I moved from Ohio last July. Just started fishing and DUDE, your videos are amazing! I’m catching fish in the canals around Naples and thanks to you, I know how to tie the best knot, buy the best rod and reel…soon I’ll buy a sweet kayak and hit the mangroves! Love you!
I'm in Rochester NY. I love your videos. I was raised in Daytona beach so I used to fish like you do. It brings back a lot of memories. Thanks for what you do.
Great day Justin thanks for bringing us more good content! I'm from Nashville where I train horses but we bought a small farm in Ocala and I bought a 15'6 classic because when I'm not showing horses I'm fishing inshore! Caught my PB snook first time out on the boat a couple weeks ago!
Mike from West Virginia! Love your channel. I kayak and wade fish in Florida for vacation once a year. Your videos have helped me learn what gear to use and helped me on catching fish. Thanks for the awesome content!
Sick topwater bites Justin, I love it. I am from Amsterdam in the Netherlands. We don’t have snook here but I got some in Mexico, Belize and Bonaire. Keep up the good work. 👍👍
Me and my dad love watching your videos we watch every new one you upload. I also just caught my first tarpon at 10 years old and it was like 25 pounds
It's weird seeing someone throw a spook on a spinning rod. You east coast guys are wild. You sure do work those reels well though, braking, distance, etc.. Thanks for all the content man. Been binging you for a couple weeks now. Good shit.
Watching from Port Orange near Ponce while on vacation. Born in Central Florida. Inshore tournament fishing landed me in Central Georgia with a job that wouldn’t fire me when I took 10 weeks off per year to fish. The last time the economy crashed we had to kill the tournaments. Cool channel man, congratulations. You’ve covered some good ground and get it done. Watching is almost as good as being there again, emphasis on almost.
I run single hooks on my top waters. Works just fine! Also bring back that snook long sleeve with the JM signature on the front! Thanks for the content as always homie
Nah. De-barbing trebles on a hard bait makes it way too easy for the lure to get thrown. Replace ‘em with in-line, single hooks about two sizes up. Hook-up ratio will be about the same but you’ll bring a lot more fish to the boat.
Dude, I was getting nervous for ya when unhooking those fish!! I was treble hooked trying to free up a nice 30" Northern Pike I had just reeled in! NOT FUN!! Anyways, keep the vids coming! Watching from the banks of Lake St Clair in Southern Ontario Canada. Cheers 🍻
What’s better for fishing at a river…? High or low tide? What lure do you recommend stir high tide and low tide. I see big snook everywhere I fish and giant tarpon but haven’t been able to catch one yet.
Top water Awesomeness🎣🐟🐟🐟. As the crow flies, I live 3,400 feet southwest from where Maggie caught that flounder. BTW I caught 2 flounder the next week just north of there east of the intracoastal near the manatee signs.
Nice work! Transfixed on your spook every cast. Is it safe to say more top water action is on the way for us viewers? I sure hope so. You were killing it today. Could have watched this for hours. Thanks!
Great video , love top water , I'm from West coast north of Tampa fish out of aripeka in my 15'4" modeled after your gheenoe only difference is I run a Suzuki n a 42" minkota.
Naples Florida, don’t remember the last time I used a top water because of the hooks but now I want to uses them. Your the reason I got a gheenoe and I don’t regret getting one.
Georgia transplant from FL that loves your vids. Mostly fish SC. Watch those trebs!!! I use a lip gripper and plier combo for treble removal. I had a 4 lb bass on one end of a topwater and my hand up to the hook bend of the second treble on the other end. A snook, tarpon or redfish on the other end would've been worse!
Good job! I didn't get as much action Saturday with top water in Jupiter where I'm from. I should walk it quicker; from what I see how you walk it. I'm a farrier by trade, I shoe horses. Thanks for your steady stream of videos.🐴🎣
Nice work! if you are nervous using treble hooks on top water you can switch them out for single hooks. If the fish thrashes there is less chance to get hooked. Also by switching to single hooks it doesn't tear up the fish like trebles will. Great vid. keep up the great work.
My name is Ret from Wilmington NC. Awesome content as always Justin. I've been an avid fisherman all my life. I've had my share of different species of fish in my life. Need to get back into the swing of things with fishing. Looking forward to more excellent videos. I'm not sure if you've done a catch and cook video but if you have could you point me into the direction of those videos please sir. Have a great day.
Finishing with plugs and trouble hooks when you’re not using in-line hooks it’s a good idea to have a pair of fish grips to flip the fish and then remove the trouble hook or the plug good luck
Watching from Gainesville so a bit landlocked. I don’t get out as much I want to do yourself and others helps feed the addiction while I can’t make it out as often!
Winter Park, FL myself, fish a lot of the same areas you do. You've actually met one of my good friends Brian out on the water at some point, he's talked about you. I told him I watch this guy on RUclips, name's Justin, and he was like "oh, no way, Menendez? I met him out on the water", it was hilarious
I got my start Snook fishing in the Everglades. It was nothing but top water mirr-o-lures. About 3 hours in, I caught my 20th mangrove and was pissed. So I yanked as hard as I could and luckily it came out… but at a million miles per hour. Next stop was the Marco Island Emergency Room to have 2 sets of treble hooks surgically removed. No one at the hospital gave me a 2nd glance. (Ordinary for them to see someone with a lure stuck to their face and neck…) 2 hours later, a stop by Miami Subs and we were back on the water. So, I certainly understand why you don’t like treble hooks.
Great blow ups and fun action out there JM! You got few followers up north here in Jersey City NJ. We’ve been enjoying your videos for a long while now. 👍🏼 🎣
Lol. Awesome vid. I’d rather miss 20 fish on top water than catch them any other way. Didn’t read the comments, but you can change your hooks out to inline single hooks, and get you some fish grips….that I’ll solve a lot of the treble dangers.
Justin I always change out the factory hooks especially on the spooks and I get the 3x or 4x treble hooks in black and the hook up ratio is ten times better then using the standard silver/grey hooks that come with them. One u really have to find which u might have a hard time is the Spook One Knocker Top water . The thing u have to look for is its only bone color and it's not painted its body is the bone color and u can tell because the eye for the line is silver with no paint on it. The Big snook for whatever reason thend to crush it and same with the reds. I want to say the size is 2 treble hooks from VMC but give it a try I think u might be really happy with the results
I'm in Virginia Beach VA , and your videos are an out of body cinematic experience for this inshore fisherman keep em coming my dude !
I moved from Ohio last July. Just started fishing and DUDE, your videos are amazing! I’m catching fish in the canals around Naples and thanks to you, I know how to tie the best knot, buy the best rod and reel…soon I’ll buy a sweet kayak and hit the mangroves! Love you!

Dude, come back! Rocha-cha can’t be better than Central Florida! Went to SUNY Oswego, I don’t think I could ever move back!
Thanks for the support!!

A simple thing like debarbing the treble hooks makes it easier on the fish and just a tiny bit lower hook up ratio. Good stuff ...

I have yet to be hooked, or stung by a bee / wasp.
What’s better for fishing at a river…? High or low tide?

Yo, Jef here from Spring Hill FL, and I watch most of your videos!
I ain’t too big on the topwaters, usually if I throw a hardbait it’s a jig, but this video was insane. Saying hey from Pensacola.
