and how expensive are the materials all in one?
Would love to know the lifespan of this clock. The verge is not engaging the escape wheel properly, crashing right into the pallet face! Not deadbeat, not recoil.... I can see pits developing quickly.

Hi Jonathan, this clock in metal would need a larger drive weight. This is possible, but difficult. So I would not recommend this.

I wonder what I get when I buy the Korona watch plan?
Hi Roland. Good question. The plans are pages which show the objects in the assembled state. You get also a small instruction guide with a materials list and source of supply. And of course all parts are drawn. The parts are usually drawn in original size, so you can glue the drawing directly to the wood. For parts that are larger than one page, you have to glue several pages together or the parts are so simple that you can transfer them based on the measurements to the wood. If you want an example you can download the small but free plans of the wooden automaton "Katz & Maus". The page size is DIN A4. If you can not get DIN A4 paper, you can print the plans also to "Legal" paper. After the purchase I can also send you a dxf file, if have a CNC machine. Warm regards, Christopher
Hello,I made new weight wheels and put three 1/4"ball bearing in it two in the chain pully and one in the weight pully gear and just started taking weight out and the finally got it to run on 7.5 lbs.

Das ist für mich die schönste Holzuhr, die ich bisher im Netz finden konnte. Wie stehen die Chancen, genug Geduld vorausgesetzt, die Zahräder nur mit einer Handlaubsäge herzustellen? Wird die Uhr auch als Bausatz angeboten?
Vielen Dank. Ich freue mich, dass sie Dir so gut gefällt. Einen Bausatz gibt es leider nicht. Die meisten verwenden eine Dekupiersäge um die Teile auszusägen, aber es gibt auch ein paar die sämtliche Teile mit einer Handlaubsäge ausgesägt haben. Und deren Uhren haben am Ende auch funktioniert. Es ist also keine Frage des verfügbaren Werkzeugs, sondern wie Du bereits andeutest, Eine Frage der Geduld. Wenn Dir das Aussägen von Hand zu aufwändig ist, kannst Du die Teile aber auch fräsen oder lasern lassen. Im Internet gibt es ja einige Firmen die sich auf solche Dienstleistungen spezialisiert haben. Ich weiß aber nicht was so was kostet.

excuse me. i have problem in escapement wheel and pendulum. it's just can work for a few second. infact i was adding bearing beetwen gear axis and frame to smooth its movement.

... but *does* work. Just because something doesn't work the way you where taught doesnt mean that it's "wrong".
@@quimblyjones9767 Yes you are correct, but a useful analogy might be that a car running on three cylinders will work, but if it is designed to run on four cylinders it will work better.
@@brianwarburton4482 that statement is just false. There are plenty of functional inline3 engines, and it isn't that a 4 or 6 cylinder is any "better" it's just that it works *differently*. Does it have less power? Yes but it is smaller then a 4 and runs smoother.
*My* point is that you accused this of being "wrong" but I seriously doubt that you have enough experience to criticize this design.

Kann Holz eigentlich Verschleiß haben? Nur eine reine Interessenfrage
Klar verschleißt auch Holz. Im Gegensatz zu Messing besitzt es jedoch die Eigenschaft sich selbst zu schmieren. Wenn man Messingzahnräder nicht schmiert, gehen sie in kürzester Zeit kaputt. Holzzahnräder laufen vollkommen ohne Schmierung und das viele Jahre lang. Ein extremes Beispiel sind die Holzräderuhren von John Harrison die heute noch laufen. Die sind über 200 Jahre alt.
