Remember singing to the spurs fans “have we f***ed your season up” and “where’s your season gone?” They were throwing seats down on the family section….
Calderwood was never my idea of a solid way centre half. He never dominated the centre of the defence and his lack of speed and touch made Spurs vulnerable at the back. However, to be fair, he was having to support some third rate players!
Just looking at the Spurs team, it’s no wonder that they were regularly thumped during the season! One of the weakest ever Spurs teams! Nethercott, Edinburgh, Caskey, Samways and Austin. All mediocre players! As for Dozzell, he never settled at Spurs, and after two seasons was sold! Plus we had a goalkeeper who was often caught out of position! Watching Spurs during the 1990’s under Alan Sugar was painful and joyless!
@Steve Ruddick Ian Walker was an ok goalkeeper but he suffered from poor decision making as well as making too many errors. Also, he had chronically poor defenders in front of him. Walker always reminded me of little boy lost! He never bossed the goalmouth!
I was at this game. Great left strike from Neil Thompson. Up the Tractor boys!!
Remember being at this game for Dozy's return.

This was one of Spurs weakest teams of the 1990’s! Looking at those names are a byword for mediocrity!

Bear in mind one of the weakest Ipswich teams too you were playing there, some right old cloggers. Thompson was a classy left-back though.
