KissTheViolin bananas have melatonin so it helps make you calmer. Melatonin is also a chemical your brain produces before sleep so people will also tell you to eat a banana before bed (I haven't tried). Eating a banana before performances does seem to help though, at least for me.
Make her get lasic eye surgery and when she comes home with pads on her eyes you duct tape her mouth and tie her to a chair and throw her in the garage with a box of tampons.
Regarding the second tip for unwrinkling clothes: save water by using an open electric tea kettle. I've gotten as much steam as a 10 minute hot shower with one cup of water. Might be using the rosin on the peg tip. Thanks!
I have the same shoulder rest as you. I struggled 4 years with it slipping off!! Found a solution in replacing the “feet” with some from a kuhn shoulder rest. The new ones are a lot longer/ wider (?) then the old ones so they have more rubber that can stick to the violin
This video probably should've been titled "Life hacks for String Players," because a majority of this stuff doesn't apply to other classical musicians, you know: the trumpets, trombones, tubas, horns, flutes, clarinets, oboes, percussionists, and plethora of others.
I love the video c: I have to put it into practice in the future At the moment I am a beginner haha~ and learning to play the violin is so difficult for me ;.;
Careful with the rosin trick. Rosin is abrasive and will damage the wood in your pegbox over time. This trick is good for an emergency repair but in the long run you need to have a luthier fit the pegs properly so that they function as intended.
omgg i wish i knew the rubber band thing sooner. i just had my all county strings concert this week and my shoulder rest fell off like five times🤦🏻♂️ what made it worse was that i was principal second so i needed to be playing
I'd like to time-travel back to when I performed a lot, and try that eating a banana trick for nerves. I can see telling my younger self "Here, try THIS for your stage fright," and having him give me that LOOK I normally get from other people. :)
WAIT! Is that background music "all i wanna do is see you turn into a giant woman" instrumental? I watched this video 3 times, how come I only notice now??
is it really that important to use humidifier or it depends or the weather condition ? I heard it's better to leave your violin always with humidifier unless you're in concert
Hey! Buying a violin can be a very personal thing since everyone has different tastes on what sounds they like as well as how much they are willing to spend. My violin is a modern violin made in the states, and I like it because it has a bright and clear sound. But if you like a darker warmer tone, an older violin might be the way to go! Hope that helps :)
Probably to maintain a certain temperature inside your case. I had an incident recently where I was practicing in a cold room and it was really humid outside. The fire alarm went off and I packed up quickly to leave the building, and that sudden change in temperature caused the water in the air inside my case to condense on my violin and my bow. It was fine but I learned an important lesson that day.
Jonatrus if that doesnt work, put the clothing on and blast with a hairdryer, stretching the wrinkles our as you do. Hope this helps, do it all the time.
I do not recommend letting that much water run, just to unwrinkle cloth. It is a huge waste of water. I do blieve it is better to do it while you take a bath.
It's usually a tiny rubber device that you stick on your bridge to change the tone of your violin. It makes it sound darker and softer :) hope that helps!
*try eating a banana before preforming*
Me who is deadly allergic to bananas: *reaches for one slowly*
@Kachuluin F

What is benefit of it? Tell us please

I have some questions! How long have you been playing? Are you in college?!? What’s your normal practice routine? ☺️
I have the same shoulder rest as you. I struggled 4 years with it slipping off!! Found a solution in replacing the “feet” with some from a kuhn shoulder rest. The new ones are a lot longer/ wider (?) then the old ones so they have more rubber that can stick to the violin
Hello Esther,
Could you give us any tips on flying with an instrument?
Did you ever have any problems flying with your violin?
Hey! I'll make a video in the near future about it :) Thanks for the suggestion!
This video probably should've been titled "Life hacks for String Players," because a majority of this stuff doesn't apply to other classical musicians, you know: the trumpets, trombones, tubas, horns, flutes, clarinets, oboes, percussionists, and plethora of others.
But some of these will still apply to other classical instruments

Violinist aren't the only classical musicians
Martina Val That's why these tips are generic, so they apply to all classical musicians. I will be able to use most, if not all of them as a cellist

What’s the humidifier for? ☹️

Where could I find a new humidifier
I never been able to make the "put wrinkled clothes in the shower" work, any tips?
Jonatrus if that doesnt work, put the clothing on and blast with a hairdryer, stretching the wrinkles our as you do. Hope this helps, do it all the time.
Teagan P Thanks!
What's a humidifier? Im still a newbie
A violin humidifier is used to make sure your instrument doesn't crack in a very dry environment! Hope that sorta helps :P
How often do you change orange peels
You should probaby change them every couple of hours :)
