it doesnt seem likely as Chins are Tibeto-Burman while the Lombok Sasak seem to be Austronesians. Furthermore, all Tibeto-Burman ethnic groups have a lot of words in common so if the Sasaks were related, they probably would too. The most common shared word is Min/Ming/Hming which is name, even in Mandarin and Tibetan

I heard it many times the tribal group of Philippines have so many similarities with us Chin and some Naga tribes too. Our facial and body structures are pretty similar, our traditional dress are close, our folk dance too. The fact that we both love rock and country songs are pretty interesting. While Philippines have bamboo dance as national dance, we Chin people also have traditional bomboo dance too called Cheraw. There is a connection between us.

There is a possibility that we may be related.
The Mizo people belong to the following genetic families:
      1. Y-chromosome (paternal line):
      - Haplogroup O-M134 (around 40-50%): common in Tibeto-Burman and Tai-Kadai populations.
      - Haplogroup D-M15 (around 20-30%): common in Tibeto-Burman populations.
      2. Mitochondrial DNA (maternal line):
      - Haplogroup M (around 30-40%): common in East Asian and Southeast Asian populations.
      - Haplogroup B (around 20-30%): common in Tibeto-Burman and Austronesian populations.
      3. Autosomal DNA (overall ancestry):
      - Tibeto-Burman ancestry (around 50-60%): reflecting their origins from the Himalayan region.
      - Tai-Kadai ancestry (around 20-30%): reflecting their admixture with Tai-Kadai populations from southern China and Southeast Asia.
      - Austronesian ancestry Haplogroup 0-M95 (around 10-20%): reflecting their admixture with Austronesian populations from the Pacific and Southeast Asia.

No one knows the detailed history. We could only guess that the ancestors of Sino-Tibetan people started spread out 8000 or 10,000 years ago from their origin in south Sichuan. Tibetan, Han Chinese, Qiang, and some other groups started separating from each other 5000 or 7000 years ago at northeast Tibetan Plateau(Gansu, Qinghai, Shan-xi area).

Let's not go by Folklores alone or the Zo identify will become a confusing mess even for us Zo. The Israel Bnei-Menashe Hypothesis remains doubtful at best.Look at Academic,Anthropological and Scientific Researches. From my humble findings a lot of Southern Chin do share cultural traits when it comes to Burial Rites and Tatoo Passages with Tangsa and Konyak Nagas unlike Mainland Zo like Paite, Hmar, Halam or Old Kuki like Biate, even their traditional attires do resemble Nagas of Eastern Chindwin. To conclude, the Chin Kuki Mizo (Zo) identity is a very important Political and Ethnic Group in the Tri-Juncture of Bangladesh-India-Myanmar whether the people themselvelves realize it or not

The Word ZO is a name which inherit from our forefathers,Chin, Kuki, Mizo are all ZO people.
There is a theory that the Mizo people have ancestral ties to the Zhou dynasty of ancient China. Some researchers suggest that the Mizo people may have descended from the Zhou people who migrated to the eastern Himalayas around 1,000-2,000 years ago.
Some points that support this theory include:
      - Linguistic similarities: The Mizo language has similarities with ancient Chinese languages, such as Old Chinese and the language of the Zhou dynasty.
      - Cultural similarities: The Mizo people have cultural practices and traditions similar to those of ancient China, such as their ancestral worship and clan systems.
      - Genetic similarities: Some studies have found genetic similarities between the Mizo people and the Han Chinese, who are descendants of the Zhou people.
However, it's important to note that this theory is not widely accepted and requires further research to confirm. The Mizo people's ancestry is complex and multifaceted, and they have also been influenced by other populations, such as the Tai-Kadai and Indo-Aryan-speaking populations.

@@rdp_mizodude, read your history. The Lushei Kuki clan by the Britisher. And also the Mizos might helped us financially but not a single dared to volunteer to fight in the frontljne and sacrifice. Since you sound that dumb, let me share some history, during the MNF movement over 300+ Kukis ( particularly the Thadous) volunteered, left Manipur for Mizoram and in the span of 20 years over 50 Kukis lost their lives in the fight for Mizoram. Over 10 plus Kuki villages in Manipur werre burnt by the Assam Rifles for helping the MNFs, and many innocent Kuki women were r@ped and beaten for your state. Not only that, since Manipur was peaceful at the time thousands of Mizos sought refuged in Manipur Kuki villages, some still stayed to these days. You should be more aware of your history and stop talking bads of others. Mizo history began only in the 1950s, meanwhile Kuki is already mentioned by the British in the 1700s and by Manipuri history back 700 AD.
