BOSS Fuzz Waza Vs EQD Hizumitas - Quick Tone comparison

Hi, I just got this Boss FZ-1w and I thought it would be interesting to compare it with the Hizumitas from EarthQuaker Devices.
Sound is recorded with an iPhone without any post processing, what you hear is roughly how it sounds in my bedroom.

Me, too… but I’m tempted to trade it for the Waza… I really just want a solid, muff not pickle sound. Rhythm… lost my index & thumb, left hand. Still hooked on making noise.

I have the Hizumitas and several big muffs.....The hizumitas is better, more defined. I like the green Russian big muff also....Similar sound, but the Hizumitas has the edge ;)

It is the purple graphics that make it "more defined.. is it more "organic' and "natural" sounding too?

EQD and Wata fixed the big muff with the Hizumitas. It might have too much low end for some people but omg THE CLARITY, it's a God send. Ironically the FZ-1w is nowhere close to a big muff, it's a new pedal which is a mashup of a Fuzzface, a Colorsound and a Tone Bender, not my cup of tea but great pedal none the less.

For me the Hizumitas has the edge, it is warmer and louder. The boss lacks a bit of character/presence in my set up.

Both are good, personally I find the Hizumitas has plenty of character with more low end. If you want something more neutral in all situations then Boss Fuzz is the way to go.

My god bro, that HiZ sounds Amazing while the FZ sounds like trash and the guitar is ugly 🎸
