    We grow this in our backyard as well here in the Philippines. We have been eating and consuming this since 2006 , we have been reaping it's many many benefits specially my high cholesterol, hubby's sugar and high blood pressure all good now. My mother In law's ear drum has healed. My tooth filling which was cracked open now healed as well. Rheumatism and gird, wow! Our testimony over the years hats off to this very delicious plant.
    Oh! Did you know that you can plant this using its leaves?! The mature leaf you can just plant it in the soil, water it then you will see roots will start to grow. Awesome isn't it!!

      Wow that is absolutely amazing! I did not know that about planting the leaves. I'm so happy to hear of all the health improvement your family has had. I will definitely start more cuttings to make this available for my subscribers. Wow

    Good stuff! I wash and dehydrate my leaves with a food dehydrator so that I could grind them into a powder and sprinkle them onto my scrambled eggs and other food that I eat whenever I feel like I haven't been eating enough veggies. I also do this with my cranberry hibiscus leaves and my collard green leaves. I took a jar of mixed greens to my elderly uncle to sprinkle onto his food because he lives alone, and I want to make sure that he's getting the nutrition in his diet that he needs since he cooks for himself since my mom has passed away just in case I can't make it over there to cook for him because he rarely eats vegetables. He likes it. Thanks for sharing.

    That spinach looks so healthy. After growing large and being neglected, mine developed brown wilted leaves on the underside and I had to pull it all out. Harvested what I could off the top though which was growing in healthy. It's a big plant so there should be some new growth soon.
    I'm not crazy about the furry texture of longevity spinach, but still eat a lot of it regardless. I prefer now to mix it in a salad with other types of garden greens such as kale, green leaf lettuce and okinawan spinach.

    Hello from Puerto Rico. Recently bought 6 cuttings through Ebay. They arrived... sad... Anyway, took the 2 strongest and put them in ground, one didn't make it and the other seems to have taken hold now but still small. The sadder original 4 I placed in water for about a week and a half until I saw the barest of roots; they were in my room (a/c) and under a regular LED light. Then moved them to extremely wet self watering 4" pots. They are now outside and seem to be doing better than the one left in the ground. Will continue babying all 5 - ultimately, I just need one to survive!!! Hoping for the best...

      Hi there, sorry you lost a few. Soil should be moist, not overly wet. They're pretty hardy. Should come back. Make sure the soil is loose too so the roots can grow

    • @poorwotan
      @poorwotan 9 месяцев назад

      @@backyardfarmerpat Yeah, that's why the pot ones seem to be doing so well since drainage there is excellent (but ultimately, they will need to go into soil; 4" pots don't cut it long term - haha). We've had a good amount of rain lately which is weird as this should be the dry season before hurricane season kick in. I'll take it though! Thanks for the video!!!

    I wasn't sure if anyone else had mentioned it, but especially if you are in a warm climate, you can grow your peppers as perennials! My favorite variety is Sugar Rush Cream (Capsicum Baccatum species) and my oldest plants are both 5 years old, in 7-gallon containers, while I have another 3 plants each 2-3 years old :D
