Perfect day fishing Eli. I love grilling what Cobia I'm blessed to eat. If you like, my fav way to cook is with a skillet, melted butter sprinkled with lemon pepper, salt & pepper. Breading of choice. Mine is House Aultry. Thanks for your post.
Those hooks your using that keep bending look like the diameter of the shank is round, for freshwater. I've always been told a true saltwater hook the diameter of the hook is square for extra strength. I really don't know, but it has worked for me for years.
Cobia is quite possibly the tastiest critter in the ocean. We catch them at the CBBT and some real nice ones too this past year I had a 50 and 54 pound fish taken on my boat. Those fish were following the Bull Sharks you spotted more than likely.
try par-freezing your catches before you filet them, 30 min - 1 hour depending on size of fish, and your filets will come out like a true pro with no rib meat left on the carcass. Obviously you didn't have this option in your truckbed lol, but if you par freeze and then do the paper towel trick your filets will look professional.
Can you make a video of your top 10 fish That you enjoy eating I think we all would love ❤️ to see that 1. Top 10 fish that you like to eat 2.top 5 fresh water-top 5 salt water 3. Top 5 ways to cook a fish Any of them I think us (the subs) would love to see THANK YOU keep up the good work
Glad to hear you like the 2019 outback since we all know you dont BS. Ive had mine for about 3-4 months now and i love it. Havent had any problems with it but i also havent taken it out into the surf yet.
Really digging your channel....great content and diverse....also really like you letting us know your equipment and tackle you were using...as well as the follow-up on the okuma reel.....now to find a more recent follow-up, haha....been catching up on your vids for a month now...tight lines 😎
@@EliasVFishing I would have loved to see another revision of the glide before the change to the 180 but I understand they needed the reverse to stay with the market.
Damn bro this series keeps getting better and better! Im beyond happy i decided to join the kayak scene bout to be the best year of fishing of my life!
elias my pap got a citation from virginia for a 52 pound cobia in 1967 i have it in my fly tying and reloadin room i was young then tasted good was this a big cobia?????
One of my favorite fish in the sea. I could go on for days about cobia, how to catch them, where to find them and how much gas you need for the boat just to find these fish
Down in Texas, they use white nylon rope to catch large Gar. Salt-water grade tackle ( they looked like boat rods ) and No hooks at all, just an unravelled portion of a particular type of thin-fibered nylon rope. The fibers get caught in the Gar's teeth and they can be caught. Otherwise, you need a hand-drill to penetrate their jaw.
Nice fish gives a well deserved since of accomplishment for sure. Also was wondering if you could spend 10 bucks for carbon drag stack for epixor to see how long it will go for. Maybe a fun experiment. Great vid keep em comin.
Maybe put them stupid jacks to work in a shark video?(real boat) Bloody jack crevalle cut bait is about as good as it gets for shark bait. Hell, last episode you were trying to avoid the jacks to avoid the bull sharks in your kayak. Lol. Understandable. They ARE dumb enuff to take a bite out of the kayak.
I haven't used it in a while. It performed to most tasks fine. But there are better performing options if you want to spend more money. If you want to spend less money it's a fine option. I wouldn't bring it as my choice if the striped bass of a lifetime was sitting behind the next boulder in front of me.
Awesome job on the cobia! You have to take that belly meat, take the bones out, cut into strips. Then coat in Lefty's seasoning, fry them up, and they make the best fish tacos you've ever had!
made me hungry as well... did those cobias drag you? either the current was strong or 5 and 8min marks they were dragging you . man, those fish must be strong!
12:15-that was a powerful pull from that fish!! Nice catch!!! Edit: I picked up one of those reels, couldn’t pass up one for the price seeing the punishment it was taking.
Last night I had a dream I was fishing for stripers.. I remember snelling what looked like a big white mullet on a big jighead.. I cast out and retrieve fast and then I was like wait... I saw how Elias do it on his videos I'm gonna try that.. then I woke up.
I cant help but wonder - how do you steer that thing? I'm a kayaker, but have never used the pedal type. Only paddled. I know that I can put a foot controlled rudder on my boat, but how do you control direction if both of your feet are already busy?
Awesome video! are you still in the Tampa area? If so can you steer me in the right direction i would love to chase after some jacks, sharks and cobia .
When you really need to kill a fish but are afraid of leaving blood in the water because bull sharks... That's when you need a steel tube or a blackjack or something.
Buddy of mine got the bulk of the catch in exchange for a comfy place to crash. Thanks again!
Hell of a deal, thankyou for the video.
Another epic catch another epic video. Thanks for uploading. Love the Okuma demo, definitely getting one.
Elias are you using a swivel to tie your leader? If not what knot are you using? Thanks.
man i could watch you fish all day,

I have to say Cobia are my fav southern SW fish. Love cod and halibut as well. Nice.
Very smart that is how they become the seniors of the waters.
That is definitely a serious fish did remind me of the swordfish steak just as you were saying it love you videos
The fact that you are enjoying a Rolling Rock beer with your fish tells me everything. May the God of all things bless you completely!!
Your coolness just went up 10 points with the Skull Kid tattoo. Majora's Mask is one of the top Zelda games of all time.
Ima Missouri pond fishermen. So !much ya gotta know to do this saltwater fishing!
Jig ...Jig...Jig ... Santa is coming Friday
Thanks man, appreciate it

Another awesome vid never disappointed. Have a good day and stay safe Jimmy from Massachusetts
Caught a 70 pounder at the CBBT last season. Absolutely brawled and I had a Slammed IV 4500 with 40lb braid and a 60lb leader. Barely enough.
I love watching ur videos never gets old cause ur like the rest of us true fisherman u don't scream when u hook up lol but keep it going.
Cobia is quite possibly the tastiest critter in the ocean. We catch them at the CBBT and some real nice ones too this past year I had a 50 and 54 pound fish taken on my boat. Those fish were following the Bull Sharks you spotted more than likely.
Awesome video. Just got into my first school of blue fish today it was epic. Everyone on the pier was reeling them in one after another
25 foot bull shark holy crap
5 footer
I always thought you wanted a stiff rod when jigging the bottom because they do a better job of "telegraphing" the vibrations back to your hands?
These are both MH action

Yooo really enjoying the 30 day challenge!! its like a tv show!!
Thanks man

that must be an eerie feeling knowing there are big bulls swimming around in there
It’s how I want to go
Could you tell us when and where you are fishing on your videos? I recognize the cbbt and the concrete ships, the rest are a mystery.
"I'm about to eat some really good food, I know it". I love the confidence when you're bout to demolish some delicacies.
wow you can catch cobia that close?!?!?!?! in texas we have to travel off shore to find these guys! great catch keep up the great work!
Cobia are all over Fl, just gotta know where to look.
Glad to hear you like the 2019 outback since we all know you dont BS. Ive had mine for about 3-4 months now and i love it. Havent had any problems with it but i also havent taken it out into the surf yet.
When I grow up, I wanna be like Elias, and paddle into the sea with pond tackle and slay monsters.
Favorite sushimi fish?
Blackfish
Can you try out the kastking sharky III?
Wonder if it helds up tho
I’d go with the epixor. It’s an easy choice
Next time try the mouth of LMR. Thats where you are going to find the keeper snook. I just won't tell you what tide lol!!Good channel
Another fine catch! Glad to see you in the Sunshine State! Be safe!
Nice going! Some guy pulled a 62" cobia off the beach by the Teco plant yesterday..solid video as always
Really digging your channel....great content and diverse....also really like you letting us know your equipment and tackle you were using...as well as the follow-up on the okuma reel.....now to find a more recent follow-up, haha....been catching up on your vids for a month now...tight lines 😎
I can easily blame your channel for less fishing and more watching but the sad thing is I live right in-between east and west coast anyways great show
Seem to be loving that spinfisher, despite your dissapointed looks of it at icast haha.
Good video Elias! 👍
Damn that new mirage seems noisy as hell at the beginning. My glide drive never sounded like that.
Yeah the glide is awesome these 180 drives....
@@EliasVFishing I would have loved to see another revision of the glide before the change to the 180 but I understand they needed the reverse to stay with the market.
Another great video and adventure.
Awesome to see you using your technique in my home waters! For snook try Venice FL or like I said fort desoto has a beautiful flat
This is my favorite series of yours bro! I love these multispecies vids
Damn bro this series keeps getting better and better! Im beyond happy i decided to join the kayak scene bout to be the best year of fishing of my life!
You should invest in food saver vacuum sealer. Well worth it. I use the shit out of mine.
I have one...I'm not going to travel with it if I don't have a freezer.
Kinda miss you fishing in Jamaica bay by my house in far Rockaway but enjoy the new vids none the less...
elias my pap got a citation from virginia for a 52 pound cobia in 1967 i have it in my fly tying and reloadin room i was young then tasted good was this a big cobia?????
Wait wait wait... almost 30 minutes of eliasvfishing? Christmas came early!
Glad you enjoy
One of my favorite fish in the sea. I could go on for days about cobia, how to catch them, where to find them and how much gas you need for the boat just to find these fish
This is so sick. I wanna do something like this one day !!
Thanks for the campsite hangout! Congrats on the cobra! Bucket list fish =)
Love the catch and cooks! Keep em coming!

Couple people told me about that! I couldn’t even get them to strike a mirrolure after the cold fronts
Man that's a small reel for a big fish! Always look forward to your adventures! :)
great video, one of the best I ever seen this last time thanks man, still waiting for the hobie 2019 surf lunch & offshore episode ^^
How are you liking the Spinfisher so far?
nevermind i commented too soon
Cobia are such a cool looking species of fish.
How come you don't say where you are fishing?
Great. Now Im hungry! 😂
Is that a power plant?
I was gonna reccomend he contact you for snook fishing in the tampa bay area....but a little late for that...
Nice fish gives a well deserved since of accomplishment for sure. Also was wondering if you could spend 10 bucks for carbon drag stack for epixor to see how long it will go for. Maybe a fun experiment. Great vid keep em comin.
Maybe, it’s not a bad idea
I've fished that inlet with little to no success. I'll have to try some EliasV shads next time. Great work and a heck of a cobia! Keep it up!
Elias, still using scupper carts? no worries?
It’s a loaner
Where are you? Still in NC?
Elias, super excited to see you fish for Sailfish on the new outback. I hope it happens! Congrats on that Cobia.
Do cobia like to be on the ocean floor ?
Maybe put them stupid jacks to work in a shark video?(real boat) Bloody jack crevalle cut bait is about as good as it gets for shark bait. Hell, last episode you were trying to avoid the jacks to avoid the bull sharks in your kayak. Lol. Understandable. They ARE dumb enuff to take a bite out of the kayak.
I'm your man stoo fucking up cooking
Can you have a show about the sabiki rig for bait fish ... thanks mike
Awesome vid .. beautiful location seems so peaceful....
Do invasives count for the 30 species? I want to see a snakehead catch and cook
would definitely like to see that catch and cook!
Buy carbon fiber drag washer for that okuma for $10 off ebay... made a huge difference compared to the cotton washer drag.
He is testing that reel for Tackle Advisors channel.
Great vid. Where would you rank the Kastking Fortis braid among other braids?
I haven't used it in a while. It performed to most tasks fine. But there are better performing options if you want to spend more money. If you want to spend less money it's a fine option. I wouldn't bring it as my choice if the striped bass of a lifetime was sitting behind the next boulder in front of me.
i thought cobia were an offshore species. I had no idea you could find them inshore like that. Great video!
Pardon me but, sick?? Haven't heard that expression used for anything but illness.. Is that a local thing??? Just curious.
How many # test braid you using on the cobia. You putting a lot of pressure on it.
15lb braid, 40lb leader.
What's the average depth your fishing?
maybe try the "rope" hook/lure if u find the gar...? now i'm hungry for cobia steaks.
Awesome fish Elias! You gotta do a fish soup one of these days with some Cobia heads
Make sure you try smoked mullet dip before you leave!
Oh I’ve had it before it’s good!
CONGRATS on the Coby!
more Cobia NICE!
Congrats! Beautiful fish!
Another great video. Made me hungry as hell lol. I love McKormicks Montreal steak seasoning. Works well on fish too
12:15-that was a powerful pull from that fish!! Nice catch!!! Edit: I picked up one of those reels, couldn’t pass up one for the price seeing the punishment it was taking.
That looks like swardfish. How fishy was it.
Last night I had a dream I was fishing for stripers.. I remember snelling what looked like a big white mullet on a big jighead.. I cast out and retrieve fast and then I was like wait... I saw how Elias do it on his videos I'm gonna try that.. then I woke up.
Kind of upset you didn’t show us the stomach content but I’m in NorCal, we don’t have cobia. But I’m still curious as to what it’s eating.
I know a spot where you'd have a decent shot at snook, tarpon, and gar.
You stole sea money’s dream!😂 awesome fish
Nahhh he wrecked em this season!
Curious to why you went with the 18 instead of going with the 19? Can you give some more feedback on the 19? Thanks
Maybe I missed it, where was the video taken?
Yo Elias. You still laying pipe on that shortie?
Nothing but class...
Dude! You need to try to find some triple tail. Tastes the best and awesome sight fishing and fight.
You wanna make a meal
I cant help but wonder - how do you steer that thing?
I'm a kayaker, but have never used the pedal type. Only paddled. I know that I can put a foot controlled rudder on my boat, but how do you control direction if both of your feet are already busy?
There’s a lever that controls the rudder
That is the only way I cook fish, is in an Iron Skillet, because they seem to disburse heat more evenly.
How do you like the spin-fisher so far? I messed with one today and felt built good but not nice to fish with
It’s kinda heavy. But it’s good for winching
Awesome video! are you still in the Tampa area? If so can you steer me in the right direction i would love to chase after some jacks, sharks and cobia .
4:46 RUclips auto captions shows your drag sound as [music]... I don't disagree.
When you really need to kill a fish but are afraid of leaving blood in the water because bull sharks... That's when you need a steel tube or a blackjack or something.
