      @@colin6603 Incorrect. Of course he can. Kwesi just needs to extend him, or exercise the franchise tag, and then he can be traded anytime.
      I don't know folks are assuming that Sam won't be extended. KOC has developed Sam into a valuable asset. Kwesi is literally a former Wall St trader, and I doubt he will want to just give an asset away.
      1. If the Vikes let Sam walk in FA, because they will probably be net buyers in FA, and not qualify for any Comp picks, they'll get nothing.
      2. There is uncertainty over whether JJ will be ready for week 1, 2025. They likely need a similar bridge/contingency plan like Sam next year anyway.
      3. Sam will likely be worth multiple top 100 draft picks which should be worth more than an extension will cost. The Panthers gave up a 4th, 2nd & 6th to acquire Sam from the Jets. He is likely worth more than that now.
      4. Assuming Sam is traded in 2025 or 2026, the acquiring team would pick up the balance owing of Sam's contract, so the actual cost of an extension will likely be about half the perceived, or reported cost.

      I don’t know why people think there’s a chance the Vikings resign Darnold. It has been clear from day 1 that he’s here to be a bridge QB for a season. He will go on to sign a multi year contract elsewhere.
      And how were they supposed to take Penix over McCarthy when he was gone before they were ever on the clock?

    • @MrCook-dz6gj
      @MrCook-dz6gj Месяц назад +1

      @UNCtarheels71 they could've traded up....🤔 Darnold shouldn't have even been on the roster. Fields, Wilson and Winston were all available and are better "bridges".

    • @Bigbackkronk
      @Bigbackkronk Месяц назад +9

      @@MrCook-dz6gj …Dude they did try to trade up. Lol people say this like it’s only up to the Vikings but shockingly the other team has to agree to the trade too. They offered the Patriots 3 first round picks to try get Drake Maye and that didn’t work. Tf else are they supposed to do?
      And you’re objectively wrong about Fields, Wilson, and Winston being better bridges. Sorry but you don’t know ball if this is your take. Those QBs would never operate well in KOC’s offensive system. Winston has a very chaotic play style that would have drove KOC up a wall, Wilson virtually never throws in the middle of the field and KOC frequently has receivers running crossing routes. Pay attention to where Justin Jefferson is at on most of this 20+ yard gainers. And we would have had to trade for Fields, with a division rival no less. Why give the Bears draft capital for a one season rental when there are better free agents you could sign? Darnold had spent last season in San Fran under Shanahan whose system is fairly similar to KOC’s. Given the options, Darnold was by far the best choice. And they’re 8-2 so I don’t know why you think he’s “wrong”. What more could you possibly ask of a bridge QB?

    If we haven't played a complete game thus far into the season, then we probably are not going to in the remainder of the season. Our oline sucks and the CB's cannot stop or cover WR's of better teams. We will be a one and done in the play offs again.

Next year they have cap room available to go crazy in free agency to "fix that offense." Although, outside of interior offensive line, and potentially running back next year, I don't know what they will need to fix (assuming JJ is good). Maybe you have some pointers oh wise one...
