@@johntessieri1898 I use the Dark Matter series for a lot of my inshore fishing lately and like them A LOT for what I do. For lower price range I'd check out the new Tsunami slow pitch rods and Tsunami airwave stuff, good quality imo with nice customer service: bit.ly/2R3mOS2
Nice Jacks, looks like a lot of fun. Bull sharks? You might need a bigger boat… It would be interesting if, at some point in time you are stuck in the house scratching some part of your anatomy, you could go through the knots that you have found to be most useful and reliable.
Nice fishing! It was fun to see a Jack-powered Yak, too! Glad you weren't tipped over, especially when those bulls were in a feeding frenzy...! Be safe!
For what they are, Okuma reels ARE THE BEST VALUE out there. I have no less than 12 assorted Epixors and avengers that I use in the salt water every weekend. They have quality ball bearing and seldom seize w a lil rinse. I am the KING of budget reels. The Okumas are easy to work on and parts are cheap. Fun stuff Elias !
Almost all the fishermen around me swear by the fight a largemouth gives you. I always tell them to go catch a jack crevalle and they will throw rocks at largemouth after that.
anyone that thinks largemouth bass have any fight in them hasn't caught... well, name any other fish. Largemouth are the easiest fish to catch, and have some of the weakest fight out there aside from maybe rock bass.
I’ve been trying to hook a double digit jack for the last year and while I was watching this video I recognized the smoke stacks instantly! Never thought that I could target the big ones from shore like you did so easily on the last video. I only live 30 minutes from that spot so I can’t wait to go tomorrow!
I live in Sarasota Florida never heard anybody called jack crevalle canal tunas , We catch em all the time I do appreciate your steadfast fishing abilities you are the man when it comes to kayak fishing , However my friend Miguel Torres reminds me of you in every way ,Keep up the awesome fishing and the great videos you rock !
I remember commenting when you introduced that reel that okuma are probably the most underrated reel on the market and they last as well. Great vid and I love your honest appraisal of gear, hope you have your flameproof suit on though, people lose their minds when you say okuma is any good lol
I can just feel your excitement and the joy of catching those jacks and the cobia (It counts, in my opinion, short or not). Keep up the good work, 20 species to go.
I had my doubts from watching tackle advisors tear down if this reel BUT after seeing this perform now in a real world setting I think I may be reconsidering and go ahead and get one for the arsenal thanks for what you'll do
I caught a nine pound carp on a shifty little Okuma panfish reel that came with a pack rod. You don't need crazy expensive reels for large fish if you know how to fight a fish properly... I've never bought a reel more expensive than a Penn Pursuit.
Putting that reel to the test!!! At 6:30 you were getting serenaded by an osprey if my ear is correct. Ours won’t get back to the Chesapeake until St Patrick’s Day. Also it seems like this boat sits out of the water higher than the last model.
Love all your videos good job. Been meaning to try kayak fishing some time. Hopefully this spring/summer. From Staten Island do you have any recommendations for guides. I’ve been down to Virginia and saw they had some kayak fishing tours.
Awesome video. one of the most exiting all time. How about Jack vs Red Drum, who fights harder? The footage of the shark was scary. Why didnt you just cut the line?
Jack has more speed for sure. I am going to go with Jacks....although these guys were around 15lbs a lot of reds I catch average 30lb with some bigger ones I guessed around 50lb. A 50lb jack would be terrifying on a 3000 or 4000 reel.
Holy shit! Manatee then bull sharks? That would be enough for me to seriously reconsider a kayak. Honestly though, when you saw it was a cobia did you wish you had it on a different reel?
Lol yeah the wildlife def got me going as usual. More than the reel...I wish I didn’t have a pompano jig hook. Was nervous about bending it out...which happened but got the right hook set.
I panicked when you put that hard head between your legs! Those barbs can easily puncture most fabrics. I've had one of those bastards poke through blue jeans in the blink of an eye.
💪⚙️🎣👏👏👏👍 Elias I am in doubt between the Fuego lt and the Epixor to use in the modality shore jig, which of the two could attend to me better in size 4000?! Thank you very much in advance!
Matheus BIG MATHfishing the performance of LT is much smoother and it is a better finesse based reel imo. The longevity of the epixor may surpass the Fuego but time will tell. If you are taking down stuff like jacks and snook I’d go with the epixor
I've had very bad experience with anti reverse failures on Penn Battle 2. But that's just personal experience and bad luck. This reel is also far smoother than even my Spinfisher.
EliasVFishing Good feedback. I’ve heard others have similar issues but it turned out to be lubrication issues. Knock on wood, mine have all been solid and they are fished hard on my boat. I’ve only used Penn customer service in PA once and they were great. Very much enjoy your content.
I have both the Battle 2 6000 and the Spin Fisher V 7500 and both are 3 years old....My Battle gears stripped within 2 years but the Spin Fisher has been flawless...I do like the Battle despite the failure and you`re right about the drag system but if you`re going to spend that much money for the Battle you`d be better off buying the Daiwa BG which imo is hands down a much better reel and cheaper for the same size...I have both the 4500 and 5000 and love them!...I also love my Spin Fisher and to be honest, if you`re strictly a Penn guy and you want to stick with them you`d be better of spending the extra $50 for the Spin Fisher.
Hi. Which country is OKuma Epixor 4000 made. You said that this reel cost 45 $. Do you still get this reel for 45$.please let me know. From which country are you from. I am from Goa India.
Dude, your videos are the bomb.com.. anytime you want to go offshore fishing on my boat out of Little Egg Harbor in Jersey, give me a shout. Would love to have ya.
Two Jacks, plus a Cobia, were a fine way to test the limits of the reel. The sharks tested the limits of your sphincter. ... ( "Gulp" or "FishBites"? )
Hey would you be willing to give something a try theres a phone app called wish or geek there the same they have some fishing gear most dirt cheap but maybe a reel or something from there
$36 deal of the year right here will out perform the other reels in this price range FOR SURE - amzn.to/2BoISwA
Agg I gotta fight the urge to buy an other reel.
I ordered one of these for a back-up/fishing buddy set up. Any advice on a pole to match it with?
I picked up an Epixor for $36,decided to put it on an Okuma Shadow Stalker MH rod. Should make for a nice combo.

Nice to see you out there in our little "beach". This time of year is always a good time around there. Great video!
Told ya!!!! lol.....
Having fun in my backyard Elias, well done!
I can just feel your excitement and the joy of catching those jacks and the cobia (It counts, in my opinion, short or not). Keep up the good work, 20 species to go.
18 species to go, I forgot the catfish, and the cobia still counts to me but I understand you want them to be legal size.
I would be terrified being on a yak and tipping over with those bull sharks doing a frenzy on the jack. Nice video!
I had my doubts from watching tackle advisors tear down if this reel BUT after seeing this perform now in a real world setting I think I may be reconsidering and go ahead and get one for the arsenal thanks for what you'll do
Jack in Wilmington? Wow! Never caught one. Didn't think they were here. Awesome video E!
Can you compare that to the Okuma Ceymar? They are the same price range but idk which one is more superior

Beginning of vid was the old Nantucket sleigh ride. Nice job on those brutes. That looked like a warm water discharge canal.
Incredible fishing Congratulations.
Have a great week and lots of fish on the Line.
*Hug!!!!!!!!* 👍🎣🐟🐠
When you said "Its a cobia" I was like BACK OFF THE DRAG!! Hahaha. Then the manatee!! Damn! Great video
Yeah, that Epixor is impressive. I'm sold on it.
Wooow that was crazy u had me on the edge of my seat. That's way I watch Kayak videos on RUclips. Be safe. Thank you for sharing.
I do no how to spell lol. why
awesome video and awesome reel man! love this series

You gotta love them Cobia. I caught my first one this year. I love the fight. Mine was 32 inches too, but they have to be 40 in Va.
Have you ever fished the other side of the steel wall? Some real nice cuts and pockets back there.
Awesome video as always //// Were in Fla. are you right now, off next winter starting to plan now...
Wonderful vid. Just bought my okuma epixor size 20 and cant wait to be tested by huge fish..gd job
Grats on the Cobia finally

wonder if my Daiwa120 Underspin will hold up to a dozen of the Jack Crevalle.
Hi, friend, what country are you in? you can fish the whole year
United States
As long as any fish is open you can fish if a differnt species is caught you just throw it back
Well if you continue south to the keys, you could see a crocodile and call it th south Florida fishing safari slam.
The manatee reaction was hilarious.
That reel company is good I keep hearing good things about it
Heart pounding video! Love it!
How’s the pompano bite over there? Might head there tomorrow morning...
Hey @EliasVFishing I have a question are blue fish and jacks in the same family???
Weren't you fishing around the Tampa area?
Great video thank you. The reel looks fine
caught a 23 lb yellow on an ancient epixor.. good reels for sure..
I’m headed to Florida the 26th probably going for some reds
Do you still have the okuma epixor and if so how is it holding up? Um considering getting a size 20 version
1:12 *AIN'T WE GOT FUN*

Love the videos man keep it up
0:27 Wow!!
Awesome work bro would love to see a review on the okuma azores you will be amazed, thanks and good luck
Its amazing you can catch quality game fish in protected waters. Great video Elias. Whose fishing with you today ?
Bobby from Connecticut!
Thanks for another terrific video, how do those Jacks compare to our NY Gorilla Blues ?
Jacks a little faster and more wide. They really push a lot of water.
Awesome video as always
7:00 now thats a gentle Hook set
Awesome video !
When you saw it was a Cobia you sounded a little like Seamoney.

thank you very much for the guidance, watching your video and Epixor is doing very well.
it will be my project for 2019
If you could just train those Jacks to take you where you wanted to go !
Interested to know how you feel about the Penn Pursuit as far as budget reels go, Elias
It all depends what you`re using it for but if you`re going to try use it for this kind of fishing it won`t last long.
What’ll go? The drag?
Drag and gears.@@Tigerpuffer
I have always said. Jack's look like a Yellow fin and Blue fish mated and the Jack Crevalle was born
@9:34 OH! THE HUGE MANATEE
That was a damn nice fish!
Best under $50, perhaps but certainly not the best under $75. The Penn Battle 2 beats it hands down for the drag alone. Great video.
I've had very bad experience with anti reverse failures on Penn Battle 2. But that's just personal experience and bad luck. This reel is also far smoother than even my Spinfisher.

Is this reel a saltwater spinning reel?
also how did you not crap in your dry suit when those manatees and sharks popped up, that scared me through the computer monitor
how sore were your arms after this

Is no more $45 dollar reel now cost around $70 in the USA
told you you have to watch out for bull sharks in those backwaters.. those are their nurseries.
Have had same background on my phone forever now
Pretty nuts dude.

I'm assuming you mean the old ones?
You should try a pfluger president. They are amazing for the price
all i got were wind knots on mine, had to return.
Neat
