Girl!!!! Have I told you I love you and your ideas?😍😍😍 Great job as always!
🥰🥰🥰
I must admit when you put up the brick paneling, I wasn’t a fan! But this German schmear technique is awesome!! I love it! You are genius and so talented!❤️
Yeah I didn’t like the regular brick either. Always had a plan 👍🏻
I've seen buildings and walls like this, I've just never seen how they achieved it! So thank you Shannon. Also can't wait to see the tour of the She- Shed!! Thks Shannon 😎❣🎯
❤️❤️❤️
I've alw likD this 'look' 2 but nevR knew it had a name! Jus thought it was weathRD like that?! Same 4 shiplap...alw like paintD panelN. Come 2 find out it's basically shiplap! Wish RUclips woulda been around sum 30"ish" yrs ago when I was startN out! ;( Really great tutorial Shannon!
Thanks, L
can you tell us where you got the panels and what size they are? I would have to have them delivered so I wondered what they are called so I can look them up
Hmmm what's the top coat? Another Rd of the paint w brush then flour sack rag?
I'm thinking of doing this on our brick fire place. Has one or two spots where the mortar is cracked. Does this have to be fixed first? I live the look...ever since seeing on HGTV Chip Gaines did to treat a home exterior that was blonde brick. Mine brick is redder like yours. Thx great class today 🤓
Love this!!
Thanks Joan!
I would have skipped the spackle because it really makes the seam stand out! Otherwise it looks great!
I agree 😬
Really beautiful Shannon! 😍 Watching all your hard work inspires me SO much!!! I'm working on redoing my craft room which is nothing compared to what you are doing but it's still really motivating and inspiring and I'm glad you are sharing it all! Great job!! 🤗💖👍
That can be a big project too! I’ve done that before. So much though and organization It’ll be worth it!!
Id love to hear any updates April! I'm doing something similar to my wife's workshop. It's small, but I love to see her reaction every time I do an update.
I have seen this type of painting all my life, but never knew what it was called! I really like it now, thanks to you.
I wonder if you could do that with wood paneling...now, I mean real wood, not panel board. Mine needs help. I need something to fill all those spaces between the sections. I had considered joint compound. I just know it needs a facelift. I really like the look of this. 👍🏻
Hi Shannon great job looks good 👍 TFS enjoy your day 💕♥️💕
I’ve been wanting to do this in my kitchen!! You’re tutorial is the best I’ve seen. So glad I procrastinated 😉 Now I can use your technique! Thank you!
So glad to hear that!! Best wishes with your project!
Great instructions..never heard of this but it looks so nice..great job..tyfs♡
Hey Shannon. Great idea for the wall? What made the seam stand out so much?
I love this so much. Thank you for the amazing tutorial. Do you think this would be ok in a master bathroom?
Great job 👍 wanting to do this to my mother's backsplash in the kitchen. Thanks for the awesome tips and all of your hard work. 🤗💞💕💓
I love it! I love your she shed, awesome! As always thank you for sharing! 😊
Thank you!
You are very welcome! 😊
I don't get it. I can still plainly see the seam between the panels. What do you do about that?
White was too heavy took away the look of the schmeer 🤔
Awesome idea looks great what a beautiful she shed
I would love to know how this is wearing over time?
Great job. It came out great. Love it.
This is a first for me.. Never seen this before at least the process. We have brick in our house for the fireplace that really needs a face lift. Can you tell me if white wash is a different process that is a little easier? I really like this idea just a little leary about the Schmear process. You always make it look so easy. Thank you for your time & many talents..
You do still use this technique on brick or your can white wash. Totally up to you. My panels didn’t have that mortar texture so I did the Schmear. If you have brick already you already have the texture and can just white wash. Totally up to you 👍🏻
You make everything seem doable Shannon and I absolutely love the way your wall turned out. I wonder if my mother would let me do this to her hearth. 🤔 LOL Thanks for sharing and I’m getting excited about seeing all the pieces of your she-shed come together. #HappyWednesday 🤗

❤️❤️❤️
Love German Schmear! I was concerned with the brick wall in your shed as it didn't seem to fit the space, now it's she shed fabulous!
Thank you!
I like it but maybe it’s too white no enough gray to contrast but then again it could look different in person very cool concept and technique
You can add gray paint during the white wash if you’d like
I like the wall, I'm just not crazy about how it covers half the barn door.
It’s a pocket door
I like the way it looks, it involves a lot of work. Don't know if I would have enough patience.
It really not that much work. Compared to everything we’ve done with the shed this was actually one of the easier projects.
So, after binge watching all the reno videos & now this one...I am thinking you & the fam need to come down to SC for an extended vacay! We can do lots of new videos while you & Brian help me! 😂 Meals & board included! ;) LOL
This came out awesome! Looks great.
I would love to whitewash our fireplace. The brick goes all the way up to the ceiling and it just makes that end of the room so dark. Unfortunately, my husband loves the brick. Thankfully, we are selling this house soon and building a new one - without dark brick around the fireplace!! Thank you for sharing the schmear technique. Your wall turned out really great. I can't wait to see the finished She Shed. God bless you and your family.
Looks great!
Thank you so much!!!
Do you think it was necessary to spackle the joints of the panels?
I would definitely skip this part next time
Wow totally amazing
My plan is to cover the dated Z Brick that is my backslash in my Kitchen with something similar. Thanks for sharing you technique.
Looking good.
Great idea 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😁👏
Will you have a sink and water in your she shed? Love this look
No. We weren’t able to run water to it
How long did it take to do this wall? Not counting overnight
Maybe 1- 1 1/2 hours with a break in there
So very pretty!
This is awesome! Love the look.
It's turning out just beautiful!
Love it great job
I love it!!!
What a difference that makes. It looks awesome.
Thank you!
That looks so good. Great idea.
Great job
my OCD can't help but focus on that seam though.
💞💞💞💞💞💞💞
💓💓💓💓
Looks awesome!
The paint wash over the spackle layer takes the effect up a notch. Nice.
Gorgeous!!
Great job, Shannon!!! I live in an apartment, and have always wished I could do this to a wall.
Looks amazing thanks so much for sharing, doing this on my backsplash this Summer 🤗👍🏻💕
Wow!!!
Now the panels are $40.,
🥲
Do you think it's plausible to do this technique and sealing to the cutout panels before they are installed so that I could work on them on my workbench vs on the wall?
You can! Then just work on the seam when they are installed
Wow, it looks Fabulous, I LOVE it😍😍😍😍
Beautiful! Why didn’t you make the doorway wider into the office part so that you could see more of that beautiful door?
The office has a long counter top work surface I desperately needed behind the brick wall. The pocket door opens and you can see it all from the open area 👍🏻
Awesome! I love how you two work together ..... nice look. I love the pocket doors. Can’t wait to the finished reveal.Thats some she shed your creating👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🦋
❤️❤️❤️ Cute that you would add the 🦋 That’s me and Brian’s symbol of extra love ❤️ Like heart butterflies. 😊
This is badass! Thanks for sharing this technique Shannon!!!
Beautiful!
love the pocket door! this treatment looks great! thanks
Yay! I have been waiting patiently for this ! It looks great, Shannon!!!
It looks amazing, can’t wait to see the next project👍🏻
Oooh Shannon that turned out WONDERFUL!! I used the same panels in my kitchen and been wanting this same look just was on the fence. When I heal up I'm definitely doing this!! I'm so in love with your shed!! ♥️♥️♥️
I hope you heal quickly too ❤️❤️❤️
I'm getting ready to so this in my diningroom!
It is so gorgeous Shannon!
Thank you!
Looks great. My husband and I whitewashed our fireplace over the weekend. We love it.
Very cool!
Could the same look be achieved by just painting and lightly sanding to distress??? That first step looked like it would be very tiring especially to the wrists. I like the look though. Have a Blessed day.
You can just whitewash but you won’t get that beautiful texture the joint compound adds. I’m all about textures. And really adding it wasn’t bad at all!!
@@TheDailyDIYer OK Thanks.
Looks great Shannon...🥰😘🇦🇺
You did a great job covering the seam, good job
I love this technique. How long did it take to complete the wall before painting?
Probably 1- 1 1/2 hours with a break in there
It looks great Shannon! I'm looking for a tree like that for three baby's nursery, is it the ikea one?
It is!
I will try the zippering at the seam. Really love the look, especially with that pocket door
I thought for sure that the seam was going to show in the end product but it doesn’t it looks fantastic! Great job!!
Thank you!
It does look so much prettier with your touch! 💜
I'd never heard of that type of wall (technique) before, I love it!! It turned out so cool!! Your she she'd is really coming along!!
Thanks Tonya!!
Love your creativity but I think I would've skipped all that and just got white faux panels
You could but I wanted the beautiful texture and more of an authentic look. Or as close as I could get.
That's why you have a successful RUclips channel/business Shannon and I'm a spectator lol
You did a great job!! I cant wait to see the end of the she shed. You have to hurry!! LoL
Thank you Kathie!! I’m hurrying lol! Everything seems to take twice as long as it should... 😬
Love it- it looks amazing 😉
OMGOSH! LOVE that wall!! TY!
This technique turned out so nice!
I love a project I can really get my hands into, lol! Great job!
❤️❤️❤️
Love it so much!!!
I've been waiting to see this forever!!! I'm so excited!! Love this look! I done my kitchen like this. We also made a fake fireplace and I used this paneling to make the back wall of it, and white washed it too! Love it!!
That’s awesome!!
Kelly Thornton, did you use a different way of sealing it in the kitchen, so you can wipe it down? I want to do my back splash this way, but was curious to the sealer.
@@debrasiemen6705 No I didn't use a sealer. I wipe mine down a lot and doesn't hurt it at all. I have two teen boys which seem to splash water a lot and it doesn't hurt it at all. I also use Clorox wipes on it, works awesome.
Looks amazing!
I love how it turned out❣
Love the look.
Chalk painted mine. Easier and looks great
Totally can do that too!
