It all depends what you normally ride
What is the dimensions of the board you're writing now?
      How do you surf?
where are you going to surf this? beach, point break reef break call(deep water or shallow water)

@@hawaiiansouthshore, thanks for the quick reply David! What fins do you guys recommend? I tried it as 2+1 today and it didn't have any drive. I've been using the AM2 techflex in quad setup and that works well, but still looking for a quad setup that's a bit more speed generating, or alternatively a good thruster setup. Would love to hear your thoughts!

@@rickikkersheim5491 No worries, I highly recommend a 2+1. If you are using the Futures
      For loose board the AMT
For Drive the T1's are good

About how much does the 5’6 sweet potato weigh?

    • @hawaiiansouthshore
      @hawaiiansouthshore  Год назад +1

      Hmm, that's a great question!
This is actually the first time someone has asked us about the weight.
I'm curious and interested in learning what you're board brand and model you're currently riding. Also the construction and the weight

@@hawaiiansouthshore yeah it’s typically not a question I’d ask but I have the 5’6 sweet potato in helium and unfortunately had to repair a ding recently on the rail. I was paranoid that it felt a bit heavier than when I bought it so just wanted to compare its weight to what it is new. After the repair my board weighed in at about 6.5lbs.

      @@devinchaganis8017
Sorry I don't have a scale to weigh it, but the fins and deck pad make the surfboard a bit heavier.
When you ding an EPS board, you need to dry it out.
In the past, a former Hawaii rep for Firewire told us to put the damaged part of the surfboard facing down in the car, and place a paper towel underneath it. Then we close the windows and let it sit for a few hours. The paper towel helps us see if any water comes out, and it absorbs the water so it doesn't get into the car's carpet.
After the surfboard is completely dry, repair it.
It's not good to leave saltwater inside the foam because it can make the surfboard weak from the inside. If that happens, the layers of the surfboard can come apart or "delaminate.

@@hawaiiansouthshore I appreciate the response. Board is definitely still really light for its size but there was just that bit of paranoia after getting a new board haha.
