Right away in most all the comments I get a feeling these people truly care about you. And after watching a few of your casts, its easy to see why. I had a friend give me some reloads (30-06). I just wanted the brass for my own reloads, and when I pulled them down there was about 1/4 to 1/2 of a minimum powder load. Never trust reloads for critical defense situations, not even your own... and fire at least one round of any commercial box to make sure it is good ammo, and on target. Don't get me wrong, I trust my own reloads, but just a little oil on a primer or other unnoticed problem, and you could have a dud on your hands at the worst possible time. If it's a custom hunting round that you worked up for your rifle, then that is different. At worst you might lose your trophy buck. Actual hunting rounds I always make on a single stage press, and double check everything very carefully. I want my actual hunting rounds to be perfect.
Maxim C. Home canned goods. It is a process to home can food properly, and if you screw it up you can poison someone. Basically, you need to sterilize your jars (pressure cooker), put the food into the jar with the lids loose in the pressure cooker for a specific time, tighten the lids properly, store the food properly after canning. Some foods need to have an additional layer of melted wax on top of the food for an air-tight layer to seal the food away from the small amount of air at the top of the jar.
That is one of the few you tube videos that held my attention for the full 14 minutes. Not a dull moment. Great job telling that story. I wouldn't have been too happy with the hunter who took off after you told him to quietly get behind you but you make a good point. If he can't stay calm you're better off without him.
This is one of my favorite Steve Isdahl stories. In my youth I enjoyed many hunting and camping trips with my dad and family. These days ,I am only too happy to live vicariously through you and your contributors. I appreciate what you are doing to get the truth out. Too many have suffered in silence for too long. Happy hunting!
Here in the UK we have an American tv series showing a group who travel from town to town "investigating" big foot sightings , I don't think it does your cause much if any good apart from people standing up and saying in public they've had an "experience". As a life long hunter (we would say shooter or wildfowler or stalker etc) I appreciate your knowledge and understanding of wildlife and how ecosystems work . Having spent a short time in your area (Vancouver and Sqarmish) I understand a little about the sheer scale of your country . We have the same problems here to some extent , those politicians looking after the countryside don't know shit from clay about it and how it works . After seeing quite a few of your posts it seems I need to 're think what I thought I knew about Sasquat. Good work and good luck .
I learned that lesson a long time ago. I used to shoot a lot of .44 Magnum and reloaded with a Lee single stage press, never had a problem. A friend bought a Dillon press that did everything at once. Out of 500 rounds about 20 didn't get powder and lodged in the barrel.
Yeah, never use reloads for important stuff, your own or especially from others.... Reload misfires, primarily due to primers not seated properly, don't happen that often, but they do happen. For self defense carry I only use factory loads. :)
True.. to a point.. Mistakes do happen. The rule is never trust a reload you didn't load yourself and by extension don't give reloads to your friends because you don't want to be that guy who's round failed and somehow killed a friend.
Jeffery Smith you’re correct on that statement. When you’re loading ammo you should always be alone and focus on each round that you’re working on. Quality not quantity matters. His buddy would have killed him by this mistake, his angel was watching over him for sure. This is a good lesson for us all. Thanks for sharing this.. God Bless!
Nah, He just needs a Benelli M4 with Slug Rounds ! Most Reliable Shot gun ever made ! 7+1 Rounds in 2.7 Sec .. Put hundreds of rounds through it and never failed once ! I agree with you on loading BUT you cannot load a Benelli Shot gun wrong either ! Best Bear Defense Weapon made !
Jeffery Smith AIN'T THAT THE TRUTH, THE WHOLE TRUTH, AND NOTHING BUT....!!!!!! BILL HICKOCK LOADED AND UNLOADED HIS "51" NAVY COLTS EVERY DAY OF HIS EXISTANCE.... ANYONE THAT KNOWS ABOUT BLACK POWDER, ESPECIALLY WHEN MOISTURE IS A FACTOR....!!!! I'D SAY THE GUY CAUGHT A HUGE BREAK.....!!!!
When I first started reloading, an old timer told me to always weigh the cartridges once they are completed. As scary as it would be to run across a Bigfoot in the woods, I'd take that over a grizzly encounter.
@@papahulk7970 Bigfoot don't have claws. They also won't just wound you. They'll either leave you alone, or kill you outright, never to be found again. Grizzlies are dickheads once you piss one off.
Absolute truth! I ALWAYS weighed my hand loads before I boxed them. I also weighed them a second time later on before I packed them for a hunt just to be absolutely sure. I never "dummy" loaded one the whole time I reloaded but as soon as I stopped checking I would probably have had some kind of crazy shit like this happen to me, which would be my worst nightmare coming true. I've actually gone back to buying factory ammo now. Only reason I can see to reload now is if you're competition shooting, which I don't do not to mention it's no longer really cost effective since so many people have started doing it. Fun hobby though if you have the time and just want something to do.
Occasionally , powder dams up in speed measure . The best reason I ever heard for traying ur charged cases , then inspect for consistent powder levels . Before seating bullets , SO GLAD GOD KEPT YOU AROUND. GOD BLESS YOU
I had that "click" happen to me once with someone else's reloads. Bird shot just rolled out the end of my barrel lol. Luckily, I don't live in grizzly country and It only cost me a squirrel.
I had the click once because I grabbed the empty instead of letting the bolt fling it and closed the bolt without picking up a round from the mag. I was just testing my first handloads at the range so no loss.
I forgot to add the creepy part of the bear on the porch. The next day I wanted to see where he came from. He actually followed us from camp, sat on us 'somewhere' as we glassed, then followed us back down the valley to camp where he charged....WTF ???? I'll never know why as well WHY he never killed me or us while we glassed on the timbered slope we sat on. 1 in a million psycho bear, that shit doesnt happen.
I do not know if you believe in GOD but He was definitely protecting you on these hunts. You are a blessed man. I just found your channel & subscribe. Thanks for the story & take care my friend!!!
I recall this story a while back when I first began hearing about grizzly encounters, and I was glad to find it again. You are the most BLESSED person on this planet! Continued blessings! This is the BEST story EVER. Thank you! You have a new sub.
I remember the host telling a very similar story when his bullet failed him, he said that was a reload from someone else as well. That story involved a bear following a moose along a trail right up to him, but fortunately the bear chased the moose and didn’t attack him. He must be very lucky to have the same problem, maybe he should reload his own bullets or get a new friend who knows how to reload
Learned that same lesson about shooting a "buddies" reloads but at the range shooting 38's through a 357 rugar after watching a few bullets strike in front of a 10 yard target and the last one not hitting anywhere ,had to check and sure enough 158swc about half way down a 6" barrel that was in the early 80's ,if it had been like this vid ,i think i would have thrown up.
I’ve had two guns misfire on me deer hunting. One bad primer. Other a small speck of dirt stuck in the bolt that kept it from striking the primer. If I ever go into grizzly country I think I’ll carry a backup sidearm.
That is another "one in a million" story from the life of this hunting guide. I have listened to it many times and still get amazed at what could have happended to him.
I was charged by a mother black bear a few years back when i was bow hunting for deer. The two cubs came up on me and when they saw me they each went up trees right beside me and mom was not going any where. She charged me several times and one of the last charges she was only about 5 yrds from me. That puts the bung hole pucker factor up. I'm standing there with my knife in one hand and an arrow in the other thinking this is going to hurt really bad in a few minutes, but i was lucky. One of the cubs came down out of the tree and than the other, and all three ran down the hill away from me. After that little incident i now carry a ruger super redhawk alaskan in .454 when im out behind the house hunting just in case. I was very lucky that day, and i definitely don't want to experience that ever again.
B Lam same thing happened to me in the Adirondacks in upstate NY except I was camping and completely unarmed. Next year there was a shotgun in my tent, NY doesn’t allow handguns without a permit which is not easy to get. I don’t live in NY anymore, VT is much easier to buy a sidearm, background check and your on your way, no permit required Edit: due to a few recent bow hunting encounters with bears sidearms are now legal to carry here in VT while bow hunting.
That is a good story and you did a good job telling it. I learned about reloading from old timers and I guess some might consider me one now since I have been loading for 45 years, you do not shoot someone elses reloads. That goes double with the advent of today's progressive reloading systems.
And who says there’s no such thing as guardian angels?👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸 glad you’re still with us brother I listen to you at least once a day it’s good therapy man
I've been reloading for over 20yrs, avid long range shooter (not long range hunter). I personally will never ever load for somebody else, nor will I use somebody else's loads period.
~ for some morbid reason, fierce Mama grizzly bear films are one of my favorite adventure type movies, but that's because I live vicariously thru them. After I saw The Revenant, the idea of coming anywhere near a wilderness with the potentiality of a grizzly attack makes me shake too! A new viewer, really enjoying your vids. Thanks for sharing!
Wow man that's an awesome story and you did a great job telling it. I rank your story kind of close to similar accounts of surviving a firefight in combat, when you realize your squad is ok and you're the last men standing. You never get that out of your head and can only thank God you're alive. Wow!
Enjoyed your story with good ending. We vacationed in Yellowstone, drove on up to north end. We had auto trouble due to some bad diesel fuel. Later after we made it back, we read in the paper that two hunters had been mauled in that area. Around Garner.
Your guardian angel was looking out for you brother! I've had two Grizzly encounters in a Wilderness Area that's largest in the lower 48 and they say there's no grizzly bears in these woods. I was backpacking with my brother from California I said you lead .....bears like that nice tan California meat. Sure enough couple miles later he runs head on into a grizzly on his two feet standing straight up then I come walking up. We both Stood Still and just looked at the bear for a moment. He then ran about 20 yards up the side of the Hill got up on his hind legs again and looked at us we walked about 5 ft Ford and then the bear took off up in the woods. About an hour later. My brother still leading and we run into a second grizzly bear this time on the trail. Luckily he heard us as this one didn't hang around as long but he was huge had a big blonde Mark around his neck. And then about 20 minutes later we ran into not one but two mountain lions. It was quite the day on the trail!
Wow, what an entertaining and scary story. Here's a bit of trivia (which you may or may not know about) which to a small degree somewhat parallels YOUR story. In 1993 while filming a movie called The Crow, actor Brandon Lee, son of famed martial artist/actor Bruce Lee was shot and killed during a film sequence. There were "dummy" .44 CAL. cartridges that some dummy put together. He removed the rounds from the shells, emptied the powder, and then re-inserted the rounds into the shells. He neglected to remove the live primers in the process. Somebody on the set loaded the "make believe" realistic looking rounds into the cylinder of the gun... and pulled the trigger. After hearing a muffled-muted sound come from the gun, instead of the loud report and fire that "blank" cartridges generally produce... It was decided to remove these "home-made" make- believe rounds from the gun and load it with full charge blanks the way they used to. You probably guessed it by now. The muffled muted sound heard was the primer "popping" the round into the barrel where it now lodged itself... setting a deadly stage for Brandon Lee who was supposed to be shot with the .44 MAG. in the next scene. The actor with the now deadly gun took aim at Brandon and fired the gun which was now loaded with full power blank cartridges. The exploding full powered blank now dislodged the jammed round from the gun's barrel which nobody noticed was there earlier, creating a "perfect storm" ... sending the round screaming downrange and unfortunately, into the actor's chest ... killing Brandon Lee in the process. The strict rule of NO LIVE AMMO ALLOWED ON A MOVIE SET was technically violated, causing a young, promising actor to lose his life ... all because of a careless mistake!

thanks. i was a big fan and all this time i never knew those details. i thought someone mistakenly loaded it with a live round.

Still by far the best/scariest bear story I've ever heard! Holy shit you're so lucky to be alive, Steve ... (Yeah, I'd be a bullet shaker for now on too!!!)
New to your channel. This was the third episode I've watched and have to say I'm hooked. Great job!! As far as this segment goes, hell of an experience. Just the way you told it has my anxiety level maxed out because that is a hunters, or at least THIS hunters, absolute worst nightmare. I need a damn drink after this one. Holy smokes. Looking forward to hearing a lot more! Cheers!
A handgun in a holster would be useless in the event of a charge. You’d never have time to get it out of the holster, aimed, and fired before the bear was on top of you. Unless the gun is in your hands, it’s basically worthless as bear protection.
Crazy story, mine isn't near as scary but I hunt western oregon, "blacktail black bear country"... anyway I always carry my glock 23 .40 cal on my side when bow hunting, was walking an old growth patch I knew some bucks were hanging out in, an old cat road in an old growth patch might i add, raining like a bastard... I hear a twig break behind me and not 5 yds away crouched down a big tom cougar was following me the whole time down the road... well I drew my 40 within milliseconds, "I coulda won any fast draw comp with that one"..... click...... wtf... jack....click.... HEEEEEYYYYY!!!! Cat runs off thank God.. look on the ground at my feet and my mags laying there.... well the night before I had cleaned it due to rain that day and forgot to jack a shell into the chamber afterward.. "normally every second of everyday that gun is ready to pull the trigger".... drew, empty chamber.. re jack, empty chamber... ontop of forgetting to put one back into the chamber the night before after cleaning, when I drew on the cat in those milliseconds I somehow hit my mag release and dumped my mag to my feet without realising it, so when I went to jack another round into the empty chamber... there was no magazine in the gun.. long story short thank God he didn't want to eat my big mean voice lol.
MBC- Outdoors That's why I don't buy glocks anymore. If you have big hands they are dangerous in an adrenaline pumped situation. Try a SigSaur P model. Way more reliable.
MBC- Outdoors The other thing is he might have been tame. You'd be surprised how many people find and raise cubs out in the forest, (usually after poaching their mother), raise them until adulthood only to have them escape and run off.
Great stories Steve - got bumped here through a US forum but am typing from the sometimes sunny Okanagan. I laughed and shook my head at "the shake" you developed. Been handloading for nearly 40 years and I still "shake" hunting rounds after a couple "odd incidents" on the mountain - not a bad plan for factory ammo either by the way. Anyway good stories sir, keep 'em coming and Merry Christmas and Happy New year from down here in BC wine country.
i can't believe this happened!! I used to load shot gun shells with my father, an avid hunter, when i was a little girl. It really was a simple, organized system back then. I can't believe your "Buddy" could be so wreckless . Unless they have a new and complicated loading system from 50 years ago, I find it difficult to understand how he could have forgotten that one step. He literally took your life in his hands. Anyway, I know mistakes happen, yada yada yada...I'm grateful your alive, as i just stumbled upon your videos and website and it brings back so many memories for me. I miss my father a lot....STAY SAFE!!
I'm afraid your luck will right out one of these days being too close to dangerous animals. I hope that doesn't happen, stay safe and keep making great videos.
Oh my god what a story thank God you’re alive! Having only hunted deer and ducks pheasants stuff like that growing up I have never been in proximity to her bear other than to see one walk by my brothers front door when he lived in the middle of the woods. And that didn’t phase me at all but your story I would have freaking died …thank God you’re cool! 😉💪
Holy shit! When you said "click" I knew what that meant in regards to facing off with the grizzlies. Then to find the bullet blocking the barrel. Learned about what happens to blocked gun barrels in a couple of movie. Glad you're still here.
I’m glad to see that I am not the only one that those sock caps make itchy scratchy. I see him keep pulling it up and scratching. I’m sure he wasn’t thinking about that when was facing the bear. I’m glad he survived with no injuries.
You would never have time to get it out of the holster, aimed, and fired in time to stop a charge. Unless the gun or spray is in your hands it’s essentially useless.
OMG- you had me laughing and scared- both at the same time. One of the best recounts I have ever heard. Used up a few of your nine lives on that expedition- to say the least.
honestly after hearing many of your stories i cannot understand how you continue to hunt? i would have been traumatized and gotten ptsd from those event and stayed far away from all woods! it doesn't help that one of my biggest fears is encountering a bear. i live in NY state and i still always ask if there are bears in any of our nature parks knowing there isnt, i live farther away from that but go about 40 mins away youll see some black bears sometimes roaming the streets ins the towns. so im petrified bc ik my nerves could get the best of me looking at one of those things and you already got a slim chance of surviving and encounter so its really incredible you have survived as many as you did! bless you man! and thanks for all your stories!!!!
Why are religious people just as likely to die as non-religious people? Why do religious people pray for terminally ill people yet they almost always die anyway? Why does “god” kill infants and babies? Why is any atheist or agnostic just as likely to live through a car crash or bear attack than a Christian? What about other gods? For thousands of years Greeks believed in over 100 gods... What happened to all of them? Should I pray to Allah or Ahura Mazda, or the Egyptian Sun God ? Religion really does make ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE. Its like believing in Santa when we were kids, we only believed it because everyone told us he was real, even despite how obviously fake he was. Gods, and religion in general is the same way. When people get older they should realize this for themselves. Instead, we have ignorant, most likely low IQ people like you going around and sounding like a lunatic with all your “prayers” and “angels”.
Cosmic Bro , Pretty sad that you lead such a dull life youve never needed angelic protection or that your so ignorant you dont beleive in God. WAS just like u once back in my more stupid days. I'm also a loading expert and you NEVER EVER take loaded rounds from someone else unless they are specked for your rifle specifically. 300 ultra mag is a bad round but most likely would not have stopped that griz. Your trophy room is like a zoo of the

Your Bigfoot viewer reads are very enlightening and have reopened a world I had closed off a long time ago. (But left the window open a smidge.)
The people you have gathered around you in the comment sections, your fans, followers, are an incredible, supportive, kind, and loving group of people. Towards everyone, but especially towards you.
Right away in most all the comments I get a feeling these people truly care about you.
And after watching a few of your casts, its easy to see why.
You have a no nonsense black or white no bullshit allowed outlook on things, which makes your kind words to your groupies that much more meaningful.
When you say to an experiencer that you appreciate them or when you call them brother, or tell them they have a place in your kingdom, there is zero doubt that you sincerely mean it. That's it.
You are sincere.
In a world that's full of shit and going down in a blaze of mass murdering lies, your show is reassuring.
There is someone with honor, respect, and dignity out there.
You all are an awesome bunch of people. So refreshing. I always feel more positive after coming and listening and reading.
Thank you all.
You need to post this comment to a more current video.
This is a well-deserved high praise for Steve.
@@sandrajohnson9926 - I guess I could do that. Steve doesn't read the comments, but I have a feeling Sarah, or someone else close to him does. At least some of them.
I think the comments are more for all of us than anything else. I also think not many people will take the time to read the whole thing. I appreciate that you and 5 other people did.
I'll copy paste it into the latest post and see if anyone else takes the time to read it.
Thanks for leaving a comment on it. It makes me feel good to know someone read it and appreciates it.
Two things I never accept from friends or family; homemade canned goods and reloads.
For sure, this comment is amazing to me. I too NEVER accept home made canned goods or reloads from anyone. No offense to my Mom.
smart man
I had a friend give me some reloads (30-06).
Steve Niemyer
Why no canned goods?
Some foods need to have an additional layer of melted wax on top of the food for an air-tight layer to seal the food away from the small amount of air at the top of the jar.
..."Are we gonna get him,mom?"....best part of the story:)
This is why I either buy factory or roll my own. NEVER use someone else's reloaded ammunition!
Could work, might not. Might also blow up in your face. No telling.
I learned that lesson a long time ago. I used to shoot a lot of .44 Magnum and reloaded with a Lee single stage press, never had a problem. A friend bought a Dillon press that did everything at once. Out of 500 rounds about 20 didn't get powder and lodged in the barrel.
I'm with ya on that one.
I only use factory too, just personal preference
Yeah, never use reloads for important stuff, your own or especially from others.... Reload misfires, primarily due to primers not seated properly, don't happen that often, but they do happen. For self defense carry I only use factory loads. :)
your buddy needs to find a new hobby, that mistake is unacceptable.
True.. to a point..

NO WORDS FOR THIS. Glad you didn't get angry with your buddy. You're a man who has learned patience?
The Lord kept you safe those times.. awesome stories❤
When I first started reloading, an old timer told me to always weigh the cartridges once they are completed. As scary as it would be to run across a Bigfoot in the woods, I'd take that over a grizzly encounter.
Why'd you prefer the Bigfoot than the grizzly
@@papahulk7970 because there is no proof for bigfoot
@@throngcleaver .....bigfoot could rip you in half without even any effort if he was so inclined
Moral of that story......don't accept reloads from "friends". Only shoot what you've reloaded yourself.
Holy SHIT!!! That's crazy man! Glad everything worked out and you're still here to talk about it! What an experience!
That is creepy. Could have been sizing you up but I don't know if bears are that cunning. Like I said you are the luckiest man on the mountain.
I think y'all owe the Good Lord a thank you for that day's happenings. Glad You all came out alive.
I do not know if you believe in GOD but He was definitely protecting you on these hunts. You are a blessed man. I just found your channel & subscribe. Thanks for the story & take care my friend!!!
Maybe he was just deciding if you were in his territory or not? Or maybe the berries ran out. Who knows, but glad you're ok.
howtohunt.com they are just as intelligent as we are
"He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all they ways."
load them yourself, NEVER rely on someone else or just use factory ammo if you don't know how to reload
Wow! What a story!!! God must have been with you when that sow grizzly and her cubs decided not to attack you.
....if the cubs had been any smaller.....
Load your own shells. Be consistent. Pay attention ALWAYS!!!
coydog caller i count every grain of powder in it to make sure it's dead accurate
Lucky man
I’ve had two guns misfire on me deer hunting. One bad primer. Other a small speck of dirt stuck in the bolt that kept it from striking the primer. If I ever go into grizzly country I think I’ll carry a backup sidearm.
Holy WOW! Glad your still around for more awsome stories! I love what i hear from you! Learn alot! Wish i could do what you do!

That is another "one in a million" story from the life of this hunting guide. I have listened to it many times and still get amazed at what could have happended to him.
Just found your channel man I love it I have been beige watching!! Love your stories! And you Canadian accent
Was that in CA where it's illegal to carry a sidearm when bowhunting by chance?
@@VikingAngry that law doesn't sound reasonable or safe. needs to be changed.
or just carry fucking bear mace. you know like every intelligent hunter does that isn't just out to just kill everything that moves like a jackass
B Lam same thing happened to me in the Adirondacks in upstate NY except I was camping and completely unarmed. Next year there was a shotgun in my tent, NY doesn’t allow handguns without a permit which is not easy to get. I don’t live in NY anymore, VT is much easier to buy a sidearm, background check and your on your way, no permit required
Edit: due to a few recent bow hunting encounters with bears sidearms are now legal to carry here in VT while bow hunting.
Its glad you know your limitations. As all man should
I love your stories... could listen to you all day!!
Oh, wow. I had a box of shells that got damp and less than half of the box fired. The rest were duds.
Awesome story, there's someone watching over you. God bless
That is a good story and you did a good job telling it. I learned about reloading from old timers and I guess some might consider me one now since I have been loading for 45 years, you do not shoot someone elses reloads. That goes double with the advent of today's progressive reloading systems.
#1 reason you should reload everything yourself lol
and always carry a back up !!!
Yeah I'm surprised he didnt have a big bore revolver for a backup.
Straight up, that's the way I roll.
And who says there’s no such thing as guardian angels?👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸 glad you’re still with us brother I listen to you at least once a day it’s good therapy man
Hi Steve Jody from Cape Cod Mass love watching u in the wilderness it's amazing ty for sharing them with us stay safe out there
I knew what was coming as soon as you said they were hand loaded. Made my knees weak just hearing the story.
I've been reloading for over 20yrs, avid long range shooter (not long range hunter). I personally will never ever load for somebody else, nor will I use somebody else's loads period.
That also has been weird to me. It feels dirty for me for some reason using somebody else's loads.
Awesome story beautifully told👍. Your reloading "friend" should never reload another round.
What an experience Steve, it was not your time, so glad your still with us...just terrifying🍂
Daaamn, brother!! I was on the edge of my seat your whole video. That's terrifying! God was on your side, don't doubt it for a second. Wow!
Great flipping story! God was by your side that day. I could only imagine how you felt when you realized what could’ve happened. Stay safe out there.
Wow man that's an awesome story and you did a great job telling it.
I rank your story kind of close to similar accounts of surviving a firefight in combat, when you realize your squad is ok and you're the last men standing.
You never get that out of your head and can only thank God you're alive.
Wow!
HEW HEW + Welcome home brother.
I believe in the curse that followed Bruce Lee to later go after Brandon Lee. only the males in the Lee family are cursed not to reach an older age.
@ Conrad...i remember that, thanks for the details.
I miss hunting with my Dad when I was a kid. He was a conscientious hunter (like you). Really enjoying your channel. Regards, Tammera
If I was you, I'd definitely be carrying a secondary weapon after that experience. Thank God everyone turned out safe
Most def a sidearm with high grain and caliber. "BOUGHT" loads!
Yep God was really looking out for you that day
If I remember correctly you aren't allowed to carry an sidearm in bc for bear hunting, only your bow or rifle
Magoon is correct.
Yeah i would carry a .45 with hollow rounds
You have a great gift for telling stories. Love it.
I am always super careful with my handloads, to many stories like this..
God was defiantly watching over you that day AMEN

New to your channel. This was the third episode I've watched and have to say I'm hooked. Great job!! As far as this segment goes, hell of an experience. Just the way you told it has my anxiety level maxed out because that is a hunters, or at least THIS hunters, absolute worst nightmare. I need a damn drink after this one. Holy smokes. Looking forward to hearing a lot more! Cheers!
how come you don't carry a backup handgun? 10mm? 44 mag?
Canada = No Handguns.
MBC- Outdoors Might have been hungry and used to being fed, read your situation knowing you were about to kill a deer and wanted in on the hunt/feast.

The dude that made you those hand loads isn't a very good buddy.
Almost like something in a movie where they were trying to get them killed on purpose.
Yep he knew exactly what those loads where for.
Anyone on a grizzly hunt should have a minimum of a 44 mag on their hip and their primary rifle. Redundancy is key.
How do you miss putting the powder into handloads?
illegal in Canada
I'm afraid your luck will right out one of these days being too close to dangerous animals. I hope that doesn't happen, stay safe and keep making great videos.
Hopefully his luck will run out!!!? 😉
This happened to me with a 375 H&H. I now reload my own.

Never trust anyone else to load your ammo. Good learning lesson. Load your own lead!
Wow, Count your Blessings for sure!
get a backup gun, I carry a 454 casull with 360 gr hard cast here in montana. I have no doubt it would kill a grizzly point blank
They can't carry pistals in Canada!
You would never have time to get it out of the holster, aimed, and fired in time to stop a charge. Unless the gun or spray is in your hands it’s essentially useless.
Donald Hofman Certain places in Canada like the far north you can carry a pistol for protection. Like the far north
Always carry a big revolver in a shoulder holster when in situations like this!

seabliss22 shut up, noone wants to hear about your fucked up religions except u christian killers.
J0y Shark - not religion pal, the fact of The Almighty, and His angels protection. “No unbelievers after death!”
Mr. USA ^
Cosmic Bro , Pretty sad that you lead such a dull life youve never needed angelic protection or that your so ignorant you dont beleive in God. WAS just like u once back in my more stupid days. Thankfully have waken up since. Long story but your wrong & probebly the ONLY reason your still alive is due to divine protection but you never recognized it. Ignorance does that...
I'm a guide and a guy who's killed 100s of animals. You are one gnarly dude man. I'm also a loading expert and you NEVER EVER take loaded rounds from someone else unless they are specked for your rifle specifically. 300 ultra mag is a bad round but most likely would not have stopped that griz.
