I love how this song is basically a love/hate letter from one band member to another. The message: no matter how much you may think you've grown to hate an old friend, most of the time the relationship is worth salvaging... especially if you create awesome music like this together.
The fact that this band had written and recorded this song, plus shooting this acid trip of a music video, completely drug and alcohol free astonishes me. I'm sober and will continue to be, but my mind cannot be this fucked while nothing is going through me. By I mean "fucked", I mean disturbingly fascinating and maybe orgasmic. Dinosaur Jr were constantly being raved about in the British music press (Melody Maker, NME) back in the 80s.That's where I got to hear about them and bought their first SST album, You're Living All Over Me, on the strength of the reviews they were getting. I really liked that album and definitely think it's their best.

We saw them live for the 1st time 10/2/22 Columbus, OH. I feel like it was the best live rock show I've ever been to, so loud and awesome energy. I brought my wife and 11 y.o. daughter to her first concert ever so that's a forever memory for us. Hopefully I'll get to see them play live again and hear and learn more of their music as well. They've definitely earned a spot in my favorite bands of all time.
