Yep, video is great. I love that you put emphasis on how much this plugin provides for free. Im my mind it sets a pretty bold claim (without actually saying anything) about what is about to come soon in the pro version. :)
@@JoeGator23 What should be included? GenerateBlocks plugin? I dissagree, GeneratePress is a theme, this is plugin territory. I see no reason why would this need to be a part of the theme.
I'm really loving Generate Blocks. I'm currently trying to use the dynamic content feature to get the values of custom fields. I'm using ACF to create CPTs and custom fields. I must be doing something wrong. I'm not able to see the custom fields in the dynamic data in Generate Blocks. Is it possible? I hope so.
Usually you do. Make sure that you enabled the RestAPI options as those are needed in Gutenberg. There may be settings on the CPT level as well as the field group, I don't have it in front of me. That should do it. If you don't see them some times you can just manually type the field name / slug and it will work.
With Dynamic Data / Query Loops, perhaps how pagination currently works might need a rethink or at least some sort of AJAXY- live load function. Refreshing the page completely feels clunky - especially if the paginated content isnt at the top of a page.
@@alan-muscat - I guess there are probably a number of reasons. Here are some thoughts. Gutenberg is not intuitive and many people find Elementor easy to learn. Elementor has a lot of standardized options and the 3rd party addons offer more. Gutenberg is the default way to create post content even if you are using a page builder. So, it is not necessarily an either / or. Elementor is growing faster than WP, so there is some appeal. Some things click for some users and not for others.
@@DavidMcCan Thank you. Yes, I wish there was a concrete tutorial from A to Z on how to build a site. Very much what WP Eagle does on his channel. Not sure if just demoing the features of a new plugin or a theme really helps newbies any.

In my mind it should be included in GeneratePress Premium...
or at least offer a lifetime license.

Great video David, easy to follow
Thank you for the positive feedback.
Thank you for the vid David. Love GP and GB!
Wow that's great! Presumably that's GP's preparation for full site editing
It kind of seems that way, but it doesn't support FSE at this time. I don't think they have revealed the long term plans.
Great video!!!! Can I use podcast as my post type?
Thanks. Yes, you can create a Custom Post Type called "podcast" or it is possible there are plugins for podcasters that will create that for you.

Nice job !
Some time this summer it will be time for a GP Pro vs Kadence Pro video ;-)
You are using Elementor on top of GeneratePress? 🤔
Only for testing. It is a popular combo.
@@DavidMcCan Why would you use GeneratePress as well as a page builder like Elementor. Blocks allows for the same thing and I'm not sure why.

But still, this is a tutorial for those who are experienced GP users and developers. Not for laypeople and beginners.
Are there some areas of GeneratePress and GenerateBlocks where more information would be helpful?
