- Today we tackle the cooling system for the 12HT to suit the HJ75.
Repairing rusty and corroded coolant pipes using electrolysis and get the new ADRAD radiator installed.
Don't forget to like, comment and subscribe and follow the build on instagram @ / phatroopy
The AdRad radiators work super well. Had one on my old LN Hilux which was 10 years old before I had to replace it again. Replaced it with another AdRad haha
Engine bay looks sweet
I love that you just accept a challenge without a blink, but would it have been cheaper and quicker to buy a new/old replacement??
Awesome build mate just discovered your channel 2 days ago and have already watched all your episodes. Just wanted to point out as a precaution that cable feeding the 12 way fuse block in the glove box may not be thick enough. If it's just powering the gauges it should be sweet but narva 5mm cable (assuming that's what you used) is only rated to 25 amps.
Marib Rafiq Thanks mate appreciate it! Good spot I hadn’t thought of that, at the moment they’re just for the gauges but I will swap it out in the future when more accessories jump on it, cheers!
@@ShedBuilt no worries at all, keep up the good work🙂
I've been struggling to find a good spot to plumb my return fuel line back into my tank on my 2H-12HT conversion and just noticed you've TEE'd yours straight back into the feed line so I think I may aswell just do the same me thinks haha
Yeah mate good way to check everything works. Once I add the secondary fuel filter I’ll be running a line back to the breather on the tank 🤙
Where does the little vaccume line hook up that runs next to the coolant pipe to the turbo hook up ...you know the little pipe between the block and the altenator
good job
Love ur DIY sir.
Thank you! Cheers!
Good video.. you've put SO much effort into that 12HT.. I wouldn't expose it to these shitty old pipes. I think you'll be regretting using these at some future point.
Duncan Margetts yeah possibly mate. If you know anywhere I can buy a new set I’d be glad to purchase, in the meantime these will do the job just fine :)
@@ShedBuilt try lc 4x4 parts in gympie Qld. i ended up buying a heater pipe for $175 genuine. Leon is a top bloke to deal with aswell
I have some I don't need as my cruiser didn't come with the original 12ht but the water pipes were in the back as spare lol gimme a call 0487510640
sweet channel dude, loving the content. Does your troopy have a sleep setup or are you like camping in a swag or some shit
Yeah man got a double bed in the back on top of the drawers you can see you ep1. Will be revisiting them in a future episode tho. Cheers 🤙
Making some new ones out of stainless would have come up better
Im looking at doing the same
If i cant get a genuine replacement ( doubt it )
Small question about the electrolysis: wich power source is suitable? How much current and voltage do you used?
Where did you get your booster from? Bendix, terrain tammer??
Hi which gear box u used with this engine ?
whats that black paint youve used on everything in the engine bay?
