I've seen a lot of good young pianists, all very musical but not like him. Cuz he plays like a master playing-- this kind of control and calmness is rare. It's pretty common young pianists play very passionate and lyrical but they can't control the general pace,the whole piece- which is super important.
This concerto was a breeze for you and your technical display is astounding for one so young.
You play like an adult!
Yes, when you are older (20's), you will take more time to display Saint Saen's wonderful melodies in a more relaxed and dramatic fashion.
Don't get me wrong! You play with expert musicianship, but in one's youth it is all about "winning the race."
In your maturity you will learn the meaning of the word "savor." You will learn to savor the melodies you are playing.
While the Saint Saen's is not up there with Beethovan or Brahms, there is much to savor: great melodies, excellent possibilities of the display of technique, and just plain "piano fun" which he does so well.
Saint Saen is enjoying himself in his concertos. It is all about fun and exuberence. It is more about this than to dazzle an audience.
This dimension will come later for you. Meanwhile, keep astounding the world with your gift! I know you have worked hard to achieve what you have achieved.

Саша удачно попадает в точку задуманного: стреляет клавишами-нотами создавая шедевр и тем самым заражая слушателя, подчиняя его себе без принуждения и по совпадению настроя душ. Fabulous performance by Alexander. But it's the second time a wonderful performance of this Concerto by him has been spoilt by a rotten video. It's ridiculous to film this with just one camera - and the same distant view throughout! There should be multiple cameras and different viewpoints. We need wide views, medium shots and close-ups. We need to see Alexander's face from various angles. The same with his hands. And the shots cut in time to the music. Happily, things have improved in the past couple of years. But it is no longer acceptable to produce such an amateurish record of a classic performance. Herbert von Karajan mastered filming an orchestra in the 1960s and 70s! The Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra needs to catch up. In the meantime let's hope Alexander records this piece again - and this time call in somebody who knows how to make a music video!

Wonderful performance by Alexander and the orchestra! ... But - Oh, the video... Dreadful! You must never shoot a concerto like this with only one camera. You need at least 4 cameras shooting pictures from different angles. Here, a classic performance is ruined by thoughtless camerawork. The conductor Valery Gergiev must sort this out. Insist in getting some professional videographers next time you record a concert.
