Interestingly Watford Town Centre has been pedestrianised, in part. I think Alan Partridge should visit and give his opinion on whether this, some would say 'half baked' approach works in a town like Watford. Watford is fairly easy to access from Norwich - M11 & then M25. You'll note this concept of 'Alan Partridge Pedestrianised City/Town Centre Approval' (APPC/TCA for fairly short) was sparked by Sir Elton John (Watford Football Club & a singer) duetting with Alan Partridge & I think APPC/TCA has 'legs'.
@@jamesnewstead7099 I think, James, with all due respect, that pedestrianisation of city centres goes way beyond simple football allegiances. Whereas football is simply a children's game which has evolved to a method of most effectively extracting money from the sort of simple minded working class people who do not have money in the first place (in large part wholly because they are not able to distinguish between essential spending and the feckless folly/short term gratification that watching adult men play a child's game provides), city centre pedestrianisation is a CRUCIAL part of safety and sustainability pertaining to the socio economic future of Britain's high streets. I am sure that Sir Elton appreciates this as much as anyone!
I still remember him being interviewed by Rowan Atkinson, who obsesses about him having his name the 'wrong way around'. Elton's a surname and John is a first name, have you never tried to get that fixed?
I actually don't see Steve Coogan playing Alan Partridge, I actually see Alan Partridge as a bona- fida celebrity presenter. There's no end to the depth of Alan Partridge 😂
Yes they are two different people, but the best part of Alan Partridge was always bragging about booking a famous celebrity and the celebs always cancelling on him
I Love that Alan mentioned the old people on hospital radio keeping time 'off-beat' - then later as they're singing that lady in the audience inadvertently clapping OFF-time. - as someone in the comments mentioned, that shot of Jeff Goldblum wondering what universe he's on. lol Lovely Stuff.
Coogan doesn't need the make up anymore to age himself that's for sure, considering Alan partridge started on the day today in 94 as a young man it's weird to see him dramatically age him in just 6 years.
It is easy to forget in this clip with Steve Coogan, and a similar sketch with Rowan Atkinson that it is Elton John who is asked work outside his comfort zone, performing comedy, and he keeps up with both of them with smooth, effortless timing and delivery. The comic back and forth is so natural you are blown away when Elton John starts to sing and you are reminded he is an icon for his singing.
The backing track is took from Elton's One Night Only show at Madison Square Garden 2000. He had a deputy piano player that night as he duetted with Kiki Dee.
You obviously don't watch much of Alan partridge where a good majority of the comedy is mean spirited, he gets petty and jealous constantly, can we drop the back in the day everything was somehow better bullshit, what u mean is your nostalgic that's all, I was alive in the 90s and it was no different to now.
@@johnb1150Well nobody is making or broadcasting as much genuinely funny, enjoyable comedy as there was in abundance in the 90s/early 2000s. So in that respect it certainly ain’t better now
There will never be an end to obscure Partridge clips surfacing.
good
Excellent
Technically there will.
Needless to say Alan always has the last laugh
Have you seen his ABBA duet ...deserves an award !
I wonder what Elton thinks of the Pedestrianisation of Norwich city centre.

I've been a partridge nerd for 25 years and have never seen this. It's f*cking brilliant
I love the look of confusion on Jeff Goldblum's face.
I think he's still tryna work out who the British are
I think he's still trying to work out who HE is.

25yrs a Partridge fan and even more an Elton fan and I’ve somehow never seen this.
AA jacket. Up there with his Castrol GTX one. haha
Ha ha! Tried to buy one once.. sadly a prop for the show
Remember his Phil Collins no Jacket required tour jacket

Peak Partridge. Lovely stuff.
Elton outperforming on the comedy and Coogan outperforming on the singing make this a gem.
Just discovered this and it is very very funny , the two of them work brilliantly together.
Alan is superb, as always.
Affectionate and moving, quite jubilant!! “Alan Alan Alan!” “Elton Elton Elton!!” ❤️🔥
First time I have seen this. Brilliant.
Nice to see Elton John's up for a laugh.
I love these two men beyond measure. ❤️😁❤️

Very true. Elton is acting like the awkward singer put on the spot and his comedy acting is fantastic considering it’s not his thing
Elton is the man!
I remember watching this when it was first aired and i loved it then
song starts at 4:20!
Brilliant Video, 6:24 for me is quintessential partridge.
Elton has an incredibly powerful voice he has the lot musically too and I love Steve coogan too.
What most people probably didn't get is that Harry Webb is the original name of Cliff Richard... aha!
We did though

Alan does a great duet
*_"Don't go on saying A-HA!"_*
Alan has had some Great Musical Moments. Gay Alan here, Irish Alan last month and Bush Alan all fab

Harry Webb, that duplicitous bastard!
Jeff Goldblum?
