  • Summer fun! Carolina reefs are certainly in aquarium mode at this point and the fishing is downright awesome. Sheepshead, flounder, redfish, spadefish, spanish macks, and an assortment of other fish are available this time of year.
    Worked my way to some inshore structure and picked a pair of spanish macks on a crippled herring. Then I switched up to the bottom sweeper jigs and went one for two on what I suspect were Sheepshead. On the way in some spadefish were surface blitzing and we rounded out the day with a bunch of those things.
    Great fishing overall!

    Your videos are the best; informative, straight forward, and good catching. I agree with Anthony on the ceviche: I need chopped cilantro in mine. Maybe some tomatoes and a touch of Old Bay or Magic Seafood in there too.

      Elijah French we got the Spanish mackerel and several other types of mackerel out in California. We use sabikis to catch 5 or 6 at a time.

      Elijah French You might be talking about the Northwest Coast. There’s also albacore that goes through that area.
      In the Southern part of the West like Southern California there is a lot more species. Especially pelagics.
      East Coast do have a lot of varieties. Both are great fisheries! 👍

    Great video. BTW I caught some Sheepshead the other day and used your advice on cleaning them. I still can't believe I have cleaned as many of them in the past and never noted that little pocket to place the knife in. It was awesome and made the fish much easier to clean. Thanks

    its funny a lot of people think mackerel is a trash fish. I love it as long as its fresh. same day or next day. We just did mackerel fish tacos yesterday. Half old bay, the other have blackened seasoning. Some soy and fresh lemon juice, fried in butter. Awesome.

    Hey man always enjoy your videos. Could you do a video of some more everyday stuff like how you freeze your fish if you catch a lot. How you get the blood and guts out of all your clothes etc? Or how to use a fish finder!

  • @mmmi8em244
    @mmmi8em244 5 лет назад

    Catch em all the time here in va. You gotta ice them really good and cut out all the blood line and eat them that day or the next. If you don't they get pretty strong tasting imo.
