Gr8 stuff, loved The feedback overview, looking forward to creating some synthesis with the feedback , with midi note trigger mapped to note mode to play the feedback with the keyboard, along side with modulation matrix.
Amazing demo! I regret upgrading from 10 to 11, because that one had minimal improvements for me, but this effect is super sweet! If someone has been holding out from upgrading from 10, I would now !
Thank you. Yes, I understand that new features may be important and useful for some, not so much for others. For me, the comping and macro variations were what I'd wanted for a long time.
You're very welcome. There'll be more walkthroughs coming to other new devices and features over the next few days and weeks. So keep your eyes peeled. 😉
Nice demo, but Sorry to say but to me it`s just different sorts of effects that`s allready in Ableton 11 put into one effect. I hear filters, different Distortion types , delays. Basically it doesn`t Sound like anything you can`t do by combining let`s say echo, redux, saturator, filter etc. Doesn`t make sense to me to take allready exsisting effects and just put them into one device. 🤷♀️
Fair enough! I don't know how far into the video you've watched, but while I agree that certain things Roar is capable of could be achieved with racks, there are other things (Mid/Side or feedback routing, some of the filters, plus in depth modulation) that aren't that easy to recreate. You can create pretty crazy sounds with it. Also quicker than if you built a rack with other Ableton Live devices. Alone the feedback routing is something I know I'm going to use quite a lot.
@@sonicbloomtuts yeah i quit after 1:20 . I guess its an internal meme at ableton or bitwig to make a new distortion plugin every 2 years or whatever. Just so you understand here is what we have in Ableton now instead of 20 year old issues being addressed or any sort of response to pages and pages of suggestions on the beta forum. Not to mention Push3 being completely sidelined like 1 month after release. Amp AutoFilter (has saturation on filter added years ago) Cabinet (simulates guitar cabinet with microphone) Color Limiter (by your team with limiter and overdrive) DrumBuss (apparently this was important to add MORE bass and distortion) Dynamic Tube (dynamic distortion?) Erosion (lets make it sound warm and analog) Glue Compressor (this has a hard and soft clip so you can drive it) Overdrive (this apparently needs to still exist) Pedal (This ALSO has to exist) Redux (bitcrush distortion) Saturatot (this has like 5 distortion models) Vinyl DIstortion (so you get that warm vinyl record feel) So yeah @sonicbloomtuts without watching your video I know that yet again, theres some distortion monster plugin that will have 1-3 new things and better code and essentially be an effect rack made out of the above things. They killed off the old Chorus plugin and replaced it with some bs thats completely different..but more distortion..always.
@TR-707 I get your point. I personally would for them to finally fix at least the worst bugs in the Looper, which hasn't happened for over a decade. I still think calling Roar just another distortion device doesn't do it justice. It's so much more and I know I will use it for lots of sound design stuff in my music. I need to compare the old Chorus with the new Chorus-Ensemble to see if I share your complaint. I must admit, it's not a device I often use.
@@sonicbloomtuts You are right about ROAR. Now that I have used it, it does feel like a consolidated distortion/saturation/overdrive device with expanded features and a lot of cool routings and deep automations. Hopefully people read this thread. Also, this is crazy - Roar actually has fast feedback modes that mimic what the OLD CHORUS I COMPLAINED ABOUT has. Not only that it has KEY TUNINGS mode which is exactly what i always wanted in the old chorus.. Thats insane. ill eat my shoe

This kind of videos are light in the dark. Thx
Glad you think so!
Very comprehensive!! Thanks!!!
Thanks, Dave. Looking forward to the AUG meeting in December.

Thanks. Sounds like a great plan. I think Roar in a rack with macro variations would also be amazing.

@@sonicbloomtuts Looking forward for Meld then! 😌🤝
awesome explanation like allways Madeleine
Muchas gracias!
I will come back to your videos when the update is out. Thank you for sharing!
Makes sense. You're welcome.😀
I know what I'll be playing with this weekend...
Enjoy!
Fantastic demo. Thanks!
My pleasure!
Absolutely killer demo!
Thanks, Merlyn. Hope you're doing well. x
Oh ! Yeah !!!!! Thank You for this amazing vidéo 📼
No worries. ☺There's much more to come on the new devices and features in Live 12. So many brilliant new additions in this upgrade!
So great. Cant't wait to get hands on the beta 🙂
I bet. Roar is my fave, then the Performance Pack by Iftah. I wonder what yours will be.
5:26 Kellogg’s are quite nice.👌 😂
@vroteg If that's your takeaway from the video, you probably needed takeaway or something else to eat. 😂
What software did you use to create the videos - with the effect and not capturing the rest of the Ableton interface? Nicely done.
Thank you! Screenflow, but everything was captured. This is all editing and with layers for the drop down menus.

Ta!
great another distortion effect
Let me guess. You didn't make it even past the demo.

way too many cigarette burns on this tape recording lol
Ah, well. That's what you get when you study musique concrete. 😂
