For me its the lode gold. I value seeing that and as it shows us where the placer comes from and the types of rock the gold often frequents. To see the different types of veinage, colour, size, arrangements etc are is valuable information the hobbyist, the amateurs and the dillétants of the world seek. Your knowledge is mind plowing like always. I have been into old abandoned mines before and they are all over in Jashua Tree National Park in Ca. Jashua Tree Is between 29 Palms and Yucca Valley. People from all over come to Jashua Tree, JT for short. Some of these mine shafts go deep deep down. I wasn't sure if you have ever been to any of these mines in JT, but thought to throw that out there. 😊
Hi Jeff, great. Jeff I'm exploring a new mine that has a very old metal smelting furnace that is over 500 years old by examining the metal overburden. Altarized tuffs in the white mine and calcite crystals with gold can be seen in some parts of it. The most interesting thing is the presence of gold nuggets in the size of 4 mm in the white tuffs. Jeff, have you ever discovered gold tuffs?
Speaking of open stopes, those with an old Tucson connection may remember the road into the ghost town of Helvetia. There was an open stope on a hillside in the shape of a giant opera shell. Big Copper owned the land and blasted shut this and other wonderful mining oddities in the area.
When you said it's cold, it's cold. It reminded me of trimmers where the archeologist. Cover himself with That fire extinguish your stuff. Trying to get away from the grabodds 😂
Slim must of been working down in the mine . I heard him scream when Jeff dropped that rock🤣. Thank you and Lila for more new terminology about finding the shiny stuff . Or dead giveaways😊

One giant stope without any supports or pillars leads to failure of the wall, probably the hanging wall. Must have been super high grade zone. I've seen similar extraction but usually with a forest of timber props.

Quick question. I have found a mineral and sulfite layer anywhere between 4 to 6 in thick at 9ft deep that runs on a 35° angle and at 14 ft I'm still following that same lawyer between clay layers what would that be called ?
