Are the peramaters always level? When does the slope from the wall to the drain start? Is the drain level with the tile thats layed or should the tile be a little higher? Like 1/8
@marcelw1203 explain in the video that the perimeter does not have to be level, that's what a perimeter screed is if you want all 4 sides level... but I don't do that, though yes, mortar should be level as possible. And yes my floor tile will be slightly above the edge of the drain, you will see that process when I begin the tiling, new video pops up every Friday.
@MrC9Oh3 too wet is a bit subjective, if it is overly wet then it will not stay in place, it will travel down to the drain like lava... also it would degrade some of the adhesion properties of the cement
Where's your pre-slope? Or Why aren't you using a waterproof membrane over your dry pack? Or a liquid applied over the dry pack. Seems like that is what all the other top tile guys are doing. I do appreciate your attention to detail. I am not a tile guy but have watched hundreds of videos over the years.
With the water in water out system then a pre-slope would kick in with most people, we are not doing that anymore, we are doing a sealed system so therefore a pre-slope is irrelevant. The liquid membrane goes on the mortar pan in the next video next Friday
@lrc87290 ask him how the water gets up over the 3/8 to a 1/2 inch lip up in the drain when he puts liquid water proofing over his post slope.(the one you tile), up to the drain. The residual water will always be there.
Now i see what u trying to do u trying to get the tiling Messiah big donny little d all fired up aren't u talkin boot not worried if at walls aint perfectly level can see smoke coming out donny d lil peabrain 😂😂😂😂😂😂
If all the meat around a pigs ass is pork how exactly does a posi traction rearend work in a 1973 Ford pinto ? It jus does keep em coming Bobby learn chit tons from yer videos cept i usually charge alil extra for lipage im giving it to for free what i tell my costumers 😂😂😂😂😂
Your older videos you used a bit more water but this is satisfying to watch, I’ll think I’ll have a cigar. Nice work.
Getting that mortar nearly level all the way around by eyeball is skillful all by itself 👌👍
Yes I appreciate that, after 20 plus years you learn a few things
9:16 dubble ✔️ wit bigon'! Bob officially a southerner!
I know right, the people back home in Los Angeles would be surprised to hear me talk now🤦🏻♂️
Love your commentary while working, let's me know what you're thinking when you do work.
Thank you, glad you like my Jibber Jab... there are three more in the next 3 weeks, every Friday
Excellent. I’m searching for my shower leak now and leaning toward ripping it out and replacing it. It’s 15 years old. Travertine with sanded grout.
Thanks

Can you show what bag of motar you use?. I get the red and brown deck mud bag from home depot
I showed it in last Friday's video when I was doing the shower pan liner...
It is called Sakrete sand mix at Lowe's
@@StarrTile thanks brother
Why drypack? Is it not ok to pour it wet?
It has to do with other guys talking about a dry pack, it is wet to a certain extent but you don't want it too wet
@StarrTile that's my question, what are the disadvantages of it being too wet?
@MrC9Oh3 too wet is a bit subjective, if it is overly wet then it will not stay in place, it will travel down to the drain like lava... also it would degrade some of the adhesion properties of the cement

YOU COVERED THE WEEP HOLES WITH MORTAR
Weep holes don't matter for a sealed system
You ever going to retire?
And do what ??
I do travel a few times a year and take a break but retirement is boring
@@StarrTile make youtube videos. I hear some people do that as a career
@apex007 I've been doing RUclips videos for 15 years, and yes I was getting paid a little bit back in 2016 but they demonetized me within the 1st year
@StarrTile welp, I'm all outta ideas

NO PRESLOPE
You don't need a pre-slope for a sealed system
