TAUTOG! - Catch & Cook: The Barnacle Slam
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 26 сен 2024
- An assortment of crab eating critters on this late fall morning that was intended to be a trout excursion. Small bluefish made trout fishing nearly impossible so cracking crabs was a better choice. Landed a large assortment of species on one ounce bottom sweepers and put a few in the freezer.
Recipe:
Fish seasoned with salt & flour.
Cook in cast iron.
2 cloves garlic thinly sliced
Soften in olive oil
Add 1/4 cup white wine
Summer and reduce
Add 1/4 cup heavy cream and 2 tbsp butter
Reduce heat and bring to gentle simmer
Add 1 to 2 tsp cornstarch to thicken
Crumple fresh dill, and parsley. Squeeze some lemon juice

Your a fish catching machine...livin the dream!
Like seeing an old friend... very cool
30 day 30 species challenge would be a cool accomplishment
Thank you for adding the recipe in the description. I watch your channel religiously and you never disappoint. Hope to see more and more catch & cooks video for the foreseeable future!
GO GET THOSE 30!!! An experienced angler like you needs a challenge. Show rigging bait and technique.
I think the "30 in 30 Challenge" is a really good idea, especially because going after a wide variety of fish can teach us rookies more new techniques.
I like your idea
tog is one of the most underrated eating fish I feel. You can cook it a million different ways. Also one of my favorite to catch, good fighters. Another great video Elias!
30 in 30 sounds great. Nice opportunity to see some new catches. Safe travels.
Florida to North Carolina... That would be awesome, especially because im in NC...
Amazing trip! Best thing about fishing in the ocean, you never know what you will catch. Love the good vibes in this video. I will definately stay tuned for the 30 species in 30 days challange. Keep it up 👍🏻
That is so true! be Happy life is short!
That taug snaggin grin
Love the road trips. Love 30 in 30. Great idea. Start in NC and travel all the way to the Keys.
Mix the flour with the cornstarch it makes the fish super crispy !
30 in 30 sounds awesome.
Hell yeah, come to the west coast! Can’t wait to see you do a vid in the West Coast! You should do a meet up here in the West... who knows, maybe if you let us know when and where we would love to fish with ya bud.
30 fish in 30 days sounds like a real challenge. definitely a yes vote for me.
30 different species in 30 days sounds great!
Yes, I love your idea
Great work Elias! I've grown to love catching tog in the past 2 years.
Trying baking the tog. With a Parmesan crust top layer. It’s great.
Hell yea, Elias upload. Your channel was a huge motivator for me to buy a kayak for fishing. Love the videos
Cool idea!
Great video once again , really waiting to see some freshwater action
That first fish you caught by the rocks I believe is called a rudderfish or here in Hawaii we call it Enenue. Great eats just gotta kinda clean it well to get rid of the seaweed taste.
👍 on the 30 in 30 idea.
West coast for definite man!!
Thanks for another great video :)
Is that a glass of vino? Gettin fancy, hahaha
That trip will be a lot of fun cant wait and a howl lot of fishing i wish i was there now have a grate time
I love the idea!! Jamaica bay misses you
That's what i call fun fishing, nice!
That's it, Elias! I would have added a good fistful of dill, though.
Nice mixed bag.. Reminded me of the Jamaica Bay vids. New you would find the Togs.
I hope you're enjoying our crazy weather. Friday was a really nice day, while Saturday was a total bust, and then it turned a complete 180 on Sunday. Enjoy the weather while you still can.
I got into a nice school of trout on Saturday... and no one else was on the beach ;)
Great channel keep it going mate.
No limit tog is where i wanna live
Do it!! More EliasV Fishing is never a bad thing. Besides, you have a shot at a kingfish and, maybe, a tarpon.
Good day of catching! Well done! Bought me some of the bottom sweeper jigs and am dying to try them out!
Def try stripers by the bay first before heading down! but 30x30 rocks!
I live in South Florida. A lot of people eat those ringtails down here and they say they are very good. If you get the chance and the weather is right, you should fish offshore on the east coast and you can catch some mutton snapper, king mackerel, rainbow runners, mahi, and other reef species that are plentiful down here!
Another good video Elias! 👍
Yummy!!! have to try that recipe!! Thanks for posting!
Lol I saw some nostalgia via missing NY a little bit when you caught the tautog. Great video!
Really enjoyed that. Love the enthusiasm when you caught the blackfish. I was surprised you tossed the black drum when meat fishing. I seem to recall you enjoying them in the past. 30 in 30 sounds like a hell of a challenge. I think it's a great idea.
Yeah it’ll be tough. Think I’ll give it a real effort
@@EliasVFishing I have no doubt you will, and based on the multi-species smashes from your last trip, I'm betting you will succeed. Looking forward to following along.
You should name the state that you’re fishing in since you’re always fishing in multiple states. I’m sure all of your subscribers would appreciate it!
That’s pretty significant.
Whitman sampler 😂
I like the challenge! You got this!
Good stuff bro👌
The challenge sounds really cool, hard tho!
yes vote on the on the 30/30
7:50
Skip forward 4 years. New area completely figured out. Regularly outfishes lifetime locals. No need to worry about worry about fish in the freezer because he can jig up meat as needed. Elias beat the southeastern NC map.
absolutely do the 30 fish in 30 days!! Thank you for the shads BTW :)
30 for 30 sounds fun man! I’m so surprised that 45 dollar okuma is still kicking.
I'm in! 30 in 30!
By the end, you were grinning like it was Xmas morning! Catching "30 in 30" will be fun to watch ... ( wonder what "catch & cook" Remora will be like? ) A lot of "Left Coast" Florida was hammered by the Red Tide and probably won't recover for years. Cedar Key wasn't affected, and that area is very kayak friendly. If the ocean is rough, inshore opportunities are numerous.
Woody Stemms AnglerUp with Brant has a remora catch and cook. He’s good stuff, too.
The pier in Naples is always a good time
@@deanstanley2125 Better call first ... Sanibel and Fort Myers, just to the North, were decimated by the Red Tide ... the measured toxins were 8X lethal levels ... nothing survived.
@@woodystemms3799 that's sad to hear, I thought the red tide was affecting more north like Tampa/ St. Petersburg. when I lived in ft Lauderdale a trip across alligator alley to ft myers for a red Sox spring training game and a trip to Naples pier after was always a great day out.
I don’t think NC has any regulations for tog. But that’s amazing that you mamaged to get one!
Chesapeake Bay bridge tunnel taugs and stripers
That's a great day! IMO black drum are better eating than sheepshead.
Thanks Elias, are togs your favorite?
damn that looks good bro
👍👍
Hey man what Jetties do you normally fish? Looks like really fun fishing
Headed to CA and FL? You wouldn't be planing a meetup with "Fisherman's Life" and "Key West Kayak Fishing" would ya?
Elias, Fishermans life and More Than Fishing would be a great trio!
Loll I need a videotape feature
Nicely done. Was that a giant pinfish I saw..?
Ringtail. Fancy pinfish lol
You need to cook a fish stew or chowder!
Cioppino!
Hey Elias great video. How did you make the lemon butter sauce? I can never get it to have a thickness like yours did
Yes, 30 species 30 days. Could be some good viewing.
30 for 30 sounds like a blast.
Yes it would be cool to see. 30 in 30
Was wondering if you could do another catch and cook with Misha
Amazing idea for a Florida series just as long as you do catch and cook for any fish you haven't already eaten before this trip just don't eat something toxic or something that would suck just a question are moray eels edible I have heard different things for them depending on who you ask some people say there great to eat and others say that there poisonous because of the reef fish they consume if you can eat them it might be a good idea for a future video
30 in 30,, i like it!
I've never seen those before. Are they only outside the inlet or do they come into the rivers and sounds? I'm wondering will these be available around Morehead City.
Really random question but how do you have the cooler bag tied down? I just bought a bag and a used Revo 13. There are no tie downs or anything to use up there...
What dry suit are you using?
What up with center console?
Not yet. Don’t have the right set up at my place. But seed is planted
Tog And tripletail in the same place in the same year just Carolina things
Haha yes the diversity of northern and southern species Is amazing
Are you having to fish slower for the specks this time of year?
what kind of fish was that at 2:00 ?
Go for a Florida grand slam
Yum. Do it any way, just fish.
Nice haul...! I always fish for meat, love to fish and love to eat fish! Be safe in Florida! :P
Floridaman is savage.
You should put that sauce on noodles and make pasta
Nice, what part of the west coast?
2:58 nahhh, that's still a pigfish. Still taste great like a Grunt though!
I wanna see you fish the crap out of a KastKing Sharky 3 Baitrunner
No catch n cook with the shorty? 😢
whats the water temp around there this time of year?
60
@@EliasVFishing chilly
30 in 30 should take you even less you got it. I’m saying you can do it in 26 days
Hey Elias, if I sent you one of my CD's, would you use it for background music some time?
Sure message me on Instagram
Awesome video. If your coming to Pensacola hit me up buddy. I can put you on some fish from red snapper all the way to bull reds.
U should
Does anyone know the size of tautog in NC?
XlChubbyBacon I could be wrong but I don’t think there is a size limit
You should bleed the fish right after you catch it so the meat tastes fresh
The music in the beginning was wack
Ellis you aint epf.
Yeah he’s much better
Pin me im first and i love you
lol not with a profile pic like that!
