I beg ur pardon. I hunt a blind with my kids on public land at that and it's taken just as much prep as a saddle.. I want to start using one to have more of a edge not cuz I'm lazy ..and it's good for handicapped folks as well

I'm a treestand hunter and also just hunt from the ground but I'm going to try and find a tree saddle I like and buy and practice for next season. I'm a larger guy but I'm working on losing a few pounds so I'm hoping I can find one in a size I feel comfortable in. I appreciate all your help you share with your videos along with helping companies make great gear for us hunters.

hey john great scentlok suit just order one been using scentlok for ten season didn't use it right at first but it definitely work, I have been saddle hunting sense tethrd came out with there first saddle, only hunt public in Georgia and it is a challenge, keep on doing the RUclips, don't do forums to much miss information. High hopes the make an early season set up. Some of us further south hunt the majority of our season in warmer Temps. Central Indiana and south don't need fleece until December.

Well I hope I don't come off sounding like anyone from Iowa gets freebies. It's just easier because there are a lot of mature bucks and they grow much bigger antlers per same age of buck. I just think that if you are fortunate enough to reside and hunt in one of the big buck states that you should be grateful and should be much more successful at taking monster bucks because there are many more of them..
Question: what about UV visibility? I recently read that deer can see UV pigmentation, and that you can see this with a blacklight. I noticed that my 3D gillie suit was not that dull under a blacklight, so I chose an old army wool sweater for my ground hunt last week. I also swam in a lake to get super clean and chilly before I went in. Took two bucks from the ground (behind a pine tree in a ditch, with some fat branches leaned up against the trunk) as they came to feed on the acorns. Does this new suit fluoresce under UV? I know the insignia does as I have another Scentloc garment for colder weather, but it is perhaps small enough to not matter. Have read you books years ago John, thanks for sharing your expertise so thoroughly. The same qualities that make you a great hunter have made you a great educator as well. Bravo!

I'll be getting a suit when they come back in stock. I hunt in oklahoma and our season is different. We start in low 80° weather and end in the 20's. Pretty much all of us just have layers
Looks super comfortable. Is there going to be an early season light wt. suit on the way?? Also scent lock head covers are way too freaking big! I wish they made a small size that fits like a glove!
So this is a suit that fills a growing need in the market but will only be made on a limited run for one season? Are the sales and marketing guys at scent lock this obtuse or does the other un-saddle friendly clothing sell that well? I love the pockets, collar design, overlap on the plumbers crack, all great features. Seems odd they wouldn't expand this line with saddle hunting growing so fast.

@@tattoomike84 For early season you need anything in Savanna weight. Savanna is their lightest weight garments and you can layer under them as it gets a bit colder.
I understand the use of zippers on the front of the jacket & on the fly of the pants to keep odors in. However, wouldn't using flaps & buttons be an advantage from a "noise generated" point of view for all the pockets? When I was in the military, 100% of my fatigue uniforms only used buttons to provide silent usage, even on the flys.
Got a 1969 RUclips kill story on Friday evening and then next 2 weeks are going to be very controversial videos on headlamps and flashlights used for entries and exits and this is a topic that really needs to be addressed..
I can't believe this video has got so many more views than the headlamps video. In my opinion the headlamps video is a far more critical video for future success. Hopefully the video tomorrow will be on pre season speed tours and placing both cell and standard camera's. I'm using camera's a lot more in the past 3 years since I don't have to visit them to remove cards. outing

Shouldn’t shrink because you will never wash it…. If you ever do handwash cold water and hang to dry in front of a fan, then when dry regenerate in the dryer both sides.
Vertigo was around for only 2 years and the hunters that understood the pattern and what is was for, bought one and after year 2, sales were so bad that they discontinued the pattern. Because vertigo is not a year round pattern, and a ScentLok suit will last 8 to 10 years if you use it all the time, a vertigo suit that gets used sparingly during the season, will last forever.
There are 4 stores in Michigan that are carrying it and it's just because they called ScentLok and asked for it. It was designed as an online suit only for 2022.
And of course with all Scentlok jackets no Elastic waist lol, never fails. I never quite understood that being a “scent control” company and almost 98% of their tops have wide open bottoms, just don’t get it. I was really looking forward to going to get this suit, I been saddle hunting for almost 20yrs in the big woods public land of Huron national forest since I was a kid. When you learn how to consistently kill big bucks in the big woods, the more south you go the easier mature bucks are to kill.
I had to laugh to myself during your opening comments. I just watched a show yesterday where the parents gave this big speech about how they wanted to bring their kids up right, hunting for good deer instead of just trophies. Learn to hunt the right way. They showed each child shooting what I would consider an average public land 6 pointer as their first. Each child's second deer were all book bucs at a fenced ranch, shot on a feed road, from a small shed on stilts 😆 I guess it didn't take long for them to "learn".
Remember folks when he says book bucks, in Michigan, since the bucks are so rare they do what they call a "commemorative buck" which is only 100" a minimum requirement which is a low bar for Michigan. If you go by pope and Youngs standards, in Michigan, he has only 9 "record" bucks with his largest being 144". This isn't including his out of state. Only Michigan.
I don't get it all these people out here that are deer hunters they they were the most top high end stuff they you get which is Sitka 1st light to hol the big names but what they don't realize Set log has been around way before them and it works they'll pay more for something that they have to watch their wind their scent is blowing everywhere but you Go over here and get something that is built and it's built as equal or if not better it's not better and it improves your hunting you don't have to worry about your win I watched it with my own eyes last year I could not believe it I was just blown away all The Times I walked Into the Woods and you know bad wind blow up hill or something Trying to get into a certain spot and the next thing you hear is the doe blowing I experienced some of the best hunting over the last 2 years I've ever had In my life did I kill a giant no but it was the fact that I didn't get busted and I could act dear walking all underneath me and they had no clue I was there and even if Catch my ground sent at all oh they might take a couple steps back settle down and then come on through I had it happened I couldn't Believe it and I had a little submixture on my boots also which in one way I don't know if it helped or made it worse it's called nose jammer it smells real sweet But I do know this she calmed down and walked right Under my stand
I will say this, and to JE, I’m sorry, but the saddle suit is not a good investment. If you are looking for a top of the line suit that will last and has plenty of features, save and get the scent loc Divergent jacket and pants. The thing is DEAD QUIET. Pockets…lots of pockets..and they are roomy. The saddle hunter jacket has a chest pocket that I struggle to put even my phone in. They are tiny. The Divergent also uses Primaloft gold…which is a superior insulator compared to thinsulate. The saddle Hunter jacket is kinda poofy and the Divergent is thin. Always save up for the best you can get or you will be sorry in the long run…don’t ask me how I know!

It is not a suit you would ever wear during the early season anyway. It's a mid to late season suit for 20 to 45 degree temps. But thanks

No, tall sizes don't sell very well and the mfg. usually end up eating most of them so not many companies make talls. Sorry.

I was hoping for your version of a vertigo pattern we simply disappear in our slings with that suit and it's a shame they did away with it😕

Just wondering why scentlok would not go back to a 1 piece suit, it would allow less scent to escape.
