards last night, you might've walked right past me, munching on Curley Fries. Omg, sooo good. Small world. Wildwood is My hometown. (Actually, North Wildwood, but whos counting) :)
I'm from Maryland and absolutely love Wildwood, Cape May County and a lot about the state. 95% of people in my state think Ocean City (Md) is the greatest with the best boardwalk on earth. Used to try to sell em on Wildwood but lately bite my tongue more, the poor bastards! Lol 🤣
I haven't been there in about 40 years. The only place i really remember was called Hunt's Pier which had some odd rides like a Jungle cruise and a walk through pirate haunt as well as a mine train ride. Apparently it suffered a lot of storm damage in the late 90s and is now mostly used as storage. Thank you for the visit.
That's Hunt's Pier! For a little while in the 90s it was Dinosaur Beach. Then it went back to being storage again... Some of the rides were sold off to amusement parks. The Golden Nugget was completely ruined by the park that bought it. The remaining rides are sort of just rotting there.
I recently found your channel and I love it. I've always wanted to find an actual Zoltar machine when I was a kid my favorite movie was BIG. I've tried a ton of similar machines but never an actual Zoltar. I love that you are able to travel and do things you love and share it with us, I apire to get my work to a point in the near future where I can be more mobile. Cheers to you Sir.
@@Jessiboo7 omg yess I reamber the boat Rd underneath and the castle you walked in and it looked like a straight drop down and I was really dark down the hallways witch is scary the not knowing .
It was so creepy! I wish they had rebuilt it, but I think there were a couple of haunted attractions in that spot that caught fire, or maybe that one caught fire a couple times.
Was juat here last Thursday Grew up on this boardwalk. I live about 65 miles away. I would drive down to get a slice of pizza and people watch with friends then drive home. Prom weekends and Senior Weeks. My kids love it too. Thanks for showing the rest of the world. ❤
Omg that was such a rollercoaster of emotions because I was SO sad for you that Dante's wasn't open AND THEN IT WAS! This video makes me so homesick and I'm super excited you finally got to visit
Love Wild Wood 👍🤘 been going there since I was a kid in the late 70's early 80's. Wish they never got rid of the Flyer. It wasn't the biggest or best coaster, but it was really cool and one of the first. Also the Golden Nugget was a really cool ride. Carpet bagger would have loved it because he's seams to be into dark rides and I think the Golden Nugget would have been considered one. Any way great video. Haven't been there in a couple years. Gonna have to make the trip 🤣👍🤘
Yo carpetbagger cool to see you at wildwood I myself live in new Jersey and have gone to wildwood since I was a kid hope you enjoyed the thrill and fun
Do you remember me telling you about Ridleys in Wildwood? No museum.just the adventure maze, I got lost in there my self a few times. Great boardwalk the best I’ve ever been to. Sorry in rained during your visit.
I've been going to the wildwoods since I was a kid and going end of August can't wait love it hopefully you can get back down there again to redeem your tickets well worth it
I believe that dark ride is trying to recreate the legendary castle Dracula from the 80 and 90s. It was a huge haunted house with walk through and carts. It burned down decades ago however
pika23 I remember that castle in the late 70’s early 80’s. Scared the hell out of me and my brothers. It had a dungeon boat ride below the castle and the walk through above. There was another awesome haunted house next to the planet of the apes ride too. Loved going there on vacation.
Quite possibly the best boardwalk in the country… Just came back a few weeks ago. When I was there, the rides were open until 11 o’clock at night. Really well run piers and very clean.
Like someone else said, he got booted out of the mall because the owners wanted to redevelop it. Even then, I know he had a big “no photos” policy - supposedly, the light from cameras would damage the paint on his cabinets, so he wanted to prevent that. I don’t know how he would’ve felt about video, but I doubt ol’ Jacob would’ve had the best of luck with that!
I lived in Wildwood And in the winter you can actually walk down the streets and not see a person or a car for miles! It made me feel like I was the only one on earth! I loved it!!
I’ve been going to North Wildwood since I was an infant. I still spend half of my summer down there. Go to Russo’s for a cheesesteak next time, 9th and Ocean.
I’d love for you to come do an update video at Morey’s I’m a ride operator there for the summer(The Doo Wopper) and I would love to have the pleasure of entertaining you 😅
Next time you're in Wildwood, eat at Maui's Dog House. They serve food in dog bowls and have a delicacy called "salty balls". I believe it was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
Since your here in South jersey. And the shire area. Go to Margate. Check out Lucy the Elephant. It's a giant elephant you walk through. It used to be a tavern and I think a hotel
Dante's is a old favorite. I remember riding it several times as a young man. They used to also have a walk-through attraction called Dracula's Castle, I believe it burned down sometime in the late 90's.
@@thegonzofiles2014 I was close, it's been quite sometime, lol. The water ride was awesome, I miss that place. Always remembered being excited when we walked up to that bit of the boardwalk.
I spent most of my summers in Wildwood going to the boardwalk. Too bad the rides were closed! Dracula's Castle was the bomb in the day. This one smaller haunted house was so extreme people used to come out of there bloodied. Oh those sweet days without safety regulations.
The tickets never expire. Go back sometime there's tons to do on the island.
Loved when I would go down to the boardwalk. Wildwood is bringing back memories
Watch the tram car please , watch the tram car please sounds of Wildwood
I fn hate that fn car
Pretty much.
I hate that sound a lot
Yeah
Watch the tram car please.... This place has not changed since I was a teen
Every time we go to Sea Isle we gotta hit the boards in Wildwood just to hear "watch the tram car please!"
I remember that! I’ve been here a million times! It’s been like 30 years since they started that “watch the tram car please” thing
@@wartwyndhaven - Longer than that! I had a pin that said "F**k the tram car please!" in the mid-1980s.

Thanks for the quick Wildwood fix, I was about to head to the boardwalk last week but didn’t because it was supposed to rain! Best boardwalk around!
You're in my home state!! Welcome!! :)
Go visit Cape May! Seriously, you're so close anyway!
Cape May is great! Visited it many years ago...loved the feeling of strolling into the 1800's with the gas street lamps.
You got the zoo and look for diamonds!

It was even more epic in the 80s w Dracula's Castle (*I heard*) I shoulda told my mum you were coming by lol. Great vid!!

Thank you so much for this Video Jacob. That place is my earliest childhood memories. Very grateful.
Wildwood use to have a kick ass haunted house with boat ride underneath haunted boat ride of course but fire damaged it
Do you happened to remember when it burned down? I used to visit often during the 80's and early 90's with my family.
Castle Dracula burned down in 2002. I can still hear the creepy music playing in my head, miss that place!

The ghost ship is freaking AWESOME
Did you visit Jenkinsons? Casino Pier? Or Storybook Land? Great classic parks in NJ and Storybook Land being over 60 has a lot of history.
