This is probably the best interpretation I ever heard of the prelude of the 3rd suite for lute by Bach. The rythm is perfectly hold no matter how difficult the fingering is, the articulation is clear and precise and the whole thing is very expressive and sensitive. I love it.
This very difficult piece is played with grace and quiet self-assurance. Even a musical semiliterate like me can predict a distinguished future for this young virtuoso.
Bravo Jack! Although I look forward to these GSI videos everyday, I rarely comment. But the Davisson guitarists always leave such an impression on me, that I have to comment. This one took me to church with the perfect blend of virtuosity and sensitivity without overly romanticizing. Just magnificent. And congratulations to GSI for a sound worthy of cathedrals. Bravo!
What’s awesome is to watch it even without the sound you can appreciate the subtleties of movement of strumming hand relative to his fretting hand, how they both seamlessly float on top of the guitar while he grips the guitar at three points, pinching with his thighs and digging his chest cavity into the guitar!! 😇😇😇😇😇😇😇
The Davisson kids are both beyond their years. The maturity level is quite refreshing given how so many other non classical guitarists are not in their league. The smooth fingering transitions up and down the neck shows confidence yet delicate maturity and precision.
@Konstantin Ridaya I see your point. However, John did so much for the guitar, just as much as Andrés Segovia. That's the reason for the hype towards williams. Now, if you like his playing or not that's very personal. And a good interpretation of a piece is not measured by how long it takes you to finish. Williams interpretation of Asturias is the best regarding tempo and phrasing
To be outstanding from other guitarists at such a young age makes Jack the prime candidate for a future worlds best. Good luck Jack! Hope you enjoy your journey.
Very nice both guitar and player. Nothing matches a good well balanced traditional guitar. Wish his personal guitar was a super good traditional guitar not the bassy, nasal, double top Canin
Yet another saved video for this young man.
What a treat for Bach lovers everywhere👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Astonishing performance !!
Request : Chaconne d-Moll by J.S. Bach.
気が着くと【放心状態】で聴いて居た。おそらく・・作曲者であるバッハ氏も吸い込まれるように聴いて居ると思う。この上は、欲だが、あの有名なシャコンヌを聴かせて欲しい。
Way to own it, Sir!
Grandioso, felicitaciones!!

I think in 10 years he will play another Bach than today's fast sprint playing.
