14 years old. He controls the piece utterly from start to finish. The finale was totally incredible. Such intensity! Such . . . . I have no words. Bravissimo!!!! Alexander will surely be amongst the very best pianists of this half of the 21st century.
I think there is little more that can be said. This boy is incredible. This is one of the show pieces of all top line concert pianists and the boy runs through it like it was Happy Birthday. Very real talent, not a flash git for sure.

This recording from 6 years ago is priceless because it shows Sasha (age 14 at the time) as the true young prodigy he was in those years. The only sad part is how very few English speaking comments showed up in those early years.

A titanic performance comparable to the very greatest interpretations. RCA, Sony or Deutsche Grammophon should give this brilliant artist a recording contract before a lesser label does.I am really at a loss for words since this young genius never ceases to amaze me.
I agree, his performance is faultless; easily on a par with the young Kissin and he was 16 when he recorded this work. It could rank as being one of the greatest performances of all time - up there with the greats - Horowitz and Rachmaninoff.

I found him 3 days ago and was so impressed, I am obsessively listening everything he ever play. I think he is super intelligent, because to play with such good taste , never getting sentimental but displays the beauty of equations and the power! Super powerful pianist ! The same time so humble and natural. I think I am losing my mind 😂

I can't believe what I am seeing, it is so incredible that someone so young could have such an amazing technique, high-level and broad repertoire, and possess such a profound depth of pure musical inspiration. I listened to this performance, while comparing it in my mind to Richter's. While Alexander's performance is different (for example, listen to the cadenzas), it's not inferior to Richter's and compares very favorably.

I have been a dedicated fan since Alexander was 11 and my greatest wish has been to be able to witness his incredible talent in person before I shuffle off this mortal coil (I'm pushing 82) and my wish is fulfilled ... I have tickets to his concert in Ravinia, Deerfield, IL on July 21, 2021 ... it matters not what he plays ... he will fill the soul of this aging fan!

Normalement, si le covid nous lâche un peu , je vais le voir et l’entendre dans ce concerto en mars prochain ! Quel privilège, car ce qu’il donne dans cette vidéo, avec les années supplémentaires d’une maturité déjà importante pour ses 14 ans , devrait être une nouvelle explosion de notes ! Ce sera je pense un " feu d’artifice " musical et j’attends cette soirée comme un enfant attend le père Noël !

I listened to this performance, while comparing it in my mind to Richter's. While Alexander's performance is different (for example, listen to the cadenzas), it's not inferior to Richter's and compares very favorably.

I have been a dedicated fan since Alexander was 11 and my greatest wish has been to be able to witness his incredible talent in person before I shuffle off this mortal coil (I'm pushing 82) and my wish is fulfilled ... I have tickets to his concert in Ravinia, Deerfield, IL on July 21, 2021 ... it matters not what he plays ... he will fill the soul of this aging fan!
