Yes badgers do dig up nests particularly in dry weather when earth worms are less available. They'll eat the pupae.

Funny, just talking this morning about finding a bee's nest being opened up by a badger!

Raccoons do the same thing here in USA

How interesting, can’t help with ideas of who or what the cause is but I’d lean toward your theory of a badger - although you said people would’ve put the rocks etc back 🤔 I know lots that wouldn’t, not sure why people would disturb that area in that way in the first place though - maybe you’ll never know.

Do a follow up video please. Did you manage to not get stung?

Well that’s still an open-ended answer LOL I’ve just come back, every hour I’m going back once they calm down and put a few more rocks in and build up the cover. I’ll go again at 10 pm once it’s really cool hopefully they won’t come out and chase me which is what they’ve been doing, yet to be stung though! 🤣😂🤣

How did you get that close without getting stung?

They were actually fine and I disturbed it quite a few times. I got chased down the road but no stings ! lol
