Onewheel this is why I got a boosted board because I live in a very hilly area and i really don’t want to nosedive tho I would want the off-road capability I just take my bike for that
Almost every user of a Onewheel has admitted that a nose dive is inevitable on it. That is pretty bad. Your device needs a better design to minimise the risk of nose dives, but your company would rather be stubborn and see someone die on one than accept that. Even some small alterations would help. For example, you could make the edge of the boards you stand on curve upwards - a bit like a skateboard does - so it doesn't touch the ground as easily. You could also make the device beep loudly to indicate that you are approaching the recommended speed limit. Another thing you can do is put some small wheels underneath the front and back edges of the board so you are not instantly thrown off it the second it touches the ground when going at moderate speed.

@@AndysCuts Dang, no helmet, you've got major courage on that. lol I just found these things called fangs. I'm about it order some. They are like little wheels that you install at the end of a one wheel so if your board dips instead of stopping abruptly, the board rolls giving you time to adjust and react (really impressive). they really should make fangs a standard.
@@AndysCuts dude how about I dislocated my shoulder for weeks ago from a nose dive. Was going 20mph and I had pads, full face helmet, and the board just dove on me on rough pavement (no hill). I usually ride above 20 with no problem for a year and half. Gotta sell mine man, was waiting in the emergency room for 7 hours in pain.
I completely tore ACL, obliterated one Meniscus, and partially tore the other meniscus... In other words... I wrecked my knee so very badly! This was while going super slow.. bcuz I was getting over a speed bump. I too had an Sony A7iii in my right hand, but on ronin -s gimbal. Since that fall caused me to have major surgery, and almost a year of physical therapy to be able to walk properly again... I thought a lot about how it happened. First of all balancing a camera while riding puts your upper body and lower body at odds with each other! This makes a 1 mile per hour fall potentially extremely dangerous. Add to that the gimbal which is in it self a very focus intensive activity to achieve what it is meant to do. You get a circus act that idiots imitating RUclipsrs should stay away from. Second problem is that even without any of the added weight or troubles that come with shooting on an electric board, the Onewheel is crazy dangerous if you compare it to almost anything else. Nose dives are a certainty. Which means eating asphalt is a certainty. So If you did not grow up with boards and extreme sports, and have many years under your belt... then do not be so confident. Know that this stuff is insidiously serious.
All the safety gear in the world ain't gonna stop you from breaking bones. When your body slams hard into the ground, something's gotta give and your bones will absorb all that impact and break as a result. onewheel is a dangerous device that can do serious damage or kill.
If you keep a good charge and enjoy how well the board performs and respect, key WORD, respect the limits of all the physics involved, it is such a safe, fun and excellent mode of transportation. It is so easy to ride, and how quick you learn it, even as someone who can’t even Ollie (like me) you WILL want to push its limits. Wear head to toe pads until you nosedive at high speed. You will gain a real respect for the board and be able to enjoy it without major injury for its lifetime. RT
This is strictly written for the XR. Fun fact. My weight has fluctuated between 250/280 currently. Still just one crash 16 mph average mostly upgrade… The thing is a beast, just like me… Respect the beast!🤟🏽
Heal up! I broke my Ulna... First bone break ever lol! Having a BLAST while doing it. Same thing, got too comfortable too soon. Its easy to do. I was going 20 according to my onewheel haha. Road rash and all. I will be back on it though as soon as I can.
OMG. I almost got rid of it right away. It was just not worth the pain and missing work. As an adult that had a full time job, hurting my arm like this sucks
I fell off my onewheel xr about six months ago riding through pushback. I had extreme pain/swelling developing around my right elbow with limited range of motion. No xrays to confirm any fractures and I did self therapy through exercises/stretching. I’m thinking that your injury is similar to mine and it will heal in time, good luck.
I had a very similar skateboarding injury. I couldn't extend my arm either. Ended up being a fracture near the elbow. No cast because it needed to be stretched. According to the doc, if I didn't stretch my arm regularly I might have lost some range of motion. Hope everything healed well.

The only gear I wear these days is elbow and knee pads because I got nothing but scar tissue on my right elbow, arm and shoulder. Technically I could wear pads on the right side only and be good but it would look goofy as sh*t.

Tore my MCL in pretty much the same way on my pint. At slow speed, and slightly leaning back to get slower as I headed down a driveway, I encountered the street level which had a very slight incline and my board took a nosedive. With my feet 'stuck' to the board, I tumbled backward as the board went flying. As I play the incident back in my head, not sure there's anything I could have done differently. It happened so fast. I was vastly aware of the riding conditions and have been riding for over a year. The time to react had to be less than a second.
sorry bruh. 2 crashes here and both were uphill nose dives at 10mph and more. Got really really comfotable and pressed nose down pretty hard till pushback backed off and pushed hard again and learned the hard way twice now! Dont push hard on the nose going uphill. It was my fault twice
Ouch! Thanks for sharing your story. So others can learn is there one thing you would suggest to do differently? I wasn't sure if wrist guards are a factor or if you think having just one hand free was a culprit. Best,
A Unicycle is better, let me explain: I’ve ridden them both (I also own an Evolve Bamboo gtx) & the onewheel is not as capable as a unicycle, for example you can jump a unicycle up & down curbs & even down stairs if you’re brave enough. Plus a unicycle can do 30mph (gotway msuperx) & climb 45 degree hills without nose bite like the onewheel does. Plus unicycles have a more natural riding stance & have USB ports for phone charging etc. The onewheel is good but no way as stable at high speed like a unicycle because the onewheel tyre is too wide & square.
@@AndysCuts Electric skateboards can also be very dangerous if you don't wear any protection. Have already experienced this myself and since then I have always been wearing protective equipment. What??? How come?
That arm was enough for me. Haha
Careful with them falls man! The OneWheel is great, but the worst falls seem to come when people get too comfortable. Always be on guard!
Yup. I was going to get rid of it and get a one gear bike. But now I miss the one wheel
I hope you recover quickly and stay riding! Despite its limitations, there’s no feeling like riding the OneWheel.
@@euc_sharkman thanks!
Skiing, snowboarding, surfing, skateboarding..... all have risk of injury. Push the envelope even a little and the risk goes way up.
In your situation, if you were going over 10 mph, you should have just hopped off. You can lift your legs off the ground without actually bending your knees. Hope you were wearing a helmet. Just ordered my XR, and please believe I'm getting hand guards too. Hope you have healed well friend.
No helmet. Can’t do it. I’m scared now.
Ouch!!
I feel for you bro, wishing you a fast recovery mate.
Thank you
Great video! Gotta say, I love my one wheel, and will probably continue to push the barriers on it! good luck!
So what was the outcome with your arm? Maybe you answered in another video, but it sounded like maybe a radial head fracture.
that was crazy, i would've saved my sony too like you did, lol
I had a very similar skateboarding injury. I couldn't extend my arm either. Ended up being a fracture near the elbow. No cast because it needed to be stretched. According to the doc, if I didn't stretch my arm regularly I might have lost some range of motion. Hope everything healed well.
Yup. What I have. Thanks
Safety first kids.
Exactly what I’m saying
Get well Andy and nice job trying to save your Sony but your health is more important that your electronics I know I know they are expensive I have done the same thing but with my MacBook and my iPhone X's Maxx 500 gig so I get ya. Get well man
Thank you.
That's why I'm glad I can skateboard. You pretty much learn how to fall. lol
野村ERIK I know how to fall but that doesn’t help you when it launches you unexpectedly
@@trevorhunt9138 sounds like never rode that skateboard on dem streets, errant rock or cr@ckKk be chuckKkin mf'z off a board quicker than skater rocking a cranium with their board at a "protest"
Thats the truth, they always say wear a helmet when you ride your Onewheel, Fuk that all my years skating as a kid and knowing how to crash properly I never hit my head, tuck and roll. The only gear I wear these days is elbow and knee pads because I got nothing but scar tissue on my right elbow, arm and shoulder. Technically I could wear pads on the right side only and be good but it would look goofy as sh*t.
Dislocated my elbow last week. It sucks. Any body want to buy my Onewheel?? Be safe.
Reminds me of the time I dropped my brand new chainsaw. Luckily Im a one finger typist.
I hope ur joking lol 😅
u know the most funny thing about this onewheel product is? nothing happens to the wheel in almost every crash ever recorded on youtube and look at the riders...just crazy...
Had only 2 weeks and I hurt myself . Not worth with all the harm it can do . I won’t be walking like normal for few months
I've never laughed so hard at a thumbnail and title before
Why lol
I have the same lens and camera. I’m getting a used onewheel too. I’ve promised myself to not carry that camera on it for a long time. Just cell phone and old Rx100 for filming.
When I got on a skateboard for the first time in 9 years I fell the same way you did and shattered my elbow. Always wear elbow and knee pads on whatever you ride. 😬😬😬
Fuck mane , will do , was thinking of passing on em and just the helmet but after that thought ima get the elbows and knees pads , I'm 24 now and used to unicycle and skate ( just ride the board never did tricks ) and I used to jump my bike with my friends, so I've gone down many times and have kinda always been lucky with how I go down but fuck I was 15 to 17 but it's been a while and I've never broken a bone before so I'm not tryna just go out one day and shatter my elbow fuck mane , I don't have insurance either so ima get the pads
both feet bro. same time, always.
I wanted to but it just happened
I always wear full protection gear when riding. Hope you get better man.
Smart man
@@AndysCuts My board is coming in. Got my elbow pads and helmet en route as well. My arm was broken last year and I'm not taking any chances ever again.
@@WhiskeyToro what kinda safety gear ya recommend? How would said gear have helped out this gentleman?
Asking from this perspective..
Perspective of a "retired" 40yr old family man looking to buy one of these to keep my bored a$$ "busy"
oNe
p.s. I rode bmx, nothing crazy this, mainly manuals and feeble grinds
Saves camera. Mad respect!
Did you heal alright ? I pulled my meniscus and my right right leg is bent out place . Only had it a week before this injury . Too bad
sorry bruh. 2 crashes here and both were uphill nose dives at 10mph and more. Got really really comfotable and pressed nose down pretty hard till pushback backed off and pushed hard again and learned the hard way twice now! Dont push hard on the nose going uphill. It was my fault twice
So with dual fake shoulders I should stay off of this, right!?
The intro made me shit myself and fall out of my chair
Ouch! Thanks for sharing your story. So others can learn is there one thing you would suggest to do differently? I wasn't sure if wrist guards are a factor or if you think having just one hand free was a culprit. Best,
I think you might be right. The one hand free night be it
Every A7III owners NIGHTMARE!
100%. It was not fun
Hope you’re ok bro. Happy floating!
How much did you get it for used?!?!
Thanks for posting this, "Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face." (Mike Tyson)
Well... This should all be obvious common sense... If it isn't, You probably shouldn't be riding one lmao
Oh man, take some rest and speedy recovery bro. Sorry this happened to you.
Yup. It sucks but I’m not going to let it keep me down
@@AndysCuts My man! and congrats on 30k bro.
Want to see avid so where u felt down?better see a doc before its to late...🤔
Yeah but you look real gay on a electric unicycle
By the first 5 sec I can tell you ride regular lol
I seriously thought I'm goofy
I think if you can ride the one wheel it's really cool. But this thing is really dangerous. buy instead an e-board
Yes, it's really dangerous. I'd probably not recommend it to anyone
@@AndysCuts
Electric skateboards can also be very dangerous if you don't wear any protection. Have already experienced this myself and since then I have always been wearing protective equipment.
It's great that you educate people. I wish you a good recovery 😊💪🏽 Nevertheless, do not let the fun be taken away from you and also spend a lot of money on protection. :)
Do u still own ur onewheel till now
Nope
‼🙏🏼‼ *As a new one wheel rider, you need to know that the deck is totally stacked against you by the longitudinal "balancing" technology which often fails, and at best.... marches strictly to the beat of complex electro-propulsion physics that has only been adequately explained by ONE youtuber in all these years.* You've been warned.
Do you see yourself getting back on the onewheel?
NOt a chance
Andy Tran
Wow. Fall was that bad? Sorry to hear.
Get well soon and go to the doctor. Better safe than sorry!
Yup. I agree
Wow! Just saw Potato Jet's video and now yours. Get better Andy!!
Seriously. This isn’t fun
I fractured my elbow and stretched my tendons, I had too go too the doc for a splint. I hope u did go
I did. And I also sold it immediately
@@AndysCuts So what was the outcome for the injury? Was it a fractured bone or broken bone or anything with tendons?
I had a similar thing happen to me a few weeks ago. I landed on my hands after nosediving while speeding up from a dead stop. The impact cause me to crack my radial bone in my arm. Get that thing X Rayed, I had to get multiple X Rays before they properly diagnosed the crack.
Holy crap. Worth it?
Andy Tran I mean I suppose they didn’t do anything to help me other than to tell me to take Tylenol haha. I’m Canadian so it was free for me to get the X rays
@@matthewshaheen what? Free?! I'm moving to Canada
Andy Tran haha let me know when you do and we’ll float
Is this explaining onewheel or his injury???
You can break your arm walking off a curb wrong too
Lol that’s true
As soon as I heard it wasnt broken....DONE
game over
His chair is worth as much as his one wheel.
A few days back/ago I was riding my Xiaomi M365 (scooter) I was riding at 25km/h and I saw a kangaroo 🦘 on my path so I was about to slow down... a fly found its way to my eye so I panicked and slammed on the breaks... I when head first to the concrete/ash volt... luckily I had a helmet on so THANK GOD but no other protection... my right knee is absolutely gashed to the point of a light bone sighting😬... I’m 13 so it didn’t hurt that bad... I’m also a skater so I’m used to it but it’s been 2 hours and The blood has formed a jell while I was cleaning my shoes and scooter from the blood🤦🏽♀️🤦🏼♂️ anyways all g... was he wearing a ⛑ helmet!!!??? Now my hand has become a bit infected from some left over gravel😤😳😬😲 hope some tumeric will help🤗🙏🏼😇🙂🙃
Man, that sucks, you shoukda just kept your tail on the ground and scratched the board
Yeah, I tried that but as a wannabe vlogger I had a camera in my other hand
Go to the doctors. Prevent long term injuries and get it checked out.
my insurance sucks
Omg get well soon andy
Thanks!
Hope you a speedy recovery🙏💯
thank you
Get to a doctor. Seriously. There are many things that might have happened that could have serious repercussions. Good luck. Thanks for the warning.
🙏🏼 thanks!
Pretty sure US medical bills are more expensive than lenses and cameras.

Went over a speed bump on my one wheel and broke my wrist :c
Get well soon.
Thanks
Oh No poor Sony lens! lol Feel better bro!
Jump to 3:07 to get the actual video 🤘😉
I am always amazed that people can ride these things ( I have an XR and a Pint) while doing anything other than concentrating on riding. It takes all my attention to ride. I know your pain though, I did a nose dive from too high speed. The app said I was doing 26 MPH when I crashed. Trying to keep the speed down now. Best of luck on healing up. Keep riding, dont let this end the float!!
How bad was your injury?
Damn brotha glad youre ok.
me too. this feeling sucks. sold it
when traction breaks
Yup
I broke my scaphoid. I would like to know if it's okay to ride with a broken bone¿
I had a one wheel add right before
Don't text while driving, don't film on onewheel.
