Back in high school my friends and I would get on the gravitron and flip ourselves upside down when it would first start, but had to make sure to slip back upright before ride stopped or fall on our heads lol. 😂 goodtimes !

The Gravitron used to be my favorite ride!! We used to do tricks. Hang upside down, stand on the wall! I loved it!!
I love how you dont get dizzy on the Gravitron. They have it completely covered so you cant see anything outside flying past you to make you dizzy. All you experience is the centripetal forces and its awesome! The van is also a simulator.

The graviton is one of my favorite old school rides. When I was a teen at the NC state fair, there would only be a few folks in it. We’d lay sideways and all kinds of silliness. Love the vid :)
One time when I rode it. I saw this young teenager turn all the way around to be upside. down. Now they have signs saying no turning upside down on that ride.

This Haunted Mansion is way different than Disney's one; I hate it when people compare haunted house rides to Disney, especially when countless numbers of them came before Disney, such as all the Ghost Trains in the U.K. which first became a thing in the FREAKING 1920s!!! And then, there's the several Bill Tracy haunted houses (like Trimper's haunted house), across America that came about in the 1950s! So sorry to burst your bubble Disney fans, but Disney's haunted house is actually the ripoff!

Hyperblaze The joke was literally about the name of the attraction, which is a copyright of the Walt Disney Company, which this ride opened after the one at Disney. You took this much too seriously.

Tips: don't try to breath while you're on a ride like the gravitron. Secondly, it's way more fun when you go up with the mat that's behind you.

Thank you so very much for taking me back about 50 years to old school amusement parks similar to those in my area, none of which exist any longer. I would love to have this type of park still around me and I'm so glad they still exist somewhere. Once again Jacob you are the best screamer on RUclips. I love your travelogues. Don't ever stop.

That haunted house has been there forever and it has a signature moldy smell to it that brings back waves of nostalgia
So nice how this adult screams loudly at 3:22 3:37 4:06 4:46 and 5:12; and how he narrates and films the whole ride. I’m sure this has nothing to do with the owners and operators of other rides banning people from videotaping their attractions. I’m also sure that people attending these attractions really enjoy hearing this adult talk through the entire ride like he always does. Really great to see this grown adult ride all of the kiddie rides. Some people may find his behavior annoying, but they need to be more tolerant and accepting of his behavior.
@@chipinchina Yes, exactly! If I were on rides with him with my kids I would enjoy his screams and talking through the whole ride. The same when I go to the movies and someone is narrating what is happening on the screen. Sometimes I miss something, and if I'm lucky enough to sit near someone who is recapping what went on; them I can get caught right up! People are so sensitive about others talking in movies and on attractions. I say let everyone talk and film as much as they want.
You have been going to all of the places of my childhood. Knoebels, then we also went to Ocean City Md every summer and would drive up to Rehoboth 1 night of the vacation. I would always ride all the haunted houses. My favorites!

They had one at Great Adventure in Jackson New Jersey & I only went on it once. It was more opened. As we were going around I looked over to the guy next to me and he dissapeared!! The back had given away and the poor guy was killed. 😢😭

The Carrpetbagger i go on the haunted mansion every aummer with my dad and we are friends with the owner. Glad you enjoyed the ride! They put alot of time and effort into keeping in running and so far weve never had a problem!

I love this so much! Husband and I were wondering where you were going to end up once you got off the ferry. Delaware is my home town. Worked at Funland for a summer in college back in the 90’s. The epitome of what you’d think a summer working down the beach would be. From what I remember only select older Funland family members and very trusted long time employees were allowed to operate the Haunted Mansion. Sometimes workers would hide in the mansion to provide an extra jump scare opportunity. I believe there’s a photo op set up as you go through, too. Not sure if you saw that. I loved operating the Gravitron because I could bring in my own mix tape music to blast all night. So glad you got to experience such a great piece of Delaware history! Love the channel. A lot of great content. You’ve got a great sense of humor and love your commentary!

Great video, you sure did love that Haunted Mansion! 😱but the Gravitron oh my, you take another hit for your art! I’m sure someone has pointed out by now, those are tube stations signs for the London Underground in the British restaurant...Knightsbridge , Notting Hill Gate etc. And I hope you loved your cup of fabulous mushy peas along with your bangers and mash. It’s very difficult to find mushy peas here in the States, you’re very lucky, they complete every fish n chips meal in the UK yummmmm!

My 18 month old is obsessed with this video. We took him to Funland and on the haunted mansion a month ago and he loved it. Lol. Most of the little amount of screen time we give him is this video. 😂

I've been taking my kids, grandkids, and now my great grandson to Funland for over 45 years. This is a great small amusement park for kids as most rides are kiddie rides. The Haunted Mansion is great and always has a big line. You can't find a cheaper amusement park. What a great place.
Gravitron is one of my all time favorite rides from childhood!!! Fun Fact!!! Once the Gravitron reached top speed, the floor would drop out!!! You would be looking at the ground outside. I don't know when they took the feature away.

I am having an existential crisis rn because I have now seen two videos that confirm that the haunted mansion ride is less than five minutes long. When I was a kid and I did this ride, it felt like it took forever. I always kind of understood that being afraid messes with your perception of time, but I thought that the ride was about fifteen minutes long. It even felt that long the last time I rode it three years ago. Cannot believe this ride that scared the crap out of me as a child is only five minutes long. Damn.

Graviton it's one of my all time favorite amusement park rides! I remember the first time I rode I stood are the center bar and the attendant was like "uhhh no..."

Back in the 80s I spent a few summer holidays operating a Gravitron ride in the UK...Great fun , spinning around all day at 22 about 22 rpm (slightly lower speed than the American rides). I enjoyed it so much that thirty years on I bought it!!
My favorite dark ride ever since I was a kid.

My daughter and I really enjoyed seeing this. When we lived in MD we were so close but never visited this boardwalk! Gotta go there now! :)

I never like the Gravitron. The problem I have with it is that you're on these slanted walls and when the thing gets going, it feels like it's shoving all your organs up into your throat, making it hard to breathe. For gravity rides, my favorite is "The Rotor". With that one, you just stand against a wall in this cylinder, you stick to the wall, and the floor drops out from under you about 5 feet. It doesn't push your organs upward, so it's much more comfortable as these types of rides go.
Greatly enjoyed this lovely review of one of my favorite old school amusement parks! The beach location can't be beat, which is why generations of my family have been going there for... crap, thirty years? O.O
Some clarifications:
1. Don't know what the Devil is saying word-for-word, but he's basically trying to get you to sell your soul to him for the promises of fame, riches, and romance. As a formerly religious kid, it used to make me think... right before getting jump-scared with the always-great truck at the end.
2. That green stuff is called 'mushy pea', which is basically mashed peas, with or without spices. Looks like a fab restaurant, but I always went with the boardwalk fries and el cheapo pizza/hot dog, myself.
Okay this haunted dark ride was awesome! I love that you rode it three times. The "Gravitron" is giving me all the Stranger Things vibes.
In the British chippy (fish and chips) the green unknown (not a pudding Jacob) was mushy peas 😊 And Bangers (sausages) and mash should absolutely be served with gravy, it's sacrilegious not too 😮😮 If you have fish and chips it's standard to have them with mushy peas or curry sauce 😊 The signs are of London Underground (the Tube) stations. What a fabulous place Funland was, yet another Carpet Bagger video I thoroughly enjoyed 😊😊
That darkride is one of the last Bill Tracy décor/prop designed darkrides left. There's only a small handful of his attractions left. When I was a kid Wildwood was full of Bill Tracy darkrides. I'm surprised you thought the gravitron was extreme, its pretty tame and you can't get dizzy as its enclosed. Also all the claw machines in use now have timed pay out cycles including the one you played. I would like to visit this darkride in Delaware eventually. I hear the Bill Tracy darkride at Ocean City Maryland isn't that far away from this place.

Holy crap! I rode the Haunted Mansion sometime back in the 80's. It's always been one of my favorite dark rides. I remember the distinctive suspended cars and going up the staircase vividly! I was wondering if you were ever going to cover it because I forgot what it was called. Thanks man!
Best part of the Haunted Mansion is the Piano Players room, though have loved the Haunted Mansion ride since I was 4
