Browns fan telling you Baker is underrated. Pat is right… the Browns did him dirty because they wanted to go after Watson. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him in the pro bowl this year

Cleveland did not do him dirty. He was definitely a "good" quarterback...but we wanted a more talented quarterback. Baker was SURROUNDED by talent. His true colors showed when he was on the Panthers and the Rams. Didn't really even have that great of a game with his first start on the Buccaneers.

I LOVED the Browns with Mayfield. The hype the Lions and Jags have right now is how I felt about them then.
It's awful how he was run out of town after bringing the Browns back to the playoffs. This from a Saints fan: I want nothing but success for this guy.

I'm a Chiefs fan. I thought he was great for Cleveland, which in turn, was good for football. At least the Browns were competitive with a healthy Baker.
I liked the Browns with Baker a lot more than Watson. Even if Watson returns to form, I still prefer Baker

For sure. People always try to use a defensive win against the qb. But Baker didnt turnover the ball and sometimes thats what the team needs. Not 400 passing yards.

I am a Buckeye and remember the flag plant. When the Browns drafted Baker I thought now we got a guy with fire in his belly. I will always be a Baker fan as most Browns fans are. Brown's management prove to be dumb forever.
Baker had THREE different offensive coordinators in four years in Cleveland. He still got them into the playoffs

Not all Browns fans ran him out of town. I would say at least 50 percent wanted him to be our guy. He just fit Cleveland's style of football, even if he didn't put up the best numbers.

Baker Mayfield is all about the "fight in the dog". He may be shorter, he may not have Mahome passing numbers, he may not have the quickness or accuracy of Tua, but he's got more fight than any other QB in the league. No give up in him. The Tampa Bay Bucs may not be "contenders" by the end of the season, but for what we've seen so far this season, he's ideal for the Tampa Bay offense. No doubt Baker Mayfield has passed the test in my point of view.
I think baker a solid player but a guy with so much talent around him his whole career throwing 150 yards a game doesn’t look great
I really hope Baker is successful and finds a home in Tampa.
He was absolutely set up to get run out of Cleveland. The dude was a top QB in 2020, then got injured in week 2 of the 2021 season and it was clearly affecting his play. His grit wouldn't let him quit and get season-ending surgery, so he stayed in and played (which was obviously bad). Then, after the Browns organization supported him throughout the 2021 season, they immediately turned around and said "See ya!" and got Deshaun Watson, who still hasn't played well for them. He then got sent to the god-awful Panthers, where NO QB would have been able to thrive under Rhule and company. Then, he went to an injured-riddled LA team and was immediately way better than he was at Carolina. Now, he has his most complete team/organization since the 2020 and 2021 season.
I don't think throwing for an average of 3,500 with 23 TDs and 14 INTs is by any means GREAT, but it is good. Cleveland is NOT wanting to stay in the grasps of just making it into the playoffs...they want to win a superbowl...and Deshaun Watson was going to add to the talent to that ALREADY amazing talented Browns roster.

@@ayeejaayy5848 When I say "played well," I mean on average. They looked okay versus Cincinnati. Watson completed 55% of his passes for 154yds with 1 interception and 1 TD. I don't know that I would say that is him playing "well."

After 1 games, Baker is a superstar QB all of sudden. He is who is. He will keep the bucs relevant but he’s not a long term guy you give a huge contract to.

Baker has been dealt a bad hand since day 1. Browns had nothing for him. Panthers really had nothing for him including a defense. Rams was a one-off. Baker found a solid team on BOTH sides of the ball and we can see what he can really do now. FIRE THE CANNONS!

Sportscasters and commentators are so fickle when it comes to Baker. He is having a good start but as soon as problems arise, their narrative will fall back to post Cleveland. Listen tampa has juggled qbs for a long time. Even w brady they didnt know how long he should stay. When we won our first superbowl w johnson, and they canned him a few years later, the new hope was j winston, and they only gave him a season before the talk of a qb controversy started. Im ridding w baker. I hope the bucs management does too. Even if we have a losing season (which was predicted), build something around him.

Re: Astros....cameras aren't cheating, they used an electronic device. Glad Baker Mayfield's doing well, picked him up in my FF league and dropped Jordan Love. Baker throws twice as much and is a decent runner.
I think Baker can win games and play pretty well in the right environment but he will never whiff the top10 or lead a team to a chip.

Baker has a 5 year history to show what kind of quarterback he is. He has had a couple great games in his career but that happens with every mid-range quarterback. With the discussion on Baker being able to articulate how the defense is being run that is what every single quarterback in the NFL should be able to do.
If you want a good back-up QB or a bridge QB Baker is fine but he is not a franchise QB

I find Mayfield plays like Favre. He has ants in his pants, always looking too create that play. I like his style of play as a fan keeps it interesting. Compete level the dude comes to play. Put the right people around him for a few years he would be solid. As a receiver you really need to know he never gives up on a play, get open.
