California Gardening sir i have bought 5 kgs of perlite for my garden use and then i got a fine grade perlite i haven't read the information in amazon carefully and now i cannot return it because they don't have a policy on that till. So please tell me how to use powder perlite please reply please please other wise i will waste my all money😢😢
Do you think that longevity spinach could be grown hydroponically? I am very interested in growing herbs in a hydroponic set up. The spinach looks like it will get pretty large.
I put my plants in the greenhouse for winter and I had mice. It was all gone in one night. I wasn't going to replace it but being in Florida and having no bugs eat the plant is a plus. And it grows so fast. Loves the rainy season. I just throw it in my kale shakes. A year later... I finally decided to taste it cooked. It was so much better than regular spinach. I try not to over cook my food so I brought it up to a boil then shut it off. It was perfect.
I live in Atlanta, Georgia and was pleased to find that my longevity spinach came back in my raised bed. We get heavy frosts and snow here, and this tropical plant actually survived. I also have been getting malabar spinach to come back every year as well.
Great ,I live in east Texas and am looking for healthy plants to grow in my upcoming garden.I am looking into pigeon peas and Chaya and am wondering if they will come back after the cold winter.
@@formckee1 I also live in Alabama, in the North. What I do to save the longevity spinach for the next year is save the cutting just like what he did for planting but I put them in a glass of water. They will start to root. Makes it easy to plant in the spring.
I have an Indian friend that is an awesome cook. She taught me how to use and grow turmeric, mustard seeds, fenugreek and of course curry leaves! I'm grateful for what she shared. ❤️🌱☺️

So your pruning information was exactly what we needed to know. I enjoyed the recipe! I will be planting fenugreek and curry to cook with those leaves as well. What I love most about longevity spinach is how beautiful it is just as a plant that looks more like a house plant!
Finally made the recipe today and it was superb. I added a heavy dose of ginger. garlic. onions ,curry .Marsala, cayenne pepper and tumeric, It was so good
This plant is super easy to plant and it lives forever ( longevity 😊). I neglected it over the summer and recently set it by the sprinkler and it grows back so nicely, I love the plant! Just not sure how to consume it. Thanks for the info

It's winter here in florida. My spinach grew all over the garden area of my yard but the cold will knock it back for sure. I took several cuttings and put them in a jar of water. Ready for spring with roots.

Thank you so much for sharing your technique and how to grow the spinach and how to propagate it I was wondering what to do because I might just grill it up and up and up and up and I guess if I cut it it will grow stems from the side and that’s how it will make it fluffy I just bought more stems to put around it because it is growing tall… So now I cut the tops off and cook it and put it in a salad thank you again so much I did put the other stems that I purchase into the soil now I will start cutting my tops off and put them into the soil to make it a full or plant thank you so Subscribed and I’m looking forward to watching more of your videos keep up the good work
I’ve grown longevity spinach this summer on my balcony facing west. It has grown so big, I sometimes eat some of it. But now fall has arrived here in Canada. So I’ve brought it inside, unfortunately the leaves are weak and turned yellow. So now I’m thinking I’ll cut most of it from the top and propagate into smaller pots and share with neighbours. But I’ll also make stir fry and soup with some of the big green leaves.
I love in Barbados and at the .one t had two longevity spinach plants which I got from one of my sisters..sadly I have a lot of blight which attacks all my plants and trees and it has now spread to one of the longevity spinach plants. Thanks for the recipe.
In California also zone 10a. I have this plant in the ground now and it grows so well it’s crazy. I do have a pest (grasshoppers) that love hanging out and eat the plant. Still a great plant !

I have this plant in my garden my frie d from church gave it to me and she does not tell what type of plant. So i installed the plant identifier and the result is longevity plant spinach. Im shocked by the benefits and it already grew very well. I harvested it right away and ate it haha

Enjoyed watching your video. My Gynura Procumbens was growing so well and I would add it to salad, soups and smoothies and also eat them raw. But from August this year I faced a problem here in Pune. I noticed Giant African snails in my garden for the first time. They are night feeders and can destroy crops and that's exactly what they did feasted on my Talinum Triangulare, Malabar spinach, Gynura Procumbens, Gynura pseudochina etc. etc. I did not want to use pesticides in the garden. Initially I thought they would go away but then when I noticed my plants reduced to sticks, I had to make a decision save my plants or the snails, so got those snails picked up and put in a plastic bag containing salt. Please let me know if there's any other way of getting rid of those Giant African snails. I did manage to take cuttings of some plants and are water propagating them.

It's Southeast tropical, doesn't like cold or too much sun (4 hours). You can drink fresh tea if your harvest is limited. But when you have way extra, you can dehydrated the leaves and store it for tea.
I have 2 plants that are growing, but are growing slowly. Do you have any recommendations? I have one in morning sun and the other in afternoon sun, but both get 6-8 hours of sun per day. They are in small containers - maybe 3-5 gallon pots, with peat, compost, and perlite. I have added a little fish fertilizer every couple of weeks. I wonder if maybe they are getting too much sun? Yours seem to grow very quickly.

i would warn you to make sure if you do get them from Etsy that the plant is from the United States. If not you will not get your plant or cuttings because of customs. I got mine from bakercreek.

Hi, I love your videos, wanted to ask one thing about pomogranates. I have grown one from seed with no intention of eating the fruits, all i want is the flowers..so I want to know whether poms grown from seed bear flower or not, if yes then in which year ?
Longevity spinach is DELICIOUS raw, sweet and has a crunch to it. Mine has grown slowly since I purchased a plant one year ago. (Perhaps it is the 50°F nights during the summer. I also brought it inside for the winter as we have many temps below freezing.) I also have a Kalanchoe I bring in every winter. The Kalanchoe always has an outbreak of aphids in January. It was beside my Longevity Spinach plant and the aphids decided they liked the longevity spinach as well as the Kalanchoe and we have been fighting for ownership of my Longevity Spinach ever since. Anyone out there who knows how the help? (I've been mashing aphids, trying to spray them off with water, and then with soapy water...aphids keep coming back!) I have Caterpillars and Grasshoppers that eat mine. They love it. So everyday at night I have to go outside and get all the Caterpillars that are active when it is dark.

I found it at a local garden store. I am sure you will get it in nurseries and garden centers in your area.

Can this be used for green curry
Add a pinch of black pepper to your turmeric to get the true health benefits from your turmeric. The curry leaves make a nice touch.

Most likely powdery mildew, prune affected leaves and allow new leaves to grow
