    I just have to say that you have quickly become my favorite “candle guru” on RUclips. I never feel like you put out a video just because you needed to post something. Every video I’ve seen from you is helpful, well thought out, and serves a purpose.
    Thanks for your comprehensive review! Also, what does your shirt say? I kept trying to read the bottom with no luck 😆

    Wade, no one should consider you or your channel fluff. If someone has thrown you shade, they need to watch more of your videos, lol! Yes, you've done some lighter videos, but I personally find constant heavy content depressing. I think you do an awesome job balancing the information you give. Done with that!
    Thank you so much for reviewing these fragrances so thoroughly. It really helps me as a soap and candy maker. I love knowing as much about a fragrance as I can before diving in, from a reliable source. I consider you a reliable source. In the long run it saves me money, which I'm over the moon about. Also the thoroughness of your testing is unlike most makers I have come across on YT. So, thank you so much!
    Question: with the apple and peppercorn. I have never had anything like that in my line, ever. If my goal was to have an apple fragrance with the peppercorn in the background would 75% apple and 25% apple peppercorn be a good starting point? Or more like 90% to 10% be right? I'm just trying to get a feel how strong that bad boy is in wax, lol .
    It was a great video Wade, very informative!

      Thanks Jill for your positive reinforcement. Nope, no one has said anything negative or mentioned anything as being fluff. I just wanted to community that I don't just talk and teach, but thst I actually DO as well. :)
      Thanks for your support as always. And yes, every video can't be hardckre educational. Have to have casual in there as well. :)
      As far as mixing apple in... id probably start with 50/50 ad adjust from there. Yes the peppercorn is strong but I don't think it would take a ton to tone it down. Plus I wouldn't want to drown out the peppercorn too much. :)

    Thank you, I haven’t tried the samples from CS Spring collection but I will be testing fragrances with the kiddies today since they don’t have school... I’m dying for that Apple corn now that you talked about that heavy pepper corn. That Pali santo actually sounds nice too the grass and also that pink sugar and the neroli jasmine and the lavender driftwood seems like scents that would go for my ideal collection. Thanks for your review. I tried the scents I created myself and it has strong cold throw no hot throw! 🙅🏽‍♀️💁🏽‍♀️I guess I’m not a scientist 👩🏽‍🔬... I will have to discover CS BB & WW and see what happens 🤷🏽‍♀️

    Thank you so much for this! I looooooove fragrance oil reviews and you took it to the next level. It’s just something that you can spend so much money on and it totally ads up.
    And wow to you putting your money where your mouth is. But now, I hope candle science sends you their entire line and you can do this. But don’t necessarily have to buy that... 😂
    And congrats on your channel growth. Well deserved.
    I almost forgot, I’ve always loved jasmine and low key disappointed that it’s getting so much attention now with CS launching it. I have the WW version and it’s nice! Although ultimately not my favorite - I’m only starting with 4-5 scents in my line, so I have to be VERY discerning - I def think it should be in someone’s repertoire of scents if they have a well rounded collection. I feel like it’s one that a lot of people will like. At least the WW one. Very strong in a wax melt and I think I needed to take the FO load down.

    I also made a few candles after your first review. I did the Lavender Driftwood, Apple Peppercorn, and I blended the Palo Santo & Black Coral and Moss. I’ve only burned the Lavender Driftwood so far, and I thought the lavender came through quite a bit. I’ll have to light it again. I thought that it was a strong scent. I really don’t care for lavender, so that may be why. Anyway, you’re right about the Apple Peppercorn’s cold throw. It smells kind of bitter to me. I can’t smell any real fruity notes. I’m a fruity scent type person, so I was looking for the apple. I will definitely mix it with a Macintosh apple, or BBW type apple dupe. The last two, as I mentioned, were blended. The cold throw is great. Smells like a tall, dark, and handsome well dressed man! 😬 And congratulations on the 10k following!!!! 🍾🎉🎊

    Awesome video. Lots of work. Thanks for all of your efforts Wade. Love it. Were those CS Small Straight Threaded Jars? If they were I see why, as you don't need to make & use more wax for the larger Medium Straight for just FO testing. Makes total sense. Why didn't I think of that :-) So you must have a formula that if a certain wick works in the Small Straight then it corresponds with a certain one of the same type in the Med Straight. Hmmm ... I just came up with that. Maybe I'm wrong. Anyways dude, awesome awesome job, and I just profusely thank you for it.

      Unfortunately, sizing larger jars based off smaller testers didn't quite work out that way most of the time. It can serve as a starting point though for testing. Just too many factors and variance to trust resizing.

      Hi Belinda. Honestly I just used a few guesses. I was testing the scent more than how the candles burned. I'd have to dig through my records to see, I don't recall off hand. If I had to give a starting point, I'd say htp 62 for problend 600, htp 83 for 6006, and htp 104 for 3022. But those are just best guesses and starting points. :)

    You made me laugh out loud at some of your reactions. Peppercorn doesn't sound inviting AT ALL and I too love Apple, especially with Cinnamon. I hate the smell of Lavender and don't know why anyone would buy it except for the color. My favorite candle scents are:
    Apple Cinnamon, Lemon Verbena, Lemon Chiffon, Honeysuckle, and Vanilla. If you have any of those, I'd love to try them. How can I order from you?
    I used to sell Home Interior products and loved their small jar candles...until their factory burned to the ground. That was probably their undoing. They never seemed to recover from that loss in spite of their new candle line. Loved being an independent contractor/ demonstrator for that company.

      @@MochaVR8011 Hey Caleb. Hmmm, I have ordered lots from acandleco and there was no minimum order. I just visited the site again and still no minimum. They sell the wick holders in 50 packs: www.acandleco.com/Wholesale-Candle-Packaging-and-Candle-Making-Supplies_c_160.html
      Unless we are talking about different things. But my last order was for only $66. :)
      The wax melter you saw is a digiboil, you can find them several places but I also have this model from Amazon. They are basically all the same, just rebranded: amzn.to/3ckTgJE

    Hi, thanks for the video! Do you use Vybar when you do your testing? I thought it was a UV inhibitor, but does it boost hot throw? I see a lot of confusing comments online, but I trust your expertise :)

    • @BlackTieBarn
      @BlackTieBarn  3 года назад +1

      Whatever I plan to use in my final product I use in testing. I only use vybar with certain products. Most don't need it or already have it. You would want to ask your supplier or manufacturer if it already includes vybar.
      But yes...I test with whatever I plan to be in the final product.:)

      @@BlackTieBarn Thanks, we are using igi6006 only. I figured it already has what it needs, but all of these proprietary blends are a mystery to me. I saw your 6006 video (the blue spruce?) and I thought you added Vybar to it. You mentioned about it preserving the integrity of the color, but I keep hearing about it helping the hot throw.

    • @BlackTieBarn
      @BlackTieBarn  3 года назад +1

      @@theangrykitten Ok gotcha. What I added to the 6006 was UV Inhibitor which help slow down color fading from UV light over time. You wouldn't want to add Vybar to 6006 as it already has what it needs. :)

    Iam wondering about your choices in scent reviews. I have a company called JUST SCENTS and I personally have bought more scents from this company then any other one.In talking to many others the order from there as well.Iam shocked Ive never seen then mentioned in any way what so ever.This makes me suspicious as to your motivation in picking companys to review,Btw this is not meant to be sarcastic in any way , I just was hoping you would give me your take on this and I am hoping this is not a money making avent for you. Once again, I hope I can ask you without you getting upset!

    • @BlackTieBarn
      @BlackTieBarn  2 года назад

      I don't have any motivation in who I choose. I review the ones I use or that are sent to me. That is all. I can't possibly review the thousand of FO companies out there. So I review the oils I use myself or that are sent to me.
      I get no monetary value from the reviews. They aren't sponsored. I'm not paid to review FOs from. Candle science for example. I just review what I have or what is sent. Companies reach out to me, not the other way around. So they can send me something to review if they want. But I don't currently use their oils so I have nothing to review.
