I wanted to record this vlog explaining why I sometimes use products that contain mineral oil and or petroleum on my natural hair.
I have used different products containing these ingredients such as the
Blue Magic Hair Grease
and the
Lusti Naturals Argan Oil Leave In
I just wanted to explain my view and opinion on the subject so my viewers/ subscribers will know where I stand on it and my reasons for using them:)
Here are the links to the tutorials using these products and the pictures shown at the end of this video:

my hair looooooves, grease!!!!I'll Neva give it up. I don't care what the people say. Back in the days our moms use it to press our hair. No one was bald! Now everyone bald! talking bout don't use grease😘😘😘😘😘😍😗😗
Donna Chesser lol!!
Donna Chesser Lol say that!! 😂👌🏾🙌🏾
Donna Chesser I swear I'm so happy to see this. Truth be told these new natural brands don't do didly squat for me. It'll be moistured for a day and the next day not so much. When I use products with mineral oil though, moisture lasts for days and feels strong. This is what we grew up on so why have we been made to think ewwww sister don't use that when that's what worked for us back then, our mamas weren't stupid
Donna Chesser LMAO GIRL YES.
Mary B yep ! I slap that grease on and my hair lovez it
I recently returned back to hair grease. After using all types of natural oils and still having dry hair. I am convinced that worked for me as a child still works today.
Same here! My hates everything Oils, Conditioners, Butters, Water (Sink Water,Spring Water, Distilled Water), and so much more.
What they don't tell you is that using too much oils can still dry out your hair....
@@semoneg2826 And even me using less it still dry me out, and trigger my Dermatitis when I use Grease I don't flare up, or itch.
I've always been natural. Grew up using blue magic, Dax, and TCB. I use blue magic and glycerin. My hair grows perfectly fine with these products and water. I don't have dust, lint, or dirt in my hair at all. Never had. I love grease!!!!
Lara Stroud That's wonderful to know! High fives to using what works:) Thanks for watching!
I just found this video. I have been feeling frustrated with mine and my daughter's hair buying all of these products. I remember using blue magic my hair was so beautiful and long I'm going back to grease.
Shay Na'Bre me too my mom use to use it on my hair so I'm going back to my old roots using blue magic Grease mixed with olive oil😀😄
It's a money scheme. I love my grease. Armpit length hair 2.5 years post big chop
@@rosecoolgirl8760 I grew up on simply Vaseline, Dax, and tcb grease
Shay Na'Bre yes
I'm from Trinidad in the West Indies.Growing up my mom would use grease in my hair.I had long healthy hair. She would make home made grease, using petroleum and adding different oils to it.We and when I say we I mean West Indian women and men were using grease in their hair and no one had a problem with it.Be it home made or store bought that was the staple product for natrual hair. The multiude of hair products on the market today was not in such abundance back in the day.If you wanted a nice head of bouncy curls....grease and water... nothing else was needed. So now when I see all the supposed negatives regarding petroleum and mineral oil, I simply say to myself, to each his own. There is a local song with the words "bring back the old time days".Very good vlog by the way.
I'm from Trinidad as well and my mom did the same thing; vaseline/bergamot/dax/ultra sheen and oils mixed till the vaseline was almost liquidy .....we did not use a lot and did not use it every day .....AND we washed our hair every Sunday evening.....we had long (past the shoulder blade) soft , healthy hair that everyone admired. I recently started using this mixture on my girls' hair (theirs are relaxed) and their hair condition improved greatly....no more breakage, long, thick and luxurious.
RICHARD NAPPY MYERS! "BRING BACK THE OLD TIME DAYS"

I'm Black, and Indian my hair ONLY likes Hair Grease. I tried the New School Products everything damaged it but Hair Grease did wonders, and no damage.
@@ceciliawade I'm a witness.....happened to me also.....hair seems to be thriving now. I think we were tricked to think it's bad.... propaganda is the devil. My fault! Can't blame nobody but me. Now I (we) know better.
My hair likes grease, particularly in the winter. You gotta do what works for you.
I totally agree! Thanks for watching ! ;)
Yep different hair types
I've been natural for 5 years and have tried many different products and various oils (jojoba, castor, EVOO, coconut) on my 4C hair. I felt like these oils were too lite for my hair. They all left my hair feeling dry and brittle. I know my hair has been growing, however the shedding and breaking has kept me from retaining all of the hair I've grown over the years, even though I wear protective styles 90% of the time. 4 months ago I decided to try something heavier on my hair so I used some soft sheen grease and let me tell you, my hair LOVES this stuff!! It's soft, moisturized, a lot more manageable, and does not frizz up. And, I have seen noticeable hair growth in that short period of time. Plus, I've had my best braid outs ever with grease. Its made me a believer, so Im sticking with it. Thank you for making this video!
That's great! I too feel like my hair soaks up the grease like a sponge, it never feels greasy and always washes clean once I'm ready to cleanse. It's all about preference and also individual hair needs. Thanks for sharing your experience & Thanks for watching:)
I have 4abc hair and have not been able to retain moisture since going natural 3 years ago. My hair is ALWAYS dry despite using she butter, olive oil, moisturizers etc. I also remember my grandmother using Vaseline on my hair as a child and it was down my back. I am going to try petroleum again...thanks so much for making this video.
Angie Sykes Hi ! thanks so much for watching! That sounds like a great idea to try!:) Let me know how it goes!! best wishes!
Yes, I remember my mom greasing my scalp and having really long hair when I was young, my mom still greases hair scalp and she has long beautiful hair down her back, I'm natural so I got away from using petroleum listening to ppl say its bad for u, well I just started back" greasing my scalp" and my hair is thicker and its growing.. so I will continue to use hair grease..lol...love your video queen💕
how often do you use it?
+lii woose replying for later use
I did the same thing. I have thin hair and it always grew when I greased my scalp regularly. I used some murrays on my end to set my hair and my hair loved it! I'm going back to patroleum asap!
OMG. My mom would use this grease on our hair also. We always had thick hair.My mom hair was down her back also. It was all about the Grease. I'm going back Old school.💥
I think we all called it "greasing your scalp"! (Lol) But I remember going back to natural earlier this year and not knowing much, so I just styled with grease. (Had pretty quick hair growth btw) But it slowed down when I started collecting all these products and learning that grease was "the hair devil". Last month I thought about it though, if it worked then, why not now? So I gladly went back and noticed change, and this just affirms that.
Lol! I wasn't sure, I grew up in a small southern town so I didn't know if everyone was familiar with that term haha! But that's an interesting story! It's funny sometimes my hair will do that , i think it has a mind of its own ! But that is great to know you were to get great results with it the second time around ! & thanks for watching! 😊
Ditto
In my experience hair grease is the best sealant and I feel like it kind of coats the hair in a good way...a natural protectant of sorts.
allaboutme8801 I really want to go back to using it but these "gurus" are making me nervous. I recently started using vaseline on my skin because my eczema has decided to try me, my skin looks so much better already so that's making me want to use grease on my hair even more.
I use what works for me even if it's so called taboo products. I haven't had any issues. I encourage you to continue to do what works!! My oldest daughter has eczema and Vaseline works very well on her skin as well :).
Your video is making me feel better about my decision to start using grease again. I used oils alot in the past but in combination with a grease. I even used grease one time for an entire year and my hair went from shoulder to waist length in 10 months. When I heard it is not healthy when my greases were finished I did not purchase a new bottle. Im going back to grease. Thank you so so so much for this. You took a weight off my chest.
In the Caribbean where I am from Yes my hair grows super fast. I think its the humidity because It still does not grow that fast in Europe. When I went back home on vacation my hair grew 2 inches in 6 weeks. I am back in France now and it does not grow that fast or at least I do not retain the length as much I should say. Still try it sometimes. It works really well for locking moisture in. I do not leave it in for long protective styles though
You have to do whats best for your hair. I started back greasing my scalp w blue magic. Its great! Dont know why i left!
My mother used Sulfur8 on my hair and scalp all my life and my hair was always thick and long. Eventually I stopped using grease and my hair became brittle, dry, damaged, and falling out. Now, at 42, Im back to using grease. My hair LOVES grease. Within 28 days of using it, my thinning hair filled in and now Im seeing length retention. I WILL have my hair back again, and I will be using grease to get there. I went back to what WORKS👏👏👏
I use to love some ultra sheen in the mini jars. That smell is heavenly!
Grease works for my hair. I use BB Hair Food with a gel and leave in when I do a marley bun or puff. My hair stays moisturized I have no breakage and I'm retaining length. Love it and it beats any $20 product I have used!
I have just went back to blue magic. I was spending so much on products and I just thought about what my mom used to use on my hair when I was a child. She would use it before braiding my hair. My hair was nice and soft. I just make sure to use a moisturizer on before I apply the blue magic. Like you said, way better than all these $20 and up products
As long as I do not apply the grease to my scalp, i am good to go. Comes to show we don't have to listen to every hype that is given for naturals to follow. Do what works for you. Great video.
belleandchic1 I agree!
@Ashley B. It works fine on my dry scalp and hair
Thanks for the review! Yes grease is the real deal, it is the growing agent, and it won't break the bank! I agree wholeheartedly.😊
Thank you young lady for this, we have gotten away from our ROOTS!!!
Amen!!!
i use the coconut hair grease by the same name blue magic and my hair is long and healthy
+Portia Hunt oh yea I love that one ! I have a big jar of it:) thanks for watching !! 💛
+Portia Hunt I use Super Sure Gro & bergamot. The coconut one was a bit heavy for my fine hair & my hair likes extra virgin coconut oil by itself much better
legadema37 oh okay i should try that
I totally agree. My mom used grease in my hair as a young girl and my hair grew without breakage issues. Everyone's hair is different. It really depends on your styling preferences. It will weigh the hair down if too much is applied, but for those that don't mind that, it can be a great moisturizer. And as with any styling/moisterizing product, the scalp should be cleaned on a regular basis. So, in my opinion, thumbs up to Blue Magic!
I agree! Very true:-) thanks for watching! !
I been struggling with my daughters hair. And after watching this video and reading the comments, I think imma give it a try in her hair. My mom used blue magic on our hair too and you are right, me and my sisters had long hair. I may even use it in my hair because I am a lazy natural and don't have time to Moisturize every single day. Thanks for the video. You took me down memory lane.
dreama Thanks for watching ! Let me know how it goes for you ! 💛 I usually retain moisture for days on end with it !😊
I too went back to using grease because there was never a problem with it growing up. It keeps my hair very soft. When using oil it doesn't keep my hair moist lobg enough. Im going for what I know.
I totally agree with you. When I was younger and throughout high school I used grease and my hair was really long actually probably longer than it is now and I don't use grease anymore because it has been labeled bad but I'm thinking of incorporating back in my regimen that's how I stumbled upon your video. Thanks for info!
I love Ultra Sheen but every where i went like CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Family Dollar, Freds, some Beauty Supply Store's, some Grocery Stores and still haven't seen any. I love it because it leaves a beautiful shine and it's lite on my daughter and i hair.
Amazon has a lot of it. 😁
I think I'm going to try JUST water and blue magic for keeping my hair moisturized when do protective styles under wigs. It seems like a product that will help my hair be low maintenance.
I find nothing wrong with mineral oil....I found I had more breakage without it. it has the same consistency of olive oil. all oils have tha capability to coat and clog hair. the only known oil that will penetrate hair shaft is coconut, mineral has better properties to protect.
+MissAngelaThunder thanks for adding that bit of information!
Great video! I love to see videos about naturals doing what works for them. I'm transitioning now & I started to get caught up in the do's & don'ts that I stopped listening to my own hair. I'm going to be doing what works for me. My hair is doing fine with the mineral oil products I use. It looks good feels heathy plus it's growing. Your hair is beautiful.
After being a year Natural, all the Natural oils weren't locking in moisture for my hair. I have gone back to Hair pomade / Hair grease. I think these hair products companies debunked what really works for our kinks so as to break our pockets. Not worth it. Grease and water does the job but in combination with a moisturizer is Holy Grail. 😍😍😍 So if applied this way: Water + Moisturizer + Grease = Longer days moisturized hair.🤗
I forgot to mention I didn't start balding until I started using all those other Products. So now I'm back on track with Blue Magic. And my edges are growing back in
Me too! Went back to I ultra sheen hair grease and all my bald spots grew in
Loving the honesty in your video.. Your hair is FABULOUS! Honey... just keep doing you Boo! It's quite obvious that your hair is thriving with your technique!! More hair Beautiful.. Forget the so called Hair Growth god's!
Aw Thanks so much for the positive feedback!
I love my grease. It's the only thing that holds moisture into my braidouts so they last a whole week or longer if I'm lazy. The key is using a moisturizing shampoo to clean your hair. And I only use a half pea sized amount per section.
I really enjoyed this video ☺️ you've got such peaceful and positive vibes goin on and I just love it!
Zoe Nash aw thankyou so much ! ♡
No problem ☺️
Thank you for saying what you said. I have used Murray's Pomade and water on a braid out and I absolutely love it. You have to use what is best for you. Like you said when I was younger I used grease and my hair was really long and thick. You have to do YOU!!!
i tried evoo, coconut oil and they messed up my hair...fuk this imma go back to ultrasheen mineral oil hair food!
VxNx coconut oil also messed my hair up right along with products that I was using on my hair causing me to have protein overload ugh so I'm going back to what I grew up on blue magic!!!
VxNx yes girl back to the old school. All this complication of LOC, COL, OLC, LCO, ABC. and 123 and soooo damn expensive without the longevity of moisture
😂😂😂😂 #Facts
Jackie Williams omg same here! Protein made my hair come out and all of those products. I went back to basics and hair grease and my hair and scalp are thanking me for it.
I love dax green grease. I have eczema and a very dry scalp and my doctor recommended greasing my scalp so it works greasing your scalp . I use water first then grease and my hair is thriving. but grease might not work for everyone. coconut oil drys my hair out as does most light oils. I keep my hair in a bun and it's moisturized throughout the week. and wash every two weeks. with that said my hair is past bra strap length. nuff said .
hey girl do you prefer the green or the black one (kocatah) from DAX ? I don't know which one to pick, I have heard great things about both and people says that the black one works great for hair growth but it stinks apparently. Also do you think can I use just sheabutter and grease after blowdrying my hair to seal everything I put in before or just grease ? lol please and thank you sis
I love your story! I can definitely relate. I've been using shea butter products and "essential oils to grow my natural hair. Then I started to think about when my hair grew in the past. I used Blue Magic, Hair Food grease, etc. I said to myself that is what's missing. My hair is dry and needs lots of moisture. My scalp isn't getting enough moisture. So I purchased some hair food grease because I remember when I wasn't even as knowledgeable as I am now, my grew like crazy by using this product and others like it. Thank you. I will still use the other products but keep my scalp grease with the hair food grease.
Thanks so much. I used to listen to people saying use this or don't use that product. Over the past few months I realized the product my mom and grandma used are the best for me. Which are the products you're using. It keeps my 4c hair moisturized better. Other things have a tendency to break my hair off. This is very brave of you. Keep up the good work!
yes ! I love my grease ad also my curl activator !!
I started using grease and water mixed with leave-in conditioner and my hair is growing and not breaking anymore and I only have to do this once a week. With oil, I had to oil my scalp every other day. Or else my scalp and hair would dry out and I was not retaining length. I have natural hair.
Same here, blumagic Indian hemp, water and leavin my hair is growing thick and fast
Thank you for this video! I use natural oils sometimes but I also use Blue Magic from time to time. My mom would put it on my hair when I was little too lol! It's not a heavy grease like some of the others on the market so that's why I like it because I have fine hair that gets weighed down easily. I've always had long hair and the grease has never been a problem for me. I wash and deep condition once a week and put it on my hair while it's wet.
My mom always asks me why do you use so many products. All I need is GREASE and Water. She is right because our hair was healthy and down our back when we were kids. Now that I've gone back to that method along with low manipulation hair styles ( as when we were kids) my hair has THRIVED and down my back again!😊
My hair loves ultra sheen!

Hi! I use the Blue Magic as well, stopped for a few years and my hair really let me know it likes Blue Magic and water. TFS. :)
Awesome! Thanks for watching!
I remember when I was you when my mom use to grease both my hair & lightly grease my scalp with sulfur 8 I didn't like the smell but it, but I had both healthy and strong scalp & hair
My mom uses that same hair oil on my hair.
If I don't use it my hair feels dry and brittle . I don't know why its been labelled as bad for hair.
Because my hair thrives with it.
It feels soft when I use it
That's awesome to know! :)
Thank God I am not alone. I gave up using mineral oil since June of this year as I was encouraged by one of my friends to try the Lorraine Massey Curly Girl Method which of course have an SOP of avoiding petroleum and mineral oil. I used to have hair that everyone liked until this year, a lot of people have been telling me that my hair does not look the same anymore. :'( There's really no "one size fits all" when it comes to curly hair. And I'm certainly going back to my mineral oil. Great vid btw, just subbed :)
Dixie peach brand grease and water. That's what my mom used. Great video.
+ISayToMyself My mom used that on my hair ,too, along with some bergamot, Sulfur 8 & other greases. I went back to grease in winter 2013;. Old school all the way in winter: Blue Magic,Pink Oil lite, StSofFro& S Curl
ISayToMyself yezzzzzz heard my mom talk about Dixie Peach, if she could get her hands on it, she'd be thrilled
blueangeloftheseas amerzon has it, my mom used that on my hair back in the day, back to basic family,,😎😆
blueangeloftheseas check amozon
Saw dixie peach at a beauty supply store.
Rose water glycerin spray ...seal with Blue Magic. It works. Tired of all the expensive “natural” products, and negative talk about good ole’ “grease.” I tried the natural oils and all...my hair was so dry no matter what... went back to “grease” I’m happy ...my hair is soft like it was when I was a little girl. Do what works for you.
I have not used grease in many many years but a few weeks ago I thought about it. I have been natural for 3 year now and my hair is extremely dry so I will be trying Blue Magic starting this weekend. I was looking for reviews on RUclips and discovered your channel and that is why I decided on the Blue Magic. Thanks for the info.
Africa's Best Triple Repair cream gives INSTANT moisture to dry afro hair.
I remember my mom used Dax too. My hair started growing when I started using BB Super grow with coconut oil and castor oil. I now use my own DIY mixture but I am going back to BB because it is cheaper and I was using it when my hair started growing. I am 4c and my hair is like a sponge but the grease is low maintenance. Thanks for this vid
+Loulou Willis that is awesome to know ! I'll have to try that !
I remember my mom using grease in my hair when i was younger and my hair was to my butt until i started doing it at 16. I took grease out of my regime and that is when my hair broke off badly. Now for the first time in years i have natural hair again (9 months of growth that looks like a year worth of growth). And the same texture of hair as yours. I used only a tiny finger tip full and my hair responds nicely. I still use olive oil more often than grease. I just don't put it on my scalp. That is when it becomes bad. Because the grease blocks you scalp from getting moisture and oxygen into it. But its okay to put it on your hair just not the scalp.
Hi im constance n im glad u r using blue magic because i tried the only conditioner method for so long! My hair was dry so i started back using the BLUE. Just to grease my scalp then i massage it in. My hair is alive n have sheen now not dry. Thanks!
I have been listening to people say don't use hair grease on my hair and I have mainly just been using oils on my hair it grew then it just stopped but since I started using blue magic again my hair has gotten alot thicker it doesn't dry like it use to quickly with the oils and also it has gotten longer with just a few weeks of using it again its crazy. I dont use it on my scalp I still use leave in conditioner for my scalp but I use the blue magic on my hair and also some water works great for me.
+Beauty Ellis Sounds like you have figured out how it works for your hair and that is awesome! That is the main thing I was trying to convey in this video . Thanks so much for watching !
+Natively Natural (mcfarlingirl) You're welcome💞😊
I’ve been natural for years 9+ and always wore a protective style my hair never did a good twist out or braid out until I started putting blue magic in my routine and now I love my hair.
Shoftsheen hair food
My mom used it, and I'm 47
My hair got messed up too when I started doing it myself too
I'm going back to the hair grease too
I still use BB grease in my daughters hair and it comes out so shiny and when I use Blue Magic the results are the same. I love these products and if I remember correctly as little girls our hair grew quite long when our momma's put these products in our hair.
That's awesome to know! Thanks for watching! :)
Ultra Sheen and Sulfur 8...that's what I grew up on! I personally prefer the natural oils but as long as it doesn't contain lard...I'll try it! I agree with the other curly girls...do what works best for you!
michelle muhammad lard,😁😁😁
Thank you so much I grew up in the south and like you said when your momma would grease your hair my mom did the same and my hair did so much better and like you as I grew I began doing my own hair not really knowing what I was doing and now I been reading and learning how to do right by my hair. So you made my decision to use grease again. Thank you
So happy you found it helpful! ❤️
Dax, Sulfur 8, lard, and Crisco if she ran out of hair grease. Hair stayed moisturized and long and healthy looking.😊
Thanks for sharing this! Girl, yes you know the 'natural hair police' have things to say, but do whatever works for you and your hair! There's a reason why those things are still on the shelves. I personally try to use more natural/organic products, but nobody should judge you based on the products you use. My mom used products like that on my hair as well when I was a child.
Great vid!

@TalkTresses
Talk Tresses Thanks for your lovely and positive input:)
I wonder why grease works for some and not others? anyway... as a child my mom used that green grease ..don't kno what its called..and it was down my back..so I may revisit it again.. be like fetty wap.." won't chu be miiiiine again baybay" XD lol
+Beebe Tree LOL! You definitely should give it a try. And I think it just boils down to the fact that we all have different hair textures, porosity, coarseness, etc. That is likely why for some it's a winner and not for others. Thanks so much for your comment!
***** thanks for your reply ^.^ and I did the whole pororsity test, and it floats on the water so I guess that means water has a much harder time getting in... ah well, one thing I know my hair loves for sure is agan oil.. but i'll give my old childhood friend a try.
+Beebe Tree it was probably called Dax
Kinky.coily. ஐBeebe ஐ Treeஐ sounds like good ole Dax
Kinky.coily. ஐBeebe ஐ Treeஐ gives the best definition and moisture when you apply on damp hair, be light handed
Gurl the natural hair police coming for you!!!! Just kidding.....well kinda :/ But I agree. I use some of the same stuff on my hair as what my mom used on me as a child. My hair is always so soft afterwards! I don't see anything wrong with using what works!!
Lol. Yes I agree. That's why I wanted to explain in detail as well as how often I use them. I find them most helpful during colder months. It's all about doing what works for You :) thanks for your feedback and for watching :-)
I use a product that makes my hair so soft and actually locked in the moister and less frizz. Then found out it had mineral oil in it. From that day I decided to keep using it. I have 4c hair. My hair has beautiful tight spiral curls, thick hair and grows like crazy. But all the products I would use would dry so quick. I do wash and goes not twist outs or twist anymore now. If you don't want to use mineral oil then use castor oil or a mixture of different stuff. I wash my hair once a week or when it feels dirty. I have no method. Any sulfate free shampoo will wash out mineral oil cause they have low sulfonate in them. I don't use it on my scalp.
Interesting. Thank you for sharing. I'm not opposed to trying grease on my hair now.
I love grease and will continue I have gotten amazing results
yas, that some good grease and my hair thrived using it.. I can't find where I am at.
I totally agree. TFS
The dax hair oil is good too
Can you do a updated video on this ?? I’m so interested!
Brooke H I’ll definitely make sure to add that to my video queue!
Curltinue and can you recommend a couple grease brands because I’m so conflicted
Brooke Henderson I love blue magic (any variety ) and softee Indian Hemp! When my scalp needs extra care I will use the Sulfur 8.
Curltinue okay thanks you ! Do you just use grease by itself or along side of a cream?
Brooke Henderson on some occasions I’ll use it alone for “greasing my scalp” but usually when I style with it I use it with a leave in or water . I use the grease as my sealant to seal moisture in.
thanks for the tip im gonna have to try ive been experiencing alot of breakage since i went natural. I just recently cut like 4 inches of my hair again so far it seems better but when i was relaxed i used grease and never experienced breakage but im gonna have to try it out.
I hope it works for you then! You won't know until you try, then if it doesn't you can try other things , sorry to hear about the breakage :(
Also regular mayonnaise treatments help me a lot to keep my hair strong. I will be uploading that video next :)
Thank you I look forward too the next video.
Great video! I like grease to but right now my hair is loving evoo so I'm going to stick with that for now.
Sounds good! My hair Loves EVOO as well! It's a staple of mine, especially to use lightly during the warmer weather ;) thanks for watching !!
so if you deal with grease..& let's say the next day you need to add moisture again, wouldn't the water not penetrate your strands because of the mineral oil being on the outside? I always thought in order to moisturize again you'd need to remove the mineral oil so the water gets through. I'm confused lol
+dejjj_789 hi! Don't be confused. I read the same thing but the way I see it, water will remoisturize. I know you are saying that once your hair is sealed the water won't do anything because of the seal, but in my opinion and my experience with my hair , I add water to already sealed hair (whether using grease, oil or any other sealant) when my hair starts feeling dry. The water makes it feel moisturized again and I seal a again and do this until the next time I wash it. The question is, "does the water reach my hair underneath the sealant?" Honestly, I don't know ! But my hair feels remoisturized, it looks soft, healthy and it grows healthily and stays in a healthy state so I can only believe that it is doing some good and it works for me, based on the results. The only thing you can do is try different methods and see what will work for YOUR hair . And try not to get confused and discouraged. Your hair will let you know if it is working. I go off of how my hair feels and how it looks. If it continues to be in a healthy state then I'm happy and I know the method works. I hope that helps ! ❤️
+Natively Natural (mcfarlingirl) I just use grease once a week & spray with plain water or a 50 /50 mix of S Curl & water
Does ultra sheen grease work the same as blue magic grease?
Lol that's what I wanna know. 😁
My cousin use the green grease on her hair and she has a very strong and healthy scalp. I just decided to go back natural and I am using argon oil. It last for a good while on my hair. I have a hard time knowing what to do with it because I live in Wisconsin and I don't have a clue how to take care of it in the cold. In Arizona I used olive oil in my hair and it was beautiful and healthy. Here I have been struggling with it.
I would like to know can you use BB grease with your blue magic Grease.
I have mixture of different curls on my had. They are dry as dry grass. My dna is full with afro dna but skin is Arabic. You can't even imagine how much problems I have with my hair. The only way that I can menage them is vaseline. It took me years to found right approach. And the way you are doing it is my way allso. But when I go to Afrika my heir are just reborn and bouncy curls are osome. There I need only nice African eir and that's all that my hair need. They want to go home 😄 back to the origin. So sad.
Can't get the Blue Ultra Sheen anywhere, but they still have the Green one! What's that about?
Water, ultra sheen hair grease green one and a good brush!
I know this an old video lol but my mama always told me to grease me hair and I ventured off and became hard-headed trying different types of stuff and I’ve been getting a dry scalp and itch all the time. Back to the Ultra Sheen I go! 😂🤷🏾♂️
It’s definitely an oldie but goodie! I still use grease 😊 thanks for watching !
peace love and hairgrease
I do lots of rollersets. How can I apply the grease without messing up my curls?
Can someone tell me why the original conditioner & hair dress has been discontinued? That's the blue one. I can't find it anywhere, but they're still selling the green one for extra dry hair. Made by Johnson and Johnson products
Forgot to mention it's ultra Sheen. Sorry.
My mom put grease in my hair as a child, my hair was stunted. Never grew past neck length. So I relaxed it. Now I'm 1 year natural I'm staying away from grease and any thing with mineral oil. And I'm past shoulder length. Past my color bone almost arm put length. Everybody has their own experience. I personally will never ever use grease on my kids hair when I have kids. And my little sister's hair is also stunted I told my mom to lay off the grease and her hair is finally growing . Mineral oil clogs pores and that was on my scalp 24/7. I'm actually happy grease works for others people. But not me. I enjoyed your Video.
Jenna Marie Wow! Well, I'm so happy you figured out what works for you and what doesn't. Thanks for sharing your experience! Everyone is different so it's good to know pros and cons, hear the good experiences and the not so good, that is why I made this video, so thank you for your honest input as well as for sharing what has worked for you.
Can't hear you
please talk louder next time. thank you.
I agree
Are you still using grease?
Lady Dinah Yes :)
What porosity hair do you have?
is it ok to grease your scalp and hair at the same time? reply plz
+agirl4lyfe I do and it seems to do fine for my hair :)
how often do you apply it? everyday?
As often as needed but the grease is rather concentrated so you shouldn't need to daily. Just go off of how your hair and Scalp feels and remember that a little goes a long way:)
thanks. I notice that as soon as i put something on my scalp it starts itching (product build up) but then if i don't grease my scalp it itches also...i can never win! lol anyway so do you recommend greasing your scalp or just the ends?
+VxNx I understand. I only grease my scalp usually if im wearing my hair straight for a long period of time. other than that I use it on my hair and ends the most for natural styles. also you should try tea tree oil and us that exclusively for your scalp. you will get some great relief from the itching and it helps with stimulating growth as well. you can use that daily for you scalp. most beauty supply stores carry it.
I really enjoyed this video ☺️ you've got such peaceful and positive vibes goin on and I just love it!
