I have 2 cats at home, theu're about 14 years apart and obviously have very different regimen so I had to seperate them during their meals. The younger one learnt to open doors by the time he was 7 months old. Fun times... ^^; Now I can't even take a shower alone in a warm closed room, he will open the door to find me! :D
LOVE these ideas! So simple and yet so effective! Also, when tying the felt spider legs, coming from a fisherman's wife, if you fold left over right on the first knot, then you should fold right over left on the second knot. Much more secure. I'm totally making the felt spider for my Cosmo! He will love it!
My cats favorite home-made cat toy is fabric bouncy balls. They are super cheap and easy to make, it just involves basic sewing. *Step one:* Get some bouncy balls, not too big but not too small either. You don't want them to swallow it but it also has to fit in the finger tip of a glove. Approximately the size of a ping pong ball. (You could also use a ping pong ball but my cat personally likes heavier toys) *Step two:* Get some fabric gloves. *Step three:* Put the bouncy balls in the fingers of the gloves. Push the ball all the way to finger tip. *Step four:* Sew the ball securely in the finger tip. *Step five:* Cut the sewn ball off the glove. That's it! My cat adores these balls. They're safe and easy to make. You can get a pack of 5 balls and a pair of gloves at the store for about 2 dollars. My cat will walk around with them in his mouth and drop them down the stairs to chase them. They're great shelter toys too because you can make a lot of them cheaply.
For the Fleece spiders, you can also use lids from various plastic containers that you cut the top out of, such as a pringles can or yogurt/sour cream container
That's exactly what I do. I just double them up and twist them into a mini wire rod and twist different sizes on it for a centipede or spider or anything they like. The cats will let you know what the like!
I got so inspired by your toys that I made several for my local shelter here in Munich, Germany. One thing I changed was with the pipe cleaners: even after bending the ends back and twisting them in, the sharp wires still stuck me, so I wrapped them with non-toxic children's craft tape just to be safe.

Honestly a really awesome idea I had never thought of and I can't wait to start making some soon!
You can also take them and tie them on a rod and put it up in guinea pig cages. They love walking through it and it can be a good way to provided a sense of security to an area of the cage

Great instructions too very easy to see and fellow. 👍 😺 Hope all had a Happy Thanksgiving.
Thank you so much for mentioning that wand toys should only be used with supervision. The other volunteers used to think I was the meanest foster mom because I took the wand toys out of the kitten cages every time I saw them in there. I think they thought I was overreacting. Then one day a volunteer was panicking because a kitten had one wrapped so tight around its neck they could not get it off. I grabbed the kitten and ran down to the surgery suite for bandage scissors and the vet tech and I were able to safely cut it off before the kitten was injured but it was close.

Recently adopted a rescue kitten and he ADORES the pipe cleaner twirls. If I hadnt seen this video he would have never discovered his love for them! Who would have thought pipe cleaners twirled up make such a fun kitten toy!!
I volunteer with Madison Cat Project in Madison, WI. We sometimes receive donated fleece blankets and toys made of pipe cleaners that aren't really useful as received (too small, not washable, ends left sharp, etc). I love that with a little effort, we can make these well-intended donations into something really useful, safe and fun!
This video reminds me of the time that my siblings and I made fleece catnip mouses with my aunt. They were so fun to make and we got to take them to several shelters in Salt Lake City.
I am a foster kitten mom and have brought many litters into my home to love, heal, socialize or whatever they need until they are ready for their forever home. Cheap toys are a must because unless we can bleach it or wash in hot water, they need to be thrown away between litters. I love these ideas and am going to try them all. They are all so different and each little personality likes a different kind of toy. Love this. Thank you!!
I’m getting my kitty bandit either today or tomorrow and I’ve been binging on all of your videos🥺 she’s 12 weeks old and previously had a breathing problem but she’s about to finally go to her furever home❤️
Hey Hannah. Such a cute video. I made some of the pipecleaner toys for my kittens and the toilet paper roll toys. They loved them!!!!. I'll have to try making the ping pong ball ones for them next. Love watching your videos.
I made the spider one for my kittens and they love it! I took yarn and tied it around the ring, then I attached it to the ceiling. My kittens play with it all day!
For me, my cats LOVE to tear apart my hair ties so I got some hot glue and 4 hair ties. I hot glued them into a ball and they both love it so much and I'm happy because my hair ties can live!
I have 9 cats inside and two outside yard bosses... I’m going to be busy! They’ve managed to wear out most of their toys, so your video was such a breath of fresh air... fun and easy stuff that the cats will enjoy for sure! These toys all look like win-wins to me... I know my kitties and they’re going to love them! I will let ya know how it went 👍 thanks, again!
Thank you so much! My blind rescue (born without eyes) is coming up on 8 years old and loves noisy toys but the good ones that don’t come apart can be so hard to find!
Thanks for this! I’m sharing it with my friend shes 11 and she has a tiny white kitten named iris. She already made iris a toy with stuff from her home but iris broke it 😁 This is great for her I’m liking and sharing it with my friend
I've found out my new kitten loves my failed crochet projects! I make sure the ends are knotted off so it wont unwind and he moves pawing and chewing them. (I use baby yarn that is super soft and gentle)
I used to have loads of pipe cleaners in a craft box I had, I left it out one day and when I came back from school they were all over the floor. To this day my cat still plays with those pipe cleaners, he likes to keep them near his food.
My girl will love to make some of these for our adopted kitty. Wish I had seen this for our 4H kiddos before they took their donations to our local shelter. The younger kids will love this.
I made that flying one for my white cat(lily).., was making in front of only..while i was making the toy she was very curious and was playing already..she is enjoying the toy very much.. Xoxo Thanks kitten lady!
And another great and fun toy my cats love is the Easter egg ball. You take an Easter egg left over from Easter and you open it and take a marble and then you lose the egg and you can then decorate it with tape or ribbon and then you’re cat can play with it all they want!
my old cat never really liked to play with toys much. I bought a new kitten yesterday and she's just so energetic and loves toys she even has her own teddy which she takes everywhere bless) so i'm excited that i can finally make and buy some toys for her :)
Something the humane society I foster for has(Central Oklahoma Humane Society) is just simply 3 strands of fleece braided together that are about 1-2 feet long. They can hang these from the tops of the wire cages and kittens LOVE them! Plus, it’s super easy to use to play with the kitten without opening the cage if you don’t necessarily want to(ie when I’m dropping a kitten off or just saying hi to all the babies!)
Omg! I've just made two of these as I've watched and it's delightful watching my kitten play with them! Also a great way to help my 6 year old daughter bond with the kitten {she is so scared of her!)
Hey. Now that your Kitten Room is all set, would it be possible to get a live stream? I know there's another channel here that does that, but to see your small, fluffy babies would be awesome.

One of the best toys I ever made for my cat was to comb her and then ball up the fur that comes off into as tight a little ball as I can. All cats think those toys and incredibly fun and they come from something I have to do anyway, which is comb them so they don't get clumps. Even the dog like the cat fur ball toys.
Basicly what cat lovers do • have a shirt that says future cat lady and has cats all over it like me • when theres no cat shirts in your closet theres nothing to wear • Your bedsheets , blankets , walls , pillows and cup have cats all over them like me • you draw cats all the time • you do evrything with your cat
These are so cool I'm definitely going to make these. My kitten will also love these. I've loved you channel for so long and I know I'm not early. But I hope you know how much of an inpact you've had on my life. You've helped me learn do much about my bottle baby's and how yo care for them. With you the world is a better place!
My cat use to love hairties, but because they were dangerous for him since he liked to eat them--I would make rings out of pipe cleaners that he went nuts over. I also use to crochet him simple toys with a long braid string and a finger loop. This way I could throw it, move it, and bring it back afterwards for him. He always loved the toys I made for him over anything I bought for him. My boy passed away this past Saturday after 18 years, I miss him so much so I've been binging these videos to help.
My cat is 15, and she loves anything that rattles. Toys and playtime is critical for senior kitties; it keeps them in shape and through play you can better pick up any changes in the older kitties mobility or focus.

Hi kitten lady I've watched you videos for years but this is the most like my already owned cats cuz they LOVE 💘 toys 😊
Rainy day, perfect for making my kitten toys! I’m getting him/her tomorrow.
Thanks! 🌼 😻
Awww! I’m definitely gonna make these! Love your channel!
Dragons Fly that’s so cool!
Love this. Thank you!!
My sister and I are going to make a bunch of these toys this Christmas season, and donate them to our local shelter along with some blankets! 💕🐱
Just a word of caution, a hanging toy should always be used with supervision. A cat can easily get a tail, leg or neck caught.
i build the toilet paper one for my 3 year old cat and she is going wild on it :D
that's awesome!
thank you!
In the rodent thing, I put pom Pom balls all around mine! The cats love them!!!!!!!! THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO!
For me, my cats LOVE to tear apart my hair ties so I got some hot glue and 4 hair ties. I hot glued them into a ball and they both love it so much and I'm happy because my hair ties can live!
My cats are happy with just the string swinging in the air by itself. 😂
These are so creative! I’m going to make some of each!
I made the first one,the ping pong one, and the last one! Our kitten loved it
❤
Yay!!!!! I love this so much! Thank you! ❤️ I can’t wait to get started!
Awesome! Let me know what you make!
🥰😂
I like entertaining kittens more than anything!
The ping pong balls were the best. Would really love to see how the fleece pad/bed at 1:47 was made.
Thanks for this! I’m sharing it with my friend shes 11 and she has a tiny white kitten named iris. She already made iris a toy with stuff from her home but iris broke it 😁
This is great for her I’m liking and sharing it with my friend
❤
I've found out my new kitten loves my failed crochet projects! I make sure the ends are knotted off so it wont unwind and he moves pawing and chewing them. (I use baby yarn that is super soft and gentle)
😂❤🎉
I’m sitting here hand sewing mice for shelter cats and my cat is trying to steal them
Wonderful! Great ideas, they look awesome! Thank you two! 🎊🎊❤️ My favourite one is the balls, indeed, the sound is cool for the cats 😂🐱
I used to have loads of pipe cleaners in a craft box I had, I left it out one day and when I came back from school they were all over the floor. To this day my cat still plays with those pipe cleaners, he likes to keep them near his food.
I am a person my late cat would keep hers inside the bowl lol
😂🥰
My girl will love to make some of these for our adopted kitty. Wish I had seen this for our 4H kiddos before they took their donations to our local shelter. The younger kids will love this.
I made my cat a shaker ball and the pipe cleaner toy AND HE LOVES IT
😂❤
I made that flying one for my white cat(lily).., was making in front of only..while i was making the toy she was very curious and was playing already..she is enjoying the toy very much..
Xoxo
Thanks kitten lady!
❤
Hi Hannah! I made alot of the pipe cleaner spiral toys and I'm going to give them away to the SPCA in my area!
And another great and fun toy my cats love is the Easter egg ball. You take an Easter egg left over from Easter and you open it and take a marble and then you lose the egg and you can then decorate it with tape or ribbon and then you’re cat can play with it all they want!
My cats when ever I make them a toy they look at me and are thinking “whoa! You made something!” ~sarcastic clap~
Adorable! My cats will LOVE these! Thank you sooo much!
Thank you. I’ve wanted to make one of these for a while. Now I can make many
My granddaughter scheduled me for craft day to make cat toys. These are perfect! Thank you young ladies for saving my day!
This vid is really great, I took in three kittens a week ago for my three teenage daughters, and toys can get expensive. Thank you for sharing.
my old cat never really liked to play with toys much. I bought a new kitten yesterday and she's just so energetic and loves toys she even has her own teddy which she takes everywhere bless) so i'm excited that i can finally make and buy some toys for her :)
I'm going to make some with my daughter for the kittens we're fostering for the Ottawa Humane Society!
This video is awesome! I reached out to someone who works at a shelter, and I asked if I could make some cat toys. She said yes, and sent me the link!
Hey. Now that your Kitten Room is all set, would it be possible to get a live stream? I know there's another channel here that does that, but to see your small, fluffy babies would be awesome.
Cool! I have a couple cats and will definitely make these toys for them! I also want to donate some to my local humane society!

And in the end the most important thing
Is that we never forget
The end of a shoelace is called the...
The uhhh...
Wait a minute! It doesn't matter
I can't beleive I was almost sucked into this!

I can't believe you still don't know the word
I mean we spelled it a bunch of times in the song!
Basicly what cat lovers do
• have a shirt that says future cat lady and has cats all over it like me
• when theres no cat shirts in your closet theres nothing to wear •
Your bedsheets , blankets , walls , pillows and cup have cats all over them like me
• you draw cats all the time
• you do evrything with your cat
I’m so exited for my cat to enjoy fun of cat toys :)
Succes!! Meh cat loves them
These are so cool I'm definitely going to make these.
❤
I love this!! I want to make some right now! Love the toilet paper roll one. 😊
That's adorable! Personally my home felines like pipe cleaners! I bend it around my finger until it's like a tube and throw it! My cats love it :3
My family has older cats would theses work with them?
For sure! Cats of all ages can enjoy these toys.
My cat is 15, and she loves anything that rattles. Toys and playtime is critical for senior kitties; it keeps them in shape and through play you can better pick up any changes in the older kitties mobility or focus.
I bought a bottle of catnip in liquid from and spray it on fabric and paper/cardboard based toys and it got my older cats to start playing again.
i dont have everything but im improvising! these are so creative. i hope my new kitten will like these.
