After boiling the urine they would consume it for the psychoactive effects while avoiding the negative aspects ibutenic acid.

starting this video i was like damn, someone died off magic mushies...but i was in such a huge SHOCK when he said amanita. I swear the first thing anyone interested in mushrooms is taught that you should stay away from them. Its crazy people would take, especially as psilocybin exists
it may be the first thing anyone casually interested in mushrooms learns, but if you do your research, you can eat them, both by paraboiling them to remove toxins and eat it as a cooked edible, or dried for various uses. I own an amanita muscaria tincture made by a mycologist. hamiltions pharmacopeia is a show with an episode all about amanita muscaria and it has really great unbiased information on the mushroom
Respiratory Arrest: Hyperactivation of GABAergic pathways in the medullary respiratory centers reduces sensitivity to hypercapnia (elevated CO₂) and hypoxia (low O₂). This results in central hypoventilation syndrome, progressing to apnea. Cardiac Arrest Mechanism: Secondary to hypoxia, myocardial tissue undergoes anaerobic metabolism, leading to lactic acidosis, intracellular pH reduction, and impaired sarcoplasmic reticulum Ca²⁺ cycling, culminating in ventricular fibrillation or asystole. Ischemic Cascade in Brain Cells: Depletion of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) disrupts Na⁺/K⁺-ATPase pumps, causing cytotoxic edema. Excessive glutamate release during hypoxia triggers NMDAR-mediated excitotoxicity, leading to calcium overload in mitochondria. Formation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) damages mitochondrial membranes, initiating apoptotic signaling cascades.
i saw a thing that said depending on the cell type 25%-75% of the atp produced goes towards driving the sodium potassium pumps (and nerves are toward the higher end)
Something that's natural is something that only benefits you, which is anything that tastes good. (Not including junk food and drugs since they're artificial)
Yehe I'm so sick of product that say this and is marketing as extra healthy because of this... Some times we need processing to remove har full natural ingredients...
@HaqiqaSeeker Nature is a cruel mistress. The list of harmful natural substances is much longer than the list of beneficial natural substances. This is a byproduct of interspecies competition, which is one of the main drivers of natural selection. Being able to eat and avoid being eaten has been the impetus for the synthesis of countless terrifying toxins.
I love the timelapse shots of these beauties, how their little skirts and spots pop out. So pretty. I had an adventure with A. pantherina way back in the day, over 25 years ago. Found them growing plentifully in so many trees' roots on a military base! They were dried thoroughly before consumption. Super euphoric, but the tracers were intense, really messed with vision, and the journey was 12+ hours. Do not recommend. But this goes to show how out of the loop I've been, I had no idea that "nootropics" containing amanita is now available in gas stations. Wild. I think most of the blame can be directed at Amway in the 1970s, beating the FDA in court. The supplement industry has been almost completely unregulated since. Thanks for sharing this one Dr. Bernard, I always learn something from you
Same argument could be made for alcohol, cannabis, icecream and many other things in life, which I think most people would reasonably agree if used responsibly can enhance ones life
You should avoid everything from the gas station except the gas, and even that's questionable. I do have a fun little travel size toothbrush I got at one though.
The actor in this one was very good! Edit: I foolishly bought gas station mushroom gummies one time. Found out the mushrooms in there didn't amount to anything but the main ingredient is 5HTP. I got a very unpleasant and scary spike in seratonin for about 4 hours. Just leave these things alone alltogether.
i like this youtube channel because they explain situations that actually happen and recreate it with accuracy and is very good, with attention to detail and over reviewed explanation that is simply just correct.
No physician is going to tell you that you need Amanita mushrooms of any kind. So the determination to use it is entirely on the user believing that they need it all on their own. I've never "felt" like I needed mushrooms of any kind. "Chanterelles and Morels are an altogether different story" . No mushroom is worth dying for.
I haven't tried it myself, and don't like magic mushrooms (or mushrooms in general), but I've heard that muscimol is more of a disassociative rather than a psychedelic. As in, where magic mushrooms will make you trip and see stuff, you'll be able to have reasonable certainty that it is hallucinations, whereas muscimol will make you trip, but you won't realise you're tripping. See: "angels trumpets" for a flower you've probably seen recently, and an extremely powerful disassociative (which was commonly used by housewives in tea parties). They are deadly at very low doses, but threshold doses will make someone seem hysterical.
Advanced Critical Care Interventions Therapeutic Hypothermia: Reduction of core body temperature to 33-35°C minimizes cytokine-mediated neuroinflammation and preserves BBB integrity by inhibiting matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs). Targeted Organ Perfusion: Use of vasopressors (e.g., norepinephrine) to counteract hypotension from neurogenic shock, ensuring perfusion pressure in vital organs while managing risks of systemic ischemia. Mechanical Ventilation: Implementation of controlled ventilatory support with positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP) to prevent alveolar collapse during compromised respiratory effort.
Yikes! Aminita muscaria is known for for having unpredictable potency and it's always suggested to be consumed as a tea for this exact reason. He ate the caps! There's really no telling how much muscimol he dosed himself with. 😬
Always get a laugh out of asking anyone who claims that "natural" ingredients cannot harm humans if they would eat deadly nightshade berries or destroying angel toadstools.
I like that you said if you're going to use something as a medicine, treat it as a medicine. Do your research, know what you're getting into, get it from a reputable source, and for the love of god use a proper dosage and don't just take a bunch because you think "taking more will always equal more benefits" because that's not how anything works
We have those growing under our pine trees every year. I know some people trip on them, but people trip on mescaline too, and boy I found that was a mistake, so no, not ingesting the yard shrooms.
Rules of picking wild mushrooms.. if you are not 100% sure, don’t eat it.. you need a minimum of two books for ID, don’t mix mushrooms together, always wipe your knife in between cutting.. and make sure to respect rule no. 1 and get info.. morels are toxic raw! But five stars when cooked ❤
I absolutely love this one! Superb teaching, wonderful production values! Fascinating story, well-told! -Emia means presents [sic] in blood! 💖🎄😊 Thanks!
You need to clarify “mushrooms” cus you certainly can. Amanitas are not psychedelic. They are psychoactive but none of the components are the same as psilocybin mushies., AND they have been online and safer than most OTC drugs for decades. More people are harmed from Tylenol than amanitas. More people are harmed from aspirin even. A general dose of amanitas is an eighth to a quarter oz of dried prepped (heated). Psilo is usually safer to start with a gram. Some are wildly strong, like aborts of Golden Teacher. Eat an 1/8th of amanitas and you’re good, you can work. an 1/8th of psilocybin and you need to call off work.
@@extrullorgd4444you can safely eat them if you prepare them right, you need to get rid of ibotenic acid as much as you can by converting it into muscimol
"if it's natural then it can't hurt me" is one of the most ignorant and naive statements i ever heard. shame that this man's belief in that idea caused such a horrible situation, but unfortunately it's his fault for not bothering to do (apparently) any research into what he was doing
If you haven't watched the video mentioned here, in which Joe Rogan interviews Paul Stamets, I highly recommend you to do it. Paul tells the story of this huge biker guy who gets caught in what is known as repetitive motion syndrome after eating amanita pantherina. The person basically becomes a zombie and is helplessly 'forced' to repeat a certain action. Anyway, this biker guy kept climbing some rocks and then proceeded to throw himself off of them. Again, and again, and again. The height wasn't enough to kill him, but he got pretty badly injured. Mushrooms, and their ability to mind-control even complex brains like ours, are immensely scary.

Those fairy tale red and white polkadot mushrooms from the stories will kill you. They are extremely poisonous
starting this video i was like damn, someone died off magic mushies...but i was in such a huge SHOCK when he said amanita. I swear the first thing anyone interested in mushrooms is taught that you should stay away from them. Its crazy people would take, especially as psilocybin exists
Yeah I think it's very unheard of for someone to die from psilocybin
it may be the first thing anyone casually interested in mushrooms learns, but if you do your research, you can eat them, both by paraboiling them to remove toxins and eat it as a cooked edible, or dried for various uses.
Ischemic Cascade in Brain Cells:
Depletion of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) disrupts Na⁺/K⁺-ATPase pumps, causing cytotoxic edema.
Yay, a Chubbyemu video just 7 days after the previous one
“All natural is healthy!” So is dog poop, poison ivy and rattlesnake venom.
Something that's natural is something that only benefits you, which is anything that tastes good. (Not including junk food and drugs since they're artificial)
Strychnine, Muscimol, Scopolamine...
Yehe I'm so sick of product that say this and is marketing as extra healthy because of this... Some times we need processing to remove har full natural ingredients...
@@MemenativeNightshade, natures’s sweet, sweet candy 👏👏 love it
@HaqiqaSeeker Nature is a cruel mistress.

Bernard, I always learn something from you
Learning that thebrain actually damages itself again as the heart starts beating again in insanely interesting O.o

Avoiding gas station sushi, nacho cheese, and mushrooms now
You should avoid everything from the gas station except the gas, and even that's questionable.
Hamilton Matthews, great acting, loved it! I love these videos, so informative and scientific, combined with great acting, fantastic!
lol... 🤔🤔 I was thinking you meant ''Hamilton Morris''🤔🤔
TWO in December?! We are being spoiled! I hope you have a wonderful holiday season!

i like this youtube channel because they explain situations that actually happen and recreate it with accuracy and is very good, with attention to detail and over reviewed explanation that is simply just correct.

This is a huge step up in production quality, well done!
The actors in these videos are just great!
And quite the new actor, indeed. Makes a great silent film star. ❤😊
I'm proud of Brendan for bringing a sample of the mushrooms that MA had overdosed on.
Chubbyemu videos are so much fun. The skits are at times absurd and campy, and you learn something about bio/chem/medicine.
The quality is insane
Chubbyemu dropped AGAIN?! Merry Christmas to us 😂
Advanced Critical Care Interventions
Therapeutic Hypothermia: Reduction of core body temperature to 33-35°C minimizes cytokine-mediated neuroinflammation and preserves BBB integrity by inhibiting matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs).

The good ole Gywenth Paltrow way of living. Nothing that’s natural can possibly be bad for me…
I like that you said if you're going to use something as a medicine, treat it as a medicine. Do your research, know what you're getting into, get it from a reputable source, and for the love of god use a proper dosage and don't just take a bunch because you think "taking more will always equal more benefits" because that's not how anything works
Doctor, this has got to be one of your best videos, thank you!

Whats fucked up is they sell that kind of mushroom in gummies.
You can’t just eat mushrooms like that, and certainly not a large amount, you can have underlying health risks you are not aware of
Well thanks captain obvious. This video shows that.
You should not eat fly agarics at all
@@extrullorgd4444you can safely eat them if you prepare them right, you need to get rid of ibotenic acid as much as you can by converting it into muscimol
"if it's natural then it can't hurt me" is one of the most ignorant and naive statements i ever heard. shame that this man's belief in that idea caused such a horrible situation, but unfortunately it's his fault for not bothering to do (apparently) any research into what he was doing
Perfect timing, just finished cooking! Thank you!
I had a friend die on LSD he walked into the ocean and never came back.
