Loudest show I've ever experienced, maybe slightly surpassed by the following night at Roseland Ballroom. Legitimately scary in places. I'm glad I mostly wore earplugs. In the moments I wasn't, just to get a full sense of the thing, I was hearing the strangest ghost harmonics and overtones in my ears. People whispering in one ear or the other (there was no one there), choirs of voices fluttering by. Absolutely strange and never experienced again.
I saw them on the Loveless tour and for decades it remained one of the loudest and most amazing auditory experiences I've ever had. In recent years I've been able to see them two more times and it's pretty much the same. I know exactly what you mean about getting the full sense of the volume. It's astounding to take in, but then the ear plugs go back in. The other similar concert experience I've had is seeing Spiritualized several times.
At their show at Roseland I saw the lady in front of me pass out at the end during the white noise outro. Her knees buckled and everyone caught her. It was insane. Loudest thing I've ever experienced.
I was at the Toronto show. It's funny I don't remember him looking this young. It's been a minute since then. Saw them again in 2013. I hope to see them again before I die.
Saw them in Richmond this tour and it was mind blowing. Sign were posted warning about the volume. Everyone had their hands in the air as the music and bass infiltrated your body. Music you can see, hear, and feel! Was incredible.
Very loud and pretty unforgettable. As the years pass it becomes more and more special that you were there. You got a little bit of something truly special that there is only a limited amount of.
Love how the rest of the band is having fun over on the left and Kevin's just standing there on the right doing his thing. Also you can actually hear Bilinda's guitar!!
saw several of the 2008 shows, incredible. good reminder of how good the visuals where too! anybody know where the video loop of the running girl might be from?

Same but it was worth it!
It felt like they were compressing my internal organs when I saw them live. Insane.
There was atmospheric pressure quantum weirdness due to loudness at that show. I wondered if there would be any air molecules left to breath.
@@demiansims728 the city is still reverberating
I hope every MBV fan gets to see them live in person at least once. It's something else entirely.

At minute 3:10 Kevin's Jaguar turns magically into a Jazzmaster. Scary stuff 😨

Holyshit, Yes. How is it though? Looks that small clip is edited from different song I guess 😄
Colm’s drumming is always too good
I saw them during this tour in Seattle, it was awesome! The wall of sound at the end had people screaming and covering their ears, I had plugs.🙂
This was hands down one of the best shows I’ve ever seen…
I was lucky to see them in Toronto 2008 and hear this song. One of my favs by them

Sounds like it could easily be a Dinosaur Jr song! Absolute tune tho
Or a Sugar song 😮🎧
both known to be the loudest bands ever
@3:09 kevin is playing a jazzmaster for about 3 seconds... then back to the jaguar. so... there's another song on video that this was spliced from

Thanks for uploading this, can’t imagine what it’s like to see them live. Unreal.

Thanks for the great upload, never a seen a live performance video of them with such clarity. Do you have any more footage from this gig like this?
dont have any more from this gig but i just uploaded a new mbv video hope you enjoy!
Lance Bangs is a world class videographer, if you can get ahold of him he probably has the whole show.
Pity the sound has none 😅
@@SuziesAshes10 I actually think the sound is pretty great i mean its not going through the soundboard and its loud as fuck lol
I need that bass, it's almost a thunderbird I love it
Thank you. I was there and lucky to see my favorite band live.
Seems like the loudest gig in the world. I can imagine each head on the crowd popping out one by one like popcorn.
It was. And then imagine Dinosaur Jr. Comes on. That was the first time I saw them.
there it is! the surfcaster!

SO WELL WORTH THAT SHIT
i wish i could've seen them in fyf 2018 but the festival was cancelled because of one of the organizer's harassment allegations.
