I missed my gem Town in the video. Nothing was better to me than loading up a custom game on round 20 and just blasting away zombies for hours. Whenever I had a rough day, town was there with some meatbags waiting. I remember creating my own path where I'd instantly buy the mp5, jug, and double tap. From there on I'd simply train, buy more mp5 ammo, and wait until the end of the round to buy other perks/weapons. One of my favorite stress relievers since elementary school; town will always be in my top 5.
I would've put Der Riese higher - mainly because of it's replayability and simplicity. One of my biggest annoyances about a lot of the zombies maps that followed from it was that everything became so complicated in them that you'd either have to google everything or absolutely need a 4 person team with good communication to get through them enjoyably.
Yeah Der Riese is easiest S tier pick ever. It's actually amazing that Treyarch got basically the perfect map design down after only 4 tries, especially when they would end up stumbling and forgetting what makes a good map for countless examples afterward.
Nacht is a great survival map, it's a really basic and simple experience that is sometimes better than needing to worry about doing parts of an Easter egg to have fun

Die Rise deserves a lot more love imo! People love to clump it together with Tranzit, and while I can understand the reasons for doing this I would argue that it isn't really fair to think this way. The sliquifier is one of the most pure and fun wonderweapons in zombies (as well as unironically one of the most overpowered for high rounds across all the games), camping on the roof with friends is a ton of fun, and messing around with the tramplesteams to make absurd jumps across the map or to troll random players made for some hilarious memories. The map's flaws are also a bit blown out of proportion. The falling damage is rough and navigating around some of the lower areas can be a bit dizzying, but this map is certainly leagues beyond Tranzit. Unlike Tranzit, the map is fully accessible, there are usable weapons (the AN94 and SVU are two of the best wall weapons in zombies history), there are reliable methods for high rounds, and, rather than being polluted with fog, the environment is littered with so many interesting little details and chinese cultural elements that most players never even notice. It is one of the most easily forgettable maps and one that not too many people were thrilled with upon release, but I'd honestly recommend grabbing some friends together and giving it an open-minded second chance if anyone still has Bo2 installed.

When I first saw zombies gameplay, it was transit, then I wasn't able to play for a whole 2 months and I first played ascension, then fell in love with Kino, which I played along with 5 and green run maps cause no dlc's, then got bo3 with zombies chronicles and loved ot

Definitely enjoyed the comedic approach to this ranking. Map design and the different features for each one are just way too nebulous to provide an objective critique, so being upfront that this is purely your own thoughts about the maps and how you feel about them gives it a personal touch that I adore. And your reasoning for each ranking remained consistent and understandable. While I'm not sure I have the exact same order as you do, your Top 3 are exactly the same as mine. Every other map I have some major gripe(s) with, but those 3 are easily the best IMO. And while I don't agree with Nacht being at the very bottom (Die Rise and Tranzit are both god-awful experiences), I can understand the frustrations with its extremely simplistic and slow design.
Finally someone who puts Moon high up on lists. Complaining about the spacemen when you can literally forget about them and obliterate them when they show up and the excavators aren't a chore as it essentially was the predecessor to templar zombies but instead of losing pap which you only need once it fundamentally causes changes. I am also glad you mentioned the hacker, that little bugger gets so overlooked with all the cool shit you can do not to mention the hijinks of just qed and it's hundred of stupid effects of possibly just ending the game.

HOT TAKE: Die Rise is mad fun, I enjoy everything about it. I grew up playing BO2 and Die Rise was always my favorite map because to me, being in skyscrapers and jumping from building to building was sick. I loved the troll potential with the sliquifier and trampoline. It also introduced Whos who, arguably one of the worst perks because of the way it works but to me it was just awesome to have a chance to revive yourself without QR. My main problem was never the verticality and dying from falling off the map, that rarely happened to me. I’d die most of the time from getting trapped in the small rooms.
i dont have the die rise dlc but i loved tranzit and one of my favorite parts about it was the challenge of when one of ur friends goes down and you hop off the bus to revive them but now your both stranded in a specific area until the bus comes back and you have to figure out how to survive i feel like the same thing would happen on die rise with the moving perks
I swear I'm like the only one in the entire community that played Town, it always gets left off these lists LOL. Shouldn't get ranked that high or even above the other simple maps like Kino but it's a better map than people give it credit for imo. Love the vid tho! Lookin forward to seein this channel pop off

Kino introduced me to Zombies I would play it on other people's consoles , when I got black ops 2 and my own console the same time the game came out I would play all of the Black ops 2 maps and I loved Die rise, its my favourite map to this day... Purely based on the reason that if it wasn't for die rise and how hard it was and how tight the hallways were and how hard-core of a map it was I wouldn't be the Zombies player I am today. It teaches you such an immense amount of skill that you could easily become a top tier Zombies player and it makes every other map easier. I was scared of moon and five before die rise... What I'm trying to say is die rise built me up to be an absolute op Zombies player so literally any other map was just a walk in the park and that's why I love it.
The whole setup with the map animations on the tier list is excellent. Great video and definitely my favorite of the “zombies maps ranked” video styles

Mob of the dead was my favourite I think it’s just cos of the setting it looked amazing also I understand the hate towards die rise but I have so many memories from that map

I don’t really care much for Easter Eggs or high rounds, I just like a tough and fun zombies experience, so in that regard Mob and Origins really deliver. But if I cared about Easter Eggs and/or high rounds, I’d probably prefer the BO3 maps. I just feel like their wonder weapons kinda break the maps at times.

the WaW Der Reise Wunderwaffe does NOT take away your jug, what it actually does is far worse. When you shock yourself with the Wunderwaffe in Der Reise, it decreases your health to a level that makes you a one hit kill, which it also does on Shi No Numa. So why does it not "take your jug" on Shi No Numa? Between Shi No Numa and Der Reise, the dogs were reworked to not be as strong as they were in Shi No Numa, owever, in doing so they changed the players health mechanics so that the code for health regeneration was nolonger compatible with the Wunderwaffes code that tells the player to begin regenerating health after shocking yourself. The Wunderwaffe doesn't take away your jug, it reduces you to a one hit then fails to tell the player to regenerate health.
This is one of the only few acceptable and sensible tier lists I've seen. Well done. I ended up only having one major disagreement however, lol. Thought you were a bit too harsh on Nacht considering it's the very first zombie map ever made; you should at least give it a D tier for pioneering 3arc Zombies.
Great video! Your right about there not being any way of making this list objective. Liked the idea of doing a ranking in a comical way instead of the typical serious way that many have done before. My only criticism of the video is the lack of background audio. I think it would've helped to "ambient" the maps positioning in a better way (like using dumb/angry music at F tier, but at higher tiers using the map respective music, ambience, etc.)

I might just be a big fan of bo3, but zetsubo is A tier for me and rev b. Reason being ee that are somewhat challenging are fun for me. I love coming back and doing SOE-Rev every once in a year
That is the truest take I've heard about Nacht. Also, I know you kinda put TranZit in the trash, but I actually like it. Given that the last time I played it was 8 years ago, I enjoyed how difficult the map was and the way it was designed (a more skill based map). You had to dodge lava, defeat the 'avocado' every several rounds, not get lost and die in the fog, and so much more. The only bad things were that players would troll with the EMP grenades, and the fact that the power room is like a flashbang the moment you walk in, really hurts to be in there. Btw, a little detail as to why Origins is top tier is because of the Boomhilda itself. You could do insane movement if you knew how to use it correctly. Too bad they nerfed it to the ground in Bo3 though, I mean the tank and trench jumps are still possible, but it's a lot more difficult.
Call me a masochist but I really really like the barebones nature of Nacht, this can be applied to pretty much all the WaW maps actually. (P.S. before you start whining “wow ur so blinded by nostalgia lol” BO2 was my first Zombies game and I have 0 nostalgia for all the WaW maps, so nostalgia has nothing to do with my love for them)

I personally think you don't need the animated figure throughout the video. It's something I see a lot of commentary channels do and it's very overdone. Your voice is engaging enough! Very respectable tier list. I can understand your criticisms for the 3 first maps, tho i think they fall into a grey area. It’s hard to rank them fairly, especially Nacht, because Zombies didn’t really have its identity yet. Also, putting Tranzit as high as it is is something i wish people did more often. They hate on the map as a bandwagon. To my understanding, it wasn’t very hated until Lex started calling it Transhit. I’ve never hated it, personally
Needed to be done on PS4. At least. A full brand remake of Transit today on ps5, no fog, and other inconveniences fixed? Could be a great map. Think that goes for a lot of maps. And i agree with what you said, the first maps especially in WaW didnt have a precedent to hit. Id imagine they could have some replay value if reworked properly today. Just Not like cold war remake with nacht.
Tranzit is honestly my most played map on BO2. It has it's problems, but the fog is not a big deal once you figure out the bowie/galva trick or tap-fire once in their general direction. Lots of memorable locations to train at like the m16 tunnel, outside farm, Nacht or town. Tunnel has the added benefit of an easily useable glitch spot if you need to use the toilet on online games. If I'm in the mood for some zombies it's normally my go-to map!
Personlly, I take history in ranking the maps. Nacht is the first map, verruct introduced perks, shi no numa introduced wonder weapons, and see reis introduced pap which make them really important in where the game progressed to.
I’m the same, it’s why I find it hard to rank maps because Die Rise for example was released 4 years after Nacht. It’s why I think Der Riese is way higher than Kino as it introduced PaP and the teleporters etc.
Since day 1 of shadows I’ve always felt it’s truly the best map with the best wonder weapons, best layout (rift portals are super cool and useful) and the best theme. It was a great video, poor nact low key a good map besides how awefully slow it is, high round are extremely fun but again long and slow, this is also coming from a bo3 perspective, I personally don’t like the older versions of the map, they feel even slower and with no gobble gum to speed up the process. Funny die rise has probably one of the easiest high round strategies in zombies next to buried but the setup and layout are just too annoying to even think about loading up that map. It was definitely cool to play the first week of the dlc release but after that I never really returned. Honestly if it wasn’t for mob of the dead coming out I would have gave up on zombies years ago
I have been binge-watching your videos for a whole day, and I have never commented anything like this before, but there is no way you won't have 100s of thousands of subs soon. The quality and effort you put into these videos matched your consistency despite your low sub count is terrific. It's not a might its a WILL happen. The effort on videos like the one box and the wonder weapon ranking is sensational.
Objectivity is impossible when it comes to videos that are entirely opinion based. That being said Die Rise is objectively the greatest zombies map of all time
Bit picky but I feel like you're impersonating martincitopants with the way you're talking so fast and abruptly, maybe because he did some tier list vids too so its what inspired you to do them. I personally liked your normal voice in your other vids because it is very easy to listen to along with presenting a topic that I find nostalgic, the combination may for vids that are nice and chill. I couldn't really watch this vid for too long tbh
Yeah that's very fair. I did revert back to my normal voice during the video. The reason for it tbh, is because when i started making the video noone was watching me, so i was just having fun more so than trying to make great content. But then I had an influx of viewers so i though "Oh shit! Gotta get a little more serious!" So sorry about that! Ill keep this in mind for future videos!
There’s an easy fix for the glitch on Rev. you have to down yourself to drop the key. It mistakes the key for your third weapon with mule kick. Lose mule kick and it drops again
I know this is kinda late, but I would really love to see how you rank BO4 zombies, especially the Chaos maps like Ancient Evil, Dead of the Night, and IX. Considering how much I agree with your current ranking, I think you would judge these maps really fairly, imo AE and DotN are top 5 maps ever
I think zetsubou is still really underrated. It has a great atmosphere and I actually enjoy the set up. Getting round 100 by training in the skull room was extremely enjoyable for me and is probably my 2nd most favourite high round. The Easter egg is decent as well as it’s not too complicated and has an impactful ending cutscene (though some steps are kinda bs). The kt4 is a great wonder weapon and fun to use and the skull is the best specialist weapon in the game and is extremely satisfying to use. The map has so much originality which is often overlooked. I do get the map has its issues but honestly for me its atmosphere, originality and its enjoyability lands this map in maybe a low A tier.
Interestingly, the city aesthetic of Shadows of Evil is, itself, Lovecraftian. It largely resembles Providence, Rhode Island, the city where Lovecraft was born in and eventually where he died (only a few blocks down the road). Providence was in direct proximity of first steps of the American Industrial Revolution, and like many other cities, has been drained of a lot of its older industry. BUT, as a result, many classic buildings and cityscapes are preserved from Lovecraft’s time. It goes without saying that much of his work draws direct inspiration from Providence, with some of his stories being told through letters directly from his area of Prov. His short story The Music of Erich Zann is a pretty amazing description of his neighborhood, situated at the top of the steepest hill in the city, overlooking downtown. Anyway, great vid! Die Rise has always been top 5 for me. Completely fun to me. Simple. Space to train. No complex steps to get wonder weapons. Sliquifier is GOATED.

the WaW Der Reise Wunderwaffe does NOT take away your jug, what it actually does is far worse.
When you shock yourself with the Wunderwaffe in Der Reise, it decreases your health to a level that makes you a one hit kill, which it also does on Shi No Numa. So why does it not "take your jug" on Shi No Numa? Between Shi No Numa and Der Reise, the dogs were reworked to not be as strong as they were in Shi No Numa, owever, in doing so they changed the players health mechanics so that the code for health regeneration was nolonger compatible with the Wunderwaffes code that tells the player to begin regenerating health after shocking yourself.
The Wunderwaffe doesn't take away your jug, it reduces you to a one hit then fails to tell the player to regenerate health.

I ended up only having one major disagreement however, lol. Thought you were a bit too harsh on Nacht considering it's the very first zombie map ever made; you should at least give it a D tier for pioneering 3arc Zombies.
Great video! Your right about there not being any way of making this list objective. Liked the idea of doing a ranking in a comical way instead of the typical serious way that many have done before.
My only criticism of the video is the lack of background audio. I think it would've helped to "ambient" the maps positioning in a better way (like using dumb/angry music at F tier, but at higher tiers using the map respective music, ambience, etc.)

I might just be a big fan of bo3, but zetsubo is A tier for me and rev b. Reason being ee that are somewhat challenging are fun for me. I love coming back and doing SOE-Rev every once in a year

That is the truest take I've heard about Nacht. Also, I know you kinda put TranZit in the trash, but I actually like it. Given that the last time I played it was 8 years ago, I enjoyed how difficult the map was and the way it was designed (a more skill based map). You had to dodge lava, defeat the 'avocado' every several rounds, not get lost and die in the fog, and so much more. The only bad things were that players would troll with the EMP grenades, and the fact that the power room is like a flashbang the moment you walk in, really hurts to be in there.
Btw, a little detail as to why Origins is top tier is because of the Boomhilda itself. You could do insane movement if you knew how to use it correctly. Too bad they nerfed it to the ground in Bo3 though, I mean the tank and trench jumps are still possible, but it's a lot more difficult.

If you accept tranzit for what it is, it’s the perfect map to have a few drinks and just fuck around with your friends.
Call me a masochist but I really really like the barebones nature of Nacht, this can be applied to pretty much all the WaW maps actually.
(P.S. before you start whining “wow ur so blinded by nostalgia lol” BO2 was my first Zombies game and I have 0 nostalgia for all the WaW maps, so nostalgia has nothing to do with my love for them)

The one bad thing about shadows is the rng of the xenomatter without the flag method i have had games where i wouldn't get that one part until the 30s

Personally i’ve always enjoyed Die Rise. I’d give it C tier & I’ve never really enjoyed buried, to me it’s such a small & rather boring map i’d also put Buried in C tier other than that this list is hands on Perfect.

Hey man I loved the first video I watched from you, i don't want to tell you how to run your channel but I did also see you are looking for suggestions. I personally think you don't need the animated figure throughout the video. It's something I see a lot of commentary channels do and it's very overdone. Your voice is engaging enough! Just keep to gameplay with the text explaining what you might be referring to/talking about. That's all man enjoyed it otherwise ❤️

Very respectable tier list. I can understand your criticisms for the 3 first maps, tho i think they fall into a grey area. It’s hard to rank them fairly, especially Nacht, because Zombies didn’t really have its identity yet.
Also, putting Tranzit as high as it is is something i wish people did more often. They hate on the map as a bandwagon. To my understanding, it wasn’t very hated until Lex started calling it Transhit. I’ve never hated it, personally
Needed to be done on PS4. At least. A full brand remake of Transit today on ps5, no fog, and other inconveniences fixed? Could be a great map. Think that goes for a lot of maps. And i agree with what you said, the first maps especially in WaW didnt have a precedent to hit. Id imagine they could have some replay value if reworked properly today. Just Not like cold war remake with nacht.

The BO3 remasters are very replayable imo
Tranzit is honestly my most played map on BO2. It has it's problems, but the fog is not a big deal once you figure out the bowie/galva trick or tap-fire once in their general direction.
Lots of memorable locations to train at like the m16 tunnel, outside farm, Nacht or town. Tunnel has the added benefit of an easily useable glitch spot if you need to use the toilet on online games. If I'm in the mood for some zombies it's normally my go-to map!
Personlly, I take history in ranking the maps. Nacht is the first map, verruct introduced perks, shi no numa introduced wonder weapons, and see reis introduced pap which make them really important in where the game progressed to.
I’m the same, it’s why I find it hard to rank maps because Die Rise for example was released 4 years after Nacht. It’s why I think Der Riese is way higher than Kino as it introduced PaP and the teleporters etc.

Since day 1 of shadows I’ve always felt it’s truly the best map with the best wonder weapons, best layout (rift portals are super cool and useful) and the best theme. It was a great video, poor nact low key a good map besides how awefully slow it is, high round are extremely fun but again long and slow, this is also coming from a bo3 perspective, I personally don’t like the older versions of the map, they feel even slower and with no gobble gum to speed up the process. Funny die rise has probably one of the easiest high round strategies in zombies next to buried but the setup and layout are just too annoying to even think about loading up that map. It was definitely cool to play the first week of the dlc release but after that I never really returned. Honestly if it wasn’t for mob of the dead coming out I would have gave up on zombies years ago

Yeah that's very fair. I did revert back to my normal voice during the video. The reason for it tbh, is because when i started making the video noone was watching me, so i was just having fun more so than trying to make great content. There’s an easy fix for the glitch on Rev. you have to down yourself to drop the key. It mistakes the key for your third weapon with mule kick. Lose mule kick and it drops again

I know this is kinda late, but I would really love to see how you rank BO4 zombies, especially the Chaos maps like Ancient Evil, Dead of the Night, and IX. Considering how much I agree with your current ranking, I think you would judge these maps really fairly, imo AE and DotN are top 5 maps ever

I think zetsubou is still really underrated. It has a great atmosphere and I actually enjoy the set up. Getting round 100 by training in the skull room was extremely enjoyable for me and is probably my 2nd most favourite high round. The Easter egg is decent as well as it’s not too complicated and has an impactful ending cutscene (though some steps are kinda bs). The kt4 is a great wonder weapon and fun to use and the skull is the best specialist weapon in the game and is extremely satisfying to use. The map has so much originality which is often overlooked. I do get the map has its issues but honestly for me its atmosphere, originality and its enjoyability lands this map in maybe a low A tier.

Interestingly, the city aesthetic of Shadows of Evil is, itself, Lovecraftian.
It largely resembles Providence, Rhode Island, the city where Lovecraft was born in and eventually where he died (only a few blocks down the road).
Providence was in direct proximity of first steps of the American Industrial Revolution, and like many other cities, has been drained of a lot of its older industry. BUT, as a result, many classic buildings and cityscapes are preserved from Lovecraft’s time.
It goes without saying that much of his work draws direct inspiration from Providence, with some of his stories being told through letters directly from his area of Prov. His short story The Music of Erich Zann is a pretty amazing description of his neighborhood, situated at the top of the steepest hill in the city, overlooking downtown.
