He didn’t, Dinosaur (jr) was a new band and Lou still carried on with guitar in Sebadoh and then further projects… this is bare boned raw songwriting compared to the texture of the guitar work in something like Dino Jr. If it’s not for you whatever, but he’s one of the greatest songwriters of his generation imo and objectively not a bad guitarist by any mark, also J Mascis wrote Psyched to Die
CROWD: Happy birthday, J! We love you!
J MASCIS: Alright...
Never seen J put his hands above his head before. Fascinating.
I think this is the most ive seen j move
It’s funny to think Lou and J indirectly pioneered grindcore
"Wow...sounds pretty Dischargey to me."
It’s like shaking a blender while it’s grinding up rocks
Awesome! Thanks for sharing Philipp!
I bet they hadn't that wall of speakers back in 82
MY GOD J MASCIS CAN DRUM!!!!
He was drummer with Lou on guitar early on, then he played guitar, which he's pretty good at :-)
He taught Murph :)
I know. Legendary!
Nirvana asked him in 1990 to be there new drummer, but he declined
His first and still favorite instrument
yeah so brillianT!!! thank you!!!...
This is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amazing!
All I can say is thank god that Lou started playing bass instead
lou can do no wrong in my eyes
Why? Sebadoh > Dinosaur Jr.
