Proper farming Andrew, taking a hit this year to reset the most important asset in your business, the soil. Well done and looking forward to your farm being back to full productivity next year.

Politics are definitely best avoided. I’ve been a Conservative voter since the early 80s but I couldn’t endorse that shower. Remember those trade deals just to get something signed and what about standards in public life? How you conduct yourself matters. Here’s hoping 🤞

Great Eccleston show is excellent. We are in the process of moving from near Derby to Pilling, which is a few miles north of Gt Eccleston. We will be there, my partner is exhibiting crafts & demonstrating either spinning or weaving on Sunday.

MF 35X Multipower, my favorite tractor, even better than MF 1200, the model I drove for many years.
Great update Andrew, and amazing views from North Wales, and not too far from us in the East Midlands.

Thanks Andrew, another great update. Let's hope this next Autumn/winter is not as wet as last year, good to see the drainage in though. We can only see what happens with the new Government, let's hope its good for everyone. Really good to see the tractor run, well done to them.

I’m afraid we can try and be as positive as we want about a labour government but we’ve seen it before and we know where we’re going.

    Good morning Andrew.
Very wise to stay away from politics although you would make a fantastic agricultural minister! 👍
I’ve just caught the new chancellors speech, a massive change in planning with a big push towards large scale renewables, I can see farmers being forced into giving land over for wind/solar farms even if they don’t want to. She said central government will overturn any local objections.
Net zero is going to be bad for all farming in this country in my opinion but like you say, let’s see what will happen.
    Have a good week 👍

Great update… good to see fundraising for the Air Ambulance, an essential for Lincolnshire given how remote you can be as a casualty, either on the roads or in the countryside. People wrongly believe that the service is partly NHS or govt funded, but every penny needed to keep it providing care in the air is from charitable donations…

Hi Andrew, top video, will show mum later. It was good to see the drainage guys in action. I was hoping to make it down to have a look, but was away that day. Interesting how the geology changes the soil type. Top of the wards long field is underlain by Brandon sandstone (192 million years old) and the bottom of the field is Charmouth mudstone, hence the amount of clay.

    • @WardysWaffleAndrewWard
      @WardysWaffleAndrewWard  7 дней назад

Thanks for that Andrew, never heard of those soil types. They used a bit more stone than on the plan but I’m sure it’ll benefit.

Re change of government, despite being regularly critical of the Tories since Brexit in particular, I've noticed how much more helpful RPA have been in the last year, and have told them so.
I've been submitting claims for hedges I've planted and fences I've put up, under mid tier.
They have paid a lot quicker and do seem to understand the need to, to enable us to carry out the actions they're wanting from us.

I have to agree with you about that drain, it looks to me like it will cut a trench in the bank in a couple of years. If that is classed as a river do you have to get permission to put a drain into it 🤷‍♂️

Great update Wardy, alway good to catch up with proceedings of a lazy Sunday morning.
I have to comment on my dislike for this new format of video. I don't understand preempting what you're about to see with a 'coming up'. Feels very Americanised, or like you're trying to make extra content out of nothing,.. which seems totally unnecessary. I'm already subscribed, I'm going to watch whats "coming up", why delay it? Considering how long I've been following you it feels a lot like you taken some bad advice. It doesn't feel fitting with your updates. I used to enjoy your intros, and the outros, which have seemly diminished out of existence, and contrary to your claims, in past videos your political opinions have been interesting even when I haven't agreed with you.
I appreciate you may want to restrict your political opinions aspect to avoid contention, but I don't understand the new 'coming up' development. Perhaps I just don't like change, or I'm just not a fan of how Wardy's weekly waffle seems to be evolving into Wardy's mandetory update with new reserved opinions, but it doesn't feel like it came from you, whether you're trying to emulate other youtubers or taking advice.
I appreciate RUclips probably provides an income a farmer can no longer do/cope without, but the feel of the progression from 'unique RUclips update' to 'monetised content provider' isn't adding anything to your videos quality for me, moreover it detracts from the quality since I now immediately hit skip at the start of your videos until I no longer see 'coming up'. I've never regularly skipped any of your content until recently.
I am but 1 voice, 1 opinion, but personally I much prefer your older video formats where you discuss potentially contentious topics, I love you fighting the good fight and possibly ruffling some feathers. There are too many opinions these days guided by popularity rather than poignancy, and I worry about the future of Wardy's waffle, but also I miss the old format intros and outros.
I don't understand RUclips, nor your 'presence' on it, and so if the new format is pulling in extra views/exposure/revenue then perhaps my words should be ingored or disregarded, but having followed/subscribed to you for several years now the evolution of your presentation has been good until recently, but the last few videos seem to have taken influence from something or someone that I feel does not gel with your update style, and hope you'll revisit a more 'Wardy's waffle' style with future updates.
I wish you all the best though what ever direction you go in. Cheers fella! 👍

Thanks for the feed back really appreciate it.
I’ve always explained what’s ‘coming up’ in the intro. Doing it by showing short clips is a visual intro rather than me explaining in words. It’s nothing to do with views or financial benefit. Quite often I don’t know what is going to be in the update until I’ve edited clips together and seen how long it is. In the past I’ve done a verbal ‘coming up’ and then had to heavily edit it because if I’d left it all in, the update was too long. Last night was a prime example. I didnt finish editing this update until 3.30 am this morning, there was 62 videos at the start but it was 42 mins long so had to delete 3 topics. So in short it’s just easier for me doing it with little clips, that’s the only reason. I can still have a rant/ hold people to account in the video, as with my political thoughts in this update. But if it really does make the updates not so enjoyable, I'll revert back. I’ll may be ask everyone next sunday.
      Again, appreciate your thoughts. 👍

Definitely could have been worse, Reform could have got in, and they'd have killed farming off for their overseas investors and killed the NHS for the same reason. Labour aren't perfect, but they're the best on offer.
