@@webcknow1521 It was a very long time ago,but I think they were having technical problems! I saw them at the town and country club as well ,which was better.all the best.
So at MBV’s concert, he uses almost a different amp for each song. Much like his guitars. Not every song get its own, but “Soon” for example...Kevin uses his Divided by 13 exclusively for that song.
@@GrungeIsN0tDeadNo worries dude! Just what he does. I’m sure Kevin could play through just 3-4 amps, but ATP gave him and the band $300k to get equipment and tour so I’m sure he just said “fuck it, if we’re gonna do this, we’re gonna do this the way it’s intended”. He borrowed a lot of amps during Isn’t Anything and Loveless’s recordings so that ATP funding was probably his chance to make it as close to correctly sounding as possible.
Underneath the orange combo is a Hitone amp head(Hiwatt clone). Besides J Mascis, 3. Stack(Marshall Superlead, Marshall PA, Hiwatt), there is another Hiwatt head w/ two Marshall cabs pointing across the stage. From what I remember Thorn was usually played through a Hiwatt stack live. Seems like he borrowed J Mascis Squire(judging by body shape) for performance. He also played another song that night w/ a strat? Bob Mould and other musicians played w/ Dino Jr.
@@obscurebandfan that would of been cool if kevin took over vocals but i think maybe he was just trying to let the guy show him "his version" of the song and let him have his moment
"KEVIN SHIELDS IN ONSTAGE SHUTUP"
this guy gets it
I honestly hate it when people scream that kind of thing at a concert, it's just annoying and stressful. They're not helping anybody.
@@coffee5736 This is probably the last show where it would matter anyway, you aren't going to hear the audience when they play.
Brilliant.
JAJAJAJJAJAJAJAJAJAAJAJAJAJAJJA

I cannot even imagine how loud this was
sounds like the sound barrier was broken atleast
I can. J is LOUD. 😂
What?!??!!!!!!😂
A 18th century composer and wizard playing together at a live show

Your name perfectly describes what your profile picture sounds like
One of the benefits of being Kevin Shields is that you can't hear the hecklers anyway
I fucking love "Thorn" one of my favorite fucking tracks of MBV their Eps are phenomenal. I love watching this clip over and over.

First saw my bloody valentine well over 30 years ago in Camden which they say was their worst gig ,I think the support was a band called summerhill.

@@TheMightyChuRro it was really bad but saw them again at the town and country which was a lot better
@@soundhead6971wdym it was bad were they messing up or had a bad sound ?

che figata!!!😀
tremendo
Thorn could very well be a Dinosaur Jr. music. It have a compatible sonority with this band.
Now that I think about it, Lou's very punchy sound is very reminiscent of Deb's bass playing
:28 Kevin Shields shits his pants..
so good
legends
i wanna see dinosaur jr

This is great, but what was all that yelling at the start about?!?!
Murph always looks to Barlow

Why the wall of amps when he can sound good in an Orange amp
I believe the 3 stacks are part of J Mascis' rig

You could tell Kevin was not very pleased with the way the vocalist butchered his song
Fair enough, but why didn't he take vocals? If it was too high a key they could have tuned down for it

That’s Lou Barlow bud

Lou Barlow of Dinosaur Jr, Sebadoh, Folk Implosion, etc? He’s not exactly a lightweight. Bulk of the 90’s, dude.
