Lyrics below:
As the rain, keeps pouring down on me
And the sky is the only thing I see
And my troubles are gone with the wind
It's just me, and the ground beneath my feet.
I feel so alive
Oh I feel so alive
Oh I feel so alive
Oh I feel so alive
As the rain, keeps falling down on me
And my shadow is the only thing I see
All my troubles are gone with the wind
It's just me, and the ground beneath my feet.
I feel so alive
Oh I feel so alive
Bones to bones,
they can bring their guns
I'm at, war with the world
There is, no where to run no
Chest to chest,
You can, run if you want
I've come too far, oh I'm not gonna lose
I feel so alive.
I feel so alive
Oh I feel so alive (I feel so alive)
Oh I feel so alive (I feel so alive)
Oh I feel so alive
Oh I feel so alive
Bones to bones,
They can bring their guns
I'm at, war with the world
There is, no where to run no
Chest to chest,
You can, run if you want
I've come too far, oh I'm not gonna lose
I feel so alive.

Music video by Chase & Status performing Alive. (C) 2013 Chase & Status, under exclusive licence to Mercury Records Limited
It was a pleasure to work on this video, in large part because of the director, Josh Cole, who was deeply interested in authenticity - and this interest allowed for the voices of the Blackfeet people from there (including myself) to be heard in a way that adds so much to the video. Plus the song is just so damn good. Big props to everyone involved.
Thanks Sterling!! Loved working on this too!! Big up the Blackfeet Nation!
Thank you
Was this filmed in browning Montana ?
Thank you for making such an awesome video and song
@@antoniowolfe2041, that's likely. The mountains in the video might be CGI but Montana's popular description as being totally flat isn't true. It's home to a good half-Dozen Mountain ranges, some quite expansive.
This music video should be a Movie......
It hurts me that I can relate to this on every level. Fell heavy into drugs and drinking. Binging. You name it. I've been 20 months clean today! This is my sobriety song.
Congratulations bro I know it's hard but keep it up
Stay strong mate!!
Nice brother, I am also around a year sober after a decade of daily heavy drug addiction, it's great to see others succeeding.

I have brain cancer. This has been my manifestation song. Yesterday I found out my tumour has shrunk significantly. I just listened to this song, this morning and it hit sooo differently
Sorry man
hope your doing good
No matter the negative things are said about this video, I thank Chase & Status for wanting their music to be represented by such a story. I think this is a story that many in Native American and First Nation communities are deeply familiar with. It's a sad story that usually doesn't have a good ending. Through the inclusion of tribal spiritual practices, it shows that personal redemption is always something to strive for. The man committed many wrong in his life, and some of those wrongs weren't ready to forgive him, but he did the best he could. Thank you Chase & Status, you're music really brought this story to life.
i know it has been 7 years since you have made this comment, and you may never see this response. but that doesn't matter to me. i just feel propelled to say this.
you may never know the outcome of your words, but they cascade. thank you.
Blessings from a Roma Gypsy....We see your struggles...🤍🤍🤍 We live them too xxx
I couldn’t of said it better myself we need to teach the next generation forgiveness their needs to be more forgiveness in this world to start a healthy healing process for we walk with the creators Consciousness for revenge only brings more pain and evil thats not the way thats them our Traditional way is us stay awake
My mother died of Cancer earlier this September- and this song has helped me triumph over my own vices and will continue to give me light in this dark tunnel ahead.
Jesus is the light he can help you❤
As a Native American, non natives don't know what life is like on the Reservations. It is hard! I loved this video! I loved everything about it. From him being on crack and getting in trouble to robbing a video renting store to his girlfriend overdosing and dying, he turned it all around and made it right by going to the Creator for helping his change his life around! Being one with the Creator and the Spirit inside him. Seeing him in the end, he was okay, because he was one with his religion. Loved the Blackfeet exposure. NATIVE AMERICANS ARE STILL HERE!! Life is hard but we get by the best way we can!
Hiy hiy !!
If true. Congrats. It’s hard.

God bless you brother
Are you okay now? It’s 2023 and I’m struggling yet again ^_^ needing some solid hope! You are awesome utegiel89

Think it's a great video
As a Native, this hit hard at home. I was in tears. Very beautiful music video, thank you so much for bringing the things that are happening to our people these days to light. We were once a strong people, but with things such as drugs, and alcohol. It's killing our already dying culture. Again, beautiful and deep music video. I also love you guys incorporated some Native traditions!
I am always ashamed of the way that the US treated Native Americans
YOU AS A NATIVE WOMAN SHOULD KNOW BETTER THAN TO PRAISE SUCH A SICKENING DESECRATION OF OUR CULTURE. YOU ARE NOTHING BUT A SELLOUT TO YOUR CULTURE. SHAME ON YOU FOR PRAISING THE EVIL WORKS OF SUCH NONSENSICAL MEN.
Elo Janis quit ruining this video for people they should block you and your comments lmao....it really is a great video! I love it...kudos to all of the people who put hard work into it!! Great Job! My friends cannot believe thats how rez life can be...
Elo Janis Elo Janis should keep their mouth shut over the topic presented in this music video. It was given with permission from the Blackfeet, both Tribal Council and Elders. As a Niitsitapiiksi Siksikakoan I also stand by the decisions of my brethren south of the border.
Excuse me? This is not a desecration of our culture. Are you ignorant? How are we to get help and not be minorities of the U.S, once our land, if we don't allow the help and recognition of this sort of thing? This is real stuff happening to our people! Sad and real stuff. And for you to think I'm a sellout for THANKING, not praising, to my culture is offensive.
Navajo Indian signing in, and I have to give most massive respect to British artists Chase and Status for making this tune and this video. It's a big tune.
I am fortunate in that my family has been so far untouched by the scourge that is meth crossing the border, yet substances have had a role in my family and a role in me. I am fortunate in that, every day, I can join with others who are recovering from the disease of alcoholism and celebrate the fact I haven't drank that day.
As a graduate student of economics, I can accurately tell you that the long-term solution to the heroin epidemic plaguing our country right now is not imprisonment but rehabilitation.
To keep a potentially overall good person good you offer them a human hand, a hand of help and empathy, not a hand of punishment and scourge.
We know that the prison system in America doesn't work, that it creates mental illness and madness in addition to storing it.
Joe Biden and Ronald Reagan propagate these kinds of evil systems.
History will judge how you chose to help these people.
Addicts are people, too. Never go with a Strict Prohibitionist.

This man's voice comes straight down from HEAVEN...
Very powerful. He was doing the wrong thing, sought his elders and spiritual leaders and he made a change. Unfortunately, a bad choice he made caught up with him but the important thing is he made peace with himself. Repentance.
GentileJedi True, but tragic.. I'd rather of just kept going. It's better, to never go back to your past..
As a First Nations Cree, this is the most emotional music video I'd ever seen! It still makes me tear up when I watch this everytime.
Beautiful video. Well done. I have driven those roads many times, my heart goes out to the native tribes. God Bless the Blackfeet.
I remember seeing this video for the first time 5 years ago and finding it so striking and well done, and crying over it as a high schooler only to rediscover it today and cry over it again, this time as an adult, realizing just what it represents and how little many of us know about the struggles faced on these reserves. This video is more than words can describe and I will never forget it.
I would never have thought this UK group would have ended up on the Rez. But this video is very powerful in its meaning, and wish the younger generations would keep practicing traditions our tribes handed down. Keeping those stories alive and preserving your language is important in who we are as a Native people. Prosperity.
I’m in 2024 and I will say this song has kept me sober for the past 10 years. Since the first time I watched it when I felt like giving up every time. I would rather die being true to myself than a drug overdose. I respect myself to much to not give in ever again. Again and again I thank the people that made this video cause it is sadly our peoples struggle to stay away from that world. Prayers and blessing to everyone having those hard times.
You're a trooper! Sober for 10 years is a helluva achievement and you are a shining light to all who doubt their strength. Keep on shining!
Me too when ever I felt like picking the pipe up I watched it recently relapsed . Please people pray me
Okay, for everyone who has said "What does this video have anything to do with the song?" Well coming from someone who lives on this reservation (Blackfeet Rez in Browning, MT which is where this video is filmed) it's the sad truth. This reservation is crumbling before our eyes. And as shown in the video of a couple of young people smoking meth in an abandoned house, that is considered "the usual". Which it shouldn't be. No one wants to see their loved ones or friends have their lives taken over by drugs. There are a lot more drugs here than meth. But when the young man wakes up to find his girl dead beside him, that is when he feels more ALIVE than ever. He knows he has to change for the better. Turning his life around and looking for guidance. And he finally finds what his looking for, which is a way out of that kind of lifestyle.
People can learn ALOT from this video, especially people who knows what it's like to be physically dependent on such a cruel and ugly substance. To go from living on the streets, stealing from random houses to get their fix, and then all of a sudden realizing that they have more to life than that. There is a strong message in this video, a message in which we should live by! From my own personal experiences with this reservation, I believe the message is simply telling us to LIVE! To push aside all the negative and live your life to the fullest. No matter what people push upon you, you still have the ability to live your life the way it should be.
I'm surprised people are even asking this, but they probably don't experience many troubles in their lives

Well said!
Dear Terryn, thank you very much foe explaining this, i was deeply touched and disturbed by this video, such a an exotic views, people and language. I feel that this is really a very message. And how original americans are beautiful, especially a lady in a supermarket in the video where she is standing on a gunpoint while robbery attempt. I wish i could live in such a beautiful place, with such simple and nice people. Thank you very much dear Terryn for telling us all that . Bless you and your parents.
It should take no explanation 🙌❤
cant believe ive been looking for this song for 5 years. yes 5 years. and stumbled upon it today by a complete coincidence. absolutely loved this video and song back in hs. Maybe things are looking up :)

I cry everytime I watch this video, so powerful.
Never a track that they release which I dislike. Beautiful. Chase & Status
This video is so awesome. Its very rare to see Native Americans in a music video and these issues are real for us. These things are really happening on our reservations. Thank you so much Chase & Status for this beautiful song and for the touching video to go with it. I cried from the start. I feel so alive Hoka Hey!!!
Still one of the best songs and videos over 2 years later.
you should look up rudamintal
+Sean Kimberling funny, I came here because I was sending my friend some rudimental videos and was like, well this one is great too. good call.
Rudimental is amazing
Bones to bones,
they can bring their guns
I'm at war with the world
There is no where to run no
Chest to chest,
You can run if you want
I've come too far, oh I'm not gunna lose
I feel so alive.
those lyrics along watching the transition of the fellow Native making peace and fighting his demons brought chills to my back. Very powerful when the choir singing pops in. WOW.
I really resonated with those lyrics too. "I'm at war with the world, there is nowhere to run" Is how a lot of us Indigenous people feel. We feel isolated, stuck in a western society or stuck on reserves that don't have adequate support & resources in place. I feel isolation is something many indigenous folks face from the conversations I've had. I do a lot of public speaking on two spirit & indigenous culture & the conversations that arise after are powerful. I do my very best to walk this red path, to not give up on myself & my culture. I definitely cried a lot during this video lol it all hit me hard.
Crying now thank you 😖😭😭
I am 1/3 Cherokee. At the end when they play the drums and "ohhhhhhohhhhohhh" i searched chrokee drum circles music. I FEEL SO ALIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE!!!!
Thank you Chase & Status
Shut up
bloody love it. have so much respect for native Americans. such a tradagy how they were and still are treated.
Thanks for being so PC, now they want the Mt Rushmore faces destroyed... Keep being PC, see how far this white guilt will take you.
@@dabblesmith5755 You were right. That was dumb of me to say before, I deleted the comment. This whole racial thing was stupid, and a complete red herring to distract everyone from how we were so close to catching this whole covid-bs thing being a planned event. Fahk I had no idea the rest of America wasn't paying attention at all, if they were they wouldn't have fallen for such a ridiculously obvious distraction. It was so fahking obvious. And one day after Trump slammed the censorship for their unamerican obvious agenda.

Me I was in to drugs and alcoholism. But I want to live.. I want to live for my kids and my family. Do right and help my people. Creator has blessings you just need to find it in your heart to listing to what is right. This video has opened my eyes too. Its good. We need more video like this.. Aho
Hi I'm native, im cherokee live in Scotland, my grandad who was native died before I was born. This song is amazing. True 👍
Never get tired of watching this. So powerful
Got me crying at my desk at work dammit! Best video I've seen in ages, the feels.

So many years later, and this song still SLAPS! It's my motivation song.
Coming from a person that loves music and music videos and to not have liked and loved a music video in a very long time, this music video is very heartfelt. I am from Browning, lived here all my life, I moved away a few times but came back home because home is always home. I am a Blackfeet full blood and to have this video be seen by the world is awesome because this is my community and yes there is people out here in my town doing this but who can say their town is perfect? People do not like it because of the ceremonies but it's in cinema already, there is a movie called the return of a man called horse, into the west shows a lot more than this. That movie was done with the help of native elders and so was this video, with the blessings of a society at that. So Mr. Josh Cole, Thank You for shooting the video on the Blackfeet Rez. A Rez that is one of many in Indian country. Thank you to the cast and crew, elders for showing the Blackfeet Nation to the eyes of thousands maybe millions so hit that share and like button for all Native Americans!
May the people who are going through struggles find the strength that they need to overcome and rise above anything. May they stay strong and find their victory for when they do, its not only theirs but also of the ones who have fallen with similar struggles and are no longer here. Everyone is powerful.
Everytime I watch this video I cry. Its so moving, the parts when they show our ceremonies does not offend me. We are beautiful people with beautiful ceremonies. Its a new day and age, I believe that we were not meant to hide our ceremonies we only picked that up because there was a time our way of life was outlawed and our ceremonies not to be practiced. We don't have to hide anymore.
Truth
Chase and status dont play around when a message is to be put across! Keep it up! Brilliant drum and bass
Chase and status always find a way to visualise hard life and real experience through music
This is one of the best uses of short film I've seen in a long time. The dignity and the sadness is palpable. And the song and singer are perfect. Most people in America don't know what is going on many reservations. Suicide is twice that of the national average. And most of the suicides are teenagers. I hope this video causes some conversation and curiosity. The song of Passing Over into the Spirit World at the end with the one drum is chilling. Awesome work by everybody!
This song enlightens my spirituality. Thanks for this song guys, it's awesome!
LOL the exaggeration.
The Hh Lol the truth. It's music, heightens my spirituality

Dear Chase and Status , I admire the time it took to work with the people to show the world the truths of what the people are faced with I have read the controversy and I am proud that you have shown the realities of life, I am an Anishnawbe kwe ( FIRST NATIONS WOMAN)from Ontario my nation is Ojibway , life for some is exactly what you have shown and there will always be critics where there is demonstration of ceremony , the teaching I have is, TO KEEP IT SHORT, cermonies, is the path that will heal people from the paths of violence and substance abuse and self destruction, anyone who can not see the true felt intent of why you have created this may not ever understand , but the people of the Anishnawbek nation some will feel honoured you have created this , Miigwetch, Thank You, Merci THERE IS HOPE, IF YOUR INTENTIONS ARE GOOD THAT ALL THAT MATTERS

This music video should have been nominated somewhere; for something. What's sad is that music videos that have great meaning get left behind. I bawl at this and everyone else should.

So glad they did win something. This shit makes me bawl.
I really think that most of these people are missing the whole point of the video and song... Those of you bashing and saying that it's disrespecting and degrading our people, you're wrong. It's putting us out there. People are seeing us! Now they know. It's opening eyes to everyone! Why must you be so negative and close minded. I'm a young Native American, living on the Rez, wishing that this would open the eyes of your young people. Do you think it will? Our people need to be a little more open minded and see that this is a positive video, there is nothing wrong with it at all.
Love this
Fair comment that is
Its bloody excellent 👌
Fairplaybto you mate,a true man who actually has a message and isn't scared to say it!it may be 10 years later but still counts!blessed be
Thank you!!!
Our people need something to feel pride in and relate to that give us a positive Idenity for everyone, mostly ourselves. These events are occouring on reservations across Canada, So many women go missing and so many men are addicted to things. We are struggling if someone doesnt take a chance and try something that meets the old school with the new school nothing will ever get done. An elder told me the kids arent paying attention to their cutlure and who they are as First Nations any more. Saying "The old way isnt working we need to find a new way". I stand by any decision or movement that encourages Native People to better their lives. This video probably touched alot of people.
How powerful was this!
I am in awe of the story the song the feeling the inspiration and spiritually guidance. Glad I came to this

Drew..thank you for you very interesting reply. I enjoyed reading the historical facts. People are people...good and bad in all cultures. Defending land and lifestyle is honourable.
Identity is everything. ..without it there is nothing to fight for...
all Chase & Status music videos are so inspiring and meaningful..
Powerful and inspirational music video.
Hand down my favourite chase and status tune by far. Hits that emotional spot that makes u wanna laugh like a mad man, contemplate life and bust a move all at the same time, then cry about it at the end
This song has helped me through so much shit.. 3 years ago my dad left and when I was 13 my mum best friend who was like a mother to me died. I still look up to her for help and guidance.. Loved and never forgotten
R.I.P Elaine 😭..
Chase and Status mv's always getting my emotions going.
such an underrated song.
+WDGTreatz Seriously, its baffling to me how this song doesn't have at least 8 digits in the views counter.
