In the end, i think Cinder's plan was pure genious. Taking into account that the Breach hat to happen at the same time as all the shit at the Beginning of the End, if it all worked not only Beacon, but the entirety of Vale would have fallen (no atlesians to stop the Breach), and another Great War would have broken out immediately as it would have seemed that Atlas had helped destroy the kingdom. Only half of the plan worked, and Beacon still fell, Vale is in lockdown, most comms everywhere are down and everyone is pointing fingers. Cinder's plan was multi layered (breach, atlas hack, grimm invasion part 2, white fang), which is something we very rarely see in a villain.
Edoardo Prevelato true, but I believe secrecy also played a large role in the plan's success. As far as everyone was concerned, the enemy were a few splinter white fang members allinged with Rowan Torchwick, the true mastermind didn't have a face, and they severely underestimated the enemy's cunningness. They didn't anticipate the Atlas forces getting hacked or the Grimm reinforcements, as well as how deep the enemy was engrained. I believe that was the major factor why Haven didn't fall: awareness. As opposed to Beacon, Ozpin and the team were fully aware of what the enemy was capable of and how stacked the deck was against them, so they could plan accordingly despite the much lower numbers (thanks Lionheart). In contrast, Cinder and Adam weren't aware that reinforcements would have come from Menagerie, an island filled with a shell-shocked population, especially since they had already dispatched a force to make sure of that; and let's face it, even with all the planning Ozpin and co made, they STILL would have most likely failed had Blake not come: they were 9 people faced with a much greater force than they could handle alone
@@floricel_112 indeed, also Cinder was very smart in manipulating Adam (his decaying sanity helped a lot) into working with humans, a line no one would have thought the Fang would cross. And let's not forget the dragon: it was essentially Cinder's nuke.

Regardless of how they embark on their journey, I believe it is during this journey that they fall in love with the world and meet with the old man that is their father drinking his lives away who, inspired by his daughters's love and kindness (as well as the fact that he didn't kill them oh so ago), is remotivated to stop Salem. Considering they're the offsprings to two immortal beings (each with their own brand of immortality), I don't think it's too far fetched to assume they age at a much lower rate than regular humans do (it also explains why the powers are inherited in a way similar to Ozpin's reincarnation cycle). But it's still just my theory
